In a conventional wind rose only wind frequency, magnitude, and direction of wind for a particular site is given. But in this paper vertical wind shear is also represented in a wind rose for eight directions. In that diagram minimum vertical wind shear and maximum vertical wind shear for a particular site is represented. For calculation power exponent law is also used. Representation of vertical wind shear in a wind rose is the research component in this paper. The wind rose for vertical wind shear may be useful to predict the flicker initiated in the wind turbine. in this research readings are taken at different sites like Parwati hill, Jambhulwadi lake and Taljai hill in the Pune city. The wind rose of vertical wind shear for one of the sites is given. © 2017 IEEE.
