This study is done by the company Whirlpool of India Limited, situated at Ranjangaon MIDC, Pune. The company is facing the pr oblem regarding to packaging system. In December 2018, 265 Litre Whirlpool refrigerator product was found in damaged condition at e-commerce company amazon’s ware house. Dents were found on the door and outer wrapper of refrigerator. Also EPS protection were found in damage condition. Hence, this product has been blocked for selling by amazon Company. Also amazon is demanding for ISTA certification of above mentioned product for further selling process. After root cause analysis it is clear that EPS currently used is failing to absorb energy dissipated during impact. So, it is needed to select EPS (thermocol) with more strength, energy absorption capacity and cushioning effect and changes in packaging protection post. Strength of the EPS is mainly function of granular size, density, heating temperature and pressure of the steam. Mechanical properties of existing and new material will be compared after carrying out tensile test and compressive test as per ASTM standards. Design, analysis and selection of shock absorbing eps foam packaging material

In Machine-to-Machine (M2M) methods, there may have number of devices to communicate with the base stations (BSs) parallely and constantly. In this manner, there is need to have efficient solution for energy efficiency and quality of service (QoS) efficiency performances in M2M networks. This can be possible by designing the algorithms for MAC protocol. This project is presenting the novel energy harvesting algorithm for MAC protocol with a specific end goal to achieve the improved throughput and delay performances. In proposed MAC protocol, different wireless nodes initially harvest their energy adaptively and then involved in the processing of information transmission to minimize the delay and optimize the throughput. The main contribution while designing MAC protocol is use of dual sensing method to improve the throughput, delay and energy efficiency performances. This approach identifies the deafness, takes care of the concealed terminal issue and keeps the pointless hindering in M2M correspondences. © 2018 IEEE.

An Efficient MAC Protocol for Machine-to-Machine Networks Using Dual Sensing Strategy

This paper details about a framework for preceding obstacle detection for autonomous vehicles or driver assistance systems (DAS). Detection and tracking surrounding moving obstacles such as vehicles and pedestrians are crucial for the safety of people and autonomous vehicles. The proposed system uses four main stages: input, feature extraction, obstacle detection, and output of system. The system has input in video format which will be converted into frames. Feature extraction stage extracts LBP+LTP feature and Gabor feature separately. With the help of training set and extracted features, CNN will detect the obstacle in the frame. The system with LBP+LTP feature in cooperation with CNN gives 86.73% detection rate and 4% false alarm rate and the system with Gabor feature in cooperation with CNN gives 86.21% detection rate and 0.27% false alarm rate. From the proposed system, we can conclude that computer vision in combination with deep learning has the potential to bring about a relatively inexpensive, robust solution to autonomous driving. © 2019, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Obstacle detection for auto-driving using convolutional neural network

This paper proposes a novel topology of multimode matrix AC-DC converter which gives multiple DC outputs using a single AC input. The generated multiple outputs appearing across load has both polarity (Positive and negative DC voltages). The control scheme developed for this converter is consisting of Op_Amps and AND gates and IGBTs are used as power devices. The multiple dc output are synthesized using sinusoidal pulse width modulation technique. A prototype model of proposed converter has been implemented and resultant voltage and current waveforms are analyzed. It has been observed that experimental and simulation results are promising for industrial applications with variable voltage. © BEIESP.

Implementation of single phase multimode matrix AC-DC converter

The increase in population leads to increment in pollution and accident as well. Technological development makes great efforts to detect the accident and monitor the increasing pollution. This paper is based on enhancement in the smart vehicle system. Different units implemented in this paper which enhance the vehicular system. The main objective is to detect accidents in real time and minimize the response time of medical help. For accident avoidance, tire pressure is measured whereas in accident detection is implemented with the help of node MCU. MQ7 is used in order to monitor the pollution. The proposed system is useful in reducing the vehicular accidents and pollution monitoring will help to know the environmental status. © 2018 IEEE.

Vehicle Collision Detection and Avoidance with Pollution Monitoring System Using IoT

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are instrumental facilitators in the development of the Internet of Things (IoT). In the smart world of IoT, energy efficient data gathering is an essential requirement to extend the sustainability of the network. In WSNs, Data Aggregation Trees (DATs) are employed for energy efficient data gathering. While DAT gathers data, it is imperative that the network provides enhanced Quality of Service (QoS). Constructing a DAT that caters to the requirements of the application results in improved QoS. This work explores QoS of DATs with Network Lifetime (NL) as a parameter for QoS. QDD, an algorithm to enhance QoS of DATs with Deterministic Network Model(DNM) is proposed. In DNM, any two sensors either communicate or they do not. However, in practical scenarios the communication between a pair of sensors is probabilistic and is represented using the Probabilistic Network Model (PNM). QDP, an algorithm to enhance QoS of DATs with PNM is proposed. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms and demonstrates improved QoS through DAT path refinements.

Study on Query-Based Information Extraction in IoT-Integrated Wireless Sensor Networks

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) mostly affects the people as a result of diabetes and it leads to blindness. Diabetic retinopathy (DR) affects the eyes as a result of increased blood glucose levels. Among people in the 70-year-old age group, 50% of deaths are associated with diabetes. Detection of diabetes at a early stage and taking a proper treatment can reduce vision loss among the patients. Once DR symptoms are recognized, the severity of the disease must be assessed in order to prescribe the correct medication. There are five stages of severity of diabetic retinopathy, Mild Non Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy (NPDR),Moderate NPDR, Severe NPDR, Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy(PDR) and No DR(Diabetic Retinopathy).This paper summarizes DR detection methods and problems.

Diabetic Retinopathy Detection: Methods and Challenges

The human ear is a very delicate, sensitive and complex organ. Woefully, any damage to the ear, whether through any disease, injuries, revelation to extreme loud noise, some medicines or may be the effects of old aging, can cause the ear to damage or glitch. Approximately 467 million people in the whole world are suffering from hearing loss and 34 million of these are kids, but only few people out of this statistic use the hearing aid. The drawbacks and disgrace associated with wearing a hearing aid due to large size, patient's dissatisfaction with the performance of hearing aid, the cost and the life of battery. Considering present hearing impairment all over the India as well as world, it is very much necessary to explore new technology and idea to satisfy the need of deaf people in the society.This paper explains the concept of various audiograms for speech processing in hearing aid, various algorithm for impedance matching, various techniques for filter bank signal processing algorithm using Fast Fourier Transform and Wavelet transform and echo cancellation techniques [5] that have low complexity in terms of hardware, a lesser power dissipation, consumes lesser area, so that the total power dissipation consumption and area and size of the hearing aid can be minimized and will also enhance speech Intelligibility by using suitable filter. © 2019 IEEE.
