Steganography is the art of hiding the existence of data in another transmission medium to achieve secret communication. It does not replace cryptography but rather boosts the security using its obscurity features. Steganography method used in this paper is based on biometrics. And the biometric feature used to implement steganography is skin tone region of images [1]. Here secret data is embedded within skin region of image that will provide an excellent secure location for data hiding. For this skin tone detection is performed using HSV (Hue, Saturation and Value) color space. Additionally secret data embedding is performed using frequency domain approach - DWT (Discrete Wavelet Transform), DWT outperforms than DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform). Secret data is hidden in one of the high frequency sub-band of DWT by tracing skin pixels in that sub-band. Different steps of data hiding are applied by cropping an image interactively. Cropping results into an enhanced security than hiding data without cropping i.e. in whole image, so cropped region works as a key at decoding side. This study shows that by adopting an object oriented steganography mechanism, in the sense that, we track skin tone objects in image, we get a higher security. And also satisfactory PSNR (Peak-Signal-to-Noise Ratio) is obtained. © 2010 IEEE.

Low Power Inverter and Barrel Shifter Design Using Adiabatic Principle

Wipe transition detection in video segmentation is more difficult to detect than abrupt and other gradual transitions, because of diversity in patterns, and difficulty in distinguishing wipe from camera and object motion. In this study, the authors propose an algorithm for wipe transition detection. In the proposed algorithm, first the moving strip due to wipe is obtained, which eliminate most of the edges due to object boundaries and retain true wipe boundaries, and then Hough transform is applied on these moving lines to detect and categorise various wipe types. In order to decrease the computational load of the proposed algorithm, the authors propose a preprocessing step as a first stage of the algorithm. The preprocessing step consists of calculation of statistical image difference between the consecutive frames to obtain the potential wipe frames, which are input to their proposed algorithm. The proposed algorithm detects and identifies various types of wipes and also distinguishes wipes from object and camera motion. The performance comparison of the proposed algorithm, with and without preprocessing, with other existing techniques clearly exhibit its effectiveness in terms of better recall, precision, F1 measure and detection rate. © 2010 The Institution of Engineering and Technology.

Effective algorithm for detecting various wipe patterns and discriminating wipe from object and camera motion

Sharply increasing need for portable electronic devices has reinforced the need of low power design methodologies in the recent years. Adiabatic logic style is proved to be an attractive solution for low power digital design. The energy is recycled back to power supply instead of being wasted. Many researchers have introduced different adiabatic logic styles in the past few years. This paper discusses the implementation of three quasi-adiabatic logic styles and analyzes the charge flow. All the inverter circuits are designed using 180nm technology in Cadence design environment.

FEA \&amp; Experimental Investigation of spring back effect in rotary draw bending of seamless metal tube

In Optical Character Recognition [OCR], machine printed or handwritten characters/numerals are recognized. There are plentiful approaches that deal with problem of detection of numerals/character depending on the sort of feature extracted and different way of extracting them. This paper presents a novel method for handwritten Marathi (Devnagari) numerals; most popular in Indian subcontinent. The proposed work focuses on feature extraction i.e. the global features; namely, Fourier descriptors and chain code of the binary images representing isolated Marathi numerals are extracted as features. These feature vectors are fed to SVM classifier that has been trained to recognize Marathi numerals. The system has been tested on varieties of image of isolated handwritten Marathi numerals. Experimentation result shows the recognition rate of 98.1%.

CAPTCHA stands for Completely Automated Public Turing Tests to Tell Computers and Humans Apart.A CAPTCHA is a program that protects websites against bots -automated scripts by generating and grading tests that humans can pass but current computer programs cannot. For example, humans can read distorted text but current computer programs can't. The threats from bots is growing rapidly and also increasing in technical sophistication causing various types of attacks. These attacks are affecting social aspects of human beings. Human being or legitimate users are cheated by false requests disturbing their social life. This paper aims to provide secured authentification by verifying strength of CAPTCHA. The strength of CAPTCHA can be verified by solving it. The CAPTCHA solving has mainly three steps such as preprocessing, segmentation and character recognition. The input distorted image of CAPTCHA is passed through preprocessing module which removes noise and gives raw image which is then segmented. These segmented characters are recognized using pattern-matching technique achieving 88% accuracy. The result shows that this algorithm provides secured social relevance to avail free Internet services and in turn improve usability of well-claimed CAPTCHA. © 2010 IEEE.

Algorithm for secured online authentication using CAPTCHA

Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine is a standard for handling, storing, printing, and transmitting information in medical imaging. The National Electrical Manufacturers Association holds the copyright to this standard. It was developed by the DICOM Standards committee. The other image viewers cannot collectively store the image details as well as the patient's information. So the image may get separated from the details, but DICOM file format stores the patient's information and the image details. Main objective is to develop a DICOM image viewer. The image viewer will open.dcm i.e. DICOM image file and also will have additional features such as zoom in, zoom out, black and white inverter, magnifier, blur, B/W inverter, horizontal and vertical flipping, sharpening, contrast, brightness and .gif converter are incorporated. © 2010 American Institute of Physics.
