The sun is an outstanding energy source for mankind. It is clean and comes to the earth for free. There is no need to drill and refine it or mine it out of the ground. The devices needed to gather its energy are simple, quiet and non-polluting. International environment protection initiatives have led to the intensification of research efforts on development of ozone and global warming safe refrigeration technology. In recent years, increasing attention is being given to the use of waste heat and solar energy in energizing refrigerating systems. Solar powered refrigeration and air conditioning have been very attractive during the last twenty years, since the availability of sunshine and the need for refrigeration both reach maximum levels in the same season. The adsorption refrigeration is based on the evaporation and condensation of a refrigerant combined with adsorption. The paper describes the design and fabrication of the experimental chamber, the experimental procedure and its feasibility towards development of an alternative eco friendly refrigeration cycle for replacement of chlorofluorocarbons. The objective of this paper is to establish an alternative eco-friendly refrigeration cycle for producing a temperature usually encountered in a conventional refrigerator. By manufacturing such type of refrigerator adds new dimension to the world of refrigeration. This refrigerator gives some amount of relief to the refrigeration world by making it independent of electric power supply and zero running cost.

Design and development of intermittent solid adsorption refrigeration system running on solar energy

Engine cooling fans are an essential component of the engine cooling system which is used to dissipate the excess heat generated by the combustion of fuels inside the engine. This project consists of designing the fan and analyzing it for its strength in structure using the Finite Element Method (FEM) approach and the flow of air around it using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) approach. An important factor for successful fan design is to fully understand the complex flow field within the fan. This understanding enables optimization. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) techniques can be beneficial to provide insight to the fan design process. Not only can velocity vectors and pressure contours be computed, CFD can also provide critical information such as efficiency, flow uniformity at the exit, circulation or separation zones, locations of potential cavitations and noise generation. The design of the fan was conducted in phases, starting with calculating all the required dimensions followed by analytical models to prove the concept. Accordingly, finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics were performed on simulation models. The overall shape of the first iteration was conceptualized with the aid of the above guidelines. The results obtained from the analytical studies indicated a potential for a successful design that met most of the above outlined parameters.

Design and analysis of engine cooling fan

This paper aims to proposed emotion recognition using electroencephalography (EEG) techniques. Recognizing emotion by using computers is becoming popular these days. This paper is based on calculating EEG signals and recognizing emotion from human brain activity. Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals are taken from the scalp of the brain and assessed in responds to several stimuli from the four basic emotions on the IAPS emotion stimuli. Features from the EEG signals are captured using the Kernel Density Estimation (KDE) and classified via the artificial neural network classifier to recognise emotional condition of the subject under test. Results are obtained to prove that the proposed modified KDE gives better results in terms of accuracy. Also, the proposed method gives better estimation of emotion of the subject from streaming EEG data by using the concept of cluster kernels. © 2015 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

Raga plays an important role in Indian classical music. Raga is made up from the swara or note. According to characteristics of raga, Indian classical music is further divided into two systems Hindustani / North Indian classical music, Carnatic / South India classical music. This paper introduces us with some basic terms in Indian classical music and terms associated with raga. Segmentation of Isolated Handwritten Marathi Words

Soft computing techniques have emerged as a highly synergistic, computationally appealing, and conceptually unified framework supporting intelligent system design and analysis. The key contributing technologies of soft computing are neural network computing, fuzzy inference system, genetic algorithm or fusion of these techniques. This work proposes a method of analyzing cardiac signal (ECG) to diagnose cardiac events using adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) with scaled conjugate gradient (SCG). The wavelet energy gradient algorithm is used for delineation and extraction of QRS complex from ECG signal. Seven morphological features and three statistical features are extracted from QRS complex. Optimization of the feature set is done using K-means clustering. These optimized features are used for training the ANFIS network. The experimentation is carried out for six class classifications, analysis of classifier results into average sensitivity of 95.5%, specificity of 99.13%, positive productivity of 95.52% and classification rate 98.51% The proposed methods results are compared with traditional ANFIS method with subtractive clustering, and it is found that there is a significant improvement in performance parameters of adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system. © 2015 IEEE.
