“ANALYSIS AND OPTIMIZATION OF CARBON FIBER COMPOSITE FOR ANKLE FOOT ORTHOSIS AND FOOT DROP” - A CRITICAL REVIEW.
Abstract: The Ankle is the most important part of the human body, which provides support to entire body. If instability is present in the lower limb of human body then Ankle foot Orthosis (AFO) is used to control that instability by maintaining exact alignment of ankle part and controlling the motion of human body. An (AFO) is an artificial component that supports the ankle, foot area and extends from below the knee down to heel. The AFO which is available in developing countries like India are usually imported which are expensive and requires more time to procure. The AFO imported has many challenges such as improper design of component same as human ankle. So it is planned to design and develop a low cost option with similar safety standards.
