The intensity growth of manufacturing industry in India is increasing the demand of CNC turning centers. The producers of CNC turning centers are trying to fulfil this demand. The quality and reliability of such CNC turning centers is critical for manufacturers and users to meet the market demand. In this context, it is required to identify the potential failures and minimize their occurrence probability. Failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) is a robust methodology used to study the risk and reliability of various systems. In this paper, FMEA methodology is used to analyze the risk involved in the operation of CNC turning centers. The objective of the analysis was to identify critical failure modes, components and sub-systems. The study uses field failure data from more than 50 CNC turning centers and more than five industrial experts. FMEA results are further compared to the failure rates obtained from the field failure data. The results of the FMEA analysis are useful for system reliability improvement and optimizing maintenance. Electrical and electronic components have higher failure rates compared to mechanical components. CNCS, MT, XZAS, HS, ChS and SS are found to be critical sub-systems.

Failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) of computerized numerical control (CNC) turning center

Computer system is widely used across the globefor several purposes in different fields and failure in thissystem is natural. It is not acceptable as it might lead to lossof important data. There are several reasons which cancause the computer system or an application to crash or fail,thus causing loss of important data lead to redo all theactivity or task, user was performing before the systemcrashed. Our system proposes a solution to this problem bybacking all the data to the cloud and thus can be restoredwhen the system recovers from the crash, allowing toresume the task which the user was initially performing.

Application Backup And Restore Across Multiple Devices

Concentrated Solar Radiation flux mapping is one of the most important and critical exercises to assess the peak flux and net thermal energy of any Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) concentrator. The flux distribution analysis is important in design and performance prediction of concentrator and in design of receiver size and its material. This paper presents the comparison of experimental and numerical results of flux distribution on flat receiver carried out for small heliostat field. Here thermocouple method is used to find the flux distribution on the flat receiver due to small heliostat field. The proposed Heliostat field is designed for 100 m 2 heliostats mirror area. Initially the flux reflected from four heliostats of one row is experimentally determined by using thermocouple method. The rays reflected from the heliostat are targeted on the central flat receiver kept at 13 m from the heliostats and 2 m top from the ground. This test results provides the size of focus, the total solar radiation concentrated, peak flux, average flux, solar flux distribution within the focus area. This flux distribution is compared with the ray tracing software SolTrace. The results of the SolTrace are used to predict the flux distribution of the total heliostat field of 100 m 2 .

Comparative Analysis of Experimental and Numerical Solar Flux Density Distribution from a Small Heliostat Field

Based on these records the system provides user with daily analysis as well as risk prediction based on the recorded data. Tech-Care: Personal Health Monitoring and Prediction System

Malaria is a fatal disease. It is transmitted from one person to another by the bite of female Anopheles Mosquitoes. The estimated cost of detection of malaria in India is 11,640 crore per year. There are various techniques to diagnose malaria of which manual microscopy is considered to be the gold standard but it takes more time. The proposed method not only improved the degree of accuracy of the analysis but it provides double checked to verify the correct results. The proposed work used various image processing techniques like image acquisition, image pre-processing, segmentation, feature extraction using regional descriptor, feature detection using edge detector and then classification using particle swarm optimization support vector machine. The classification work in two levels, the first level is applicable for checking the presence of malaria parasite in red blood corpuscles and the second level is detect the type of malaria parasite using particle swarm optimization support vector machine. This proposed work is mainly focus on detection accuracy, false match rate, computational time, less estimation time for parasite detection and complexity. In this way, the detection of malaria parasite may be give faster and accurate results. TO DEVELOP AN AUTOMATED MALARIA DETECTION USING REGIONAL DESCRIPTER AND PSO SVM CLASSIFIER

This paper presents on Casting as a manufacturing process which is used for making components of complex shapesof molten metal in mass production. Casting may experience many different defects such as porosity, incompletefilling, etc. Improving and maintaining the casting quality becomes an important task. Gating/riser system design iscritical to improve the casting quality. Different gating systems have different effects on the quality of castings. Twogating systems namely stepped and tapered runners were used to cast strip samples with different thicknesses byCO2/silicate process using sand grain sizes of AFS 151 and 171. Mould coating has effects on the properties of thinwall ductile iron. To access this, half of the moulds were coated while the rest were left uncoated. Molten metal withthe carbon equivalent of 4. 29% was prepared and poured at 1450º C. The results obtained by this experiment arestudied and thus, the effect of different gating systems is studied. Also, the mold filling affects the gating design.During light metal casting processes, the quality of a casting can be considerably affected by the pattern of moldfilling. In this study, the effect of gating design including gate geometry and size on the flow pattern was presented bypouring molten metal of aluminum alloy A413 into a sand mold. The experimental results indicate that the pattern ofmold filling is greatly influenced by the size and geometry of the gate and the ratio of the gating system.

Effects of Gating System on the Mechanical Properties & Quality of Metal Castings

In this paper, we propose a two-factor data security protection mechanism forpathology laboratory system. Our system allows a pathologist (sender) to upload anencrypted information of patient on cloud storage server. The pathologist (receiver)needs to possess two things in order to decrypt the cipher text. The first thing ishis/her secret key stored in the computer. The second thing is a unique personalsecurity device which connects to the computer. There are two types of storages in thesystem. First one is private data storage and second is public data storage. We have toupload and download data on private storage with the help of security device and inpublic data storage we can download data using secret key via e-mail. This process iscompletely transparent to the third party (admin). The security and efficiencyanalysis show that our system is not only secure but also practical.

Securing Information of Pathology Lab using Two-Factor Data Security Mechanism in Cloud

Depression is a mental disorder that affects not only the thoughts but also the body and behavior of the person suffering from it. Depression detection, as of today, is limited to analysis of the patient by the psychologist, which is prone to subjective bias. Although depression is a mental disorder, it affects various physical attributes like eye movements, voice modulation, urine, saliva, etc. These effects, if observed and analyzed, can be used for designing tests wherein the physiological parameters are observed and depression is detected objectively, thus reducing the burden on psychologists. This paper gives a systematic review of the studies undertaken for analyzing the effects of depression on different physical attributes.

Different Parameters for Computational DepressionAnalysis: A Review

Nowadays, we find students having ‘n’ abilities. It is difficult to predict, if a person is a good speaker, is he good at studies? If a student is good in academics, is he/she good at communication skills? There are many machine learning techniques identified as a paradigm is modeling of student’s academic performance. This work is aimed at predicting student’s performance on the basis of various factors and him/her his/her area of weaknesses to be handled and strengths to be enhanced. This system will predict student’s academic performance, behavior, personality, and mental ability.

Recommendation System for Performance Enhancement of Students

In recent time World Wide Web or web is collection of billions of web pages growing exponentially by the means of public transport, social media, online shopping, blogs etc. This highly generated data is stored, for a large duration of time results into big data. Big data can be in structured, unstructured or semi structured format. This exponential growth of web pages generates huge data which is beyond the capability of relational database. Analysis of such large data cannot be handled easily using traditional data mining tool. Thus Data mining is being researched intensively and combined with soft computing domain, which uses mathematical algorithms to segment data and analyze the probability of future events. In the paper we mention about the evolutionary clustering technique Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm on web data, fetched with the help of crawler and preprocessed by removing stop words and stemming. Then an improved numerical statistic method, Term Frequency Inverse Document Frequency is applied on the preprocessed data to derive the importance of a word with respect to a set of documents and overcome traditional TDIDF issue of inter class consideration. A parallel PSO clustering technique is applied on this data to get optimized clusters with higher accuracy and minimize computational time by preserving compactness of intermolecular distance between particles.
