Now-a-days finite element analyses are the powerfultools which is been used in the implant dentistry. In this study, itwas been reviewed that Finite element analysis were performedon various thread shapes of dental implants of differentmanufacturers to study effects on stress distribution generatedin the surrounding jaw bone and to determine an optimal threadshape for even stress distribution in jaw bone. The aim of thisstudy was to derive alternative implant thread shapes whichcould minimize the stress concentration at the shoulder level ofthe implant. A literature survey was done with the index termsmentioned below. Several relevant articles and research paperswere studied for the collection of the data which is used for thefurther work. Different parameters like types of implant threaddesigns, implant materials and properties , loading conditions,methodologies is studied. The implant thread designs are beenaltered to get the expected results. The study of the implantthread parameters is been carried out further for the researchwork
