Road transport is an important aspect of routine transportation. This paper describes the tie-down methodology for transportation container for safe transportation conditions comprises of applying known acceleration inputs (varying frequencies) to the given container and correlating the response on a virtual simulation model using FEA software. The required input for FEA is taken from Indian road conditions includes accelerations in lateral, longitudinal and vertical directions on the transportation container. Experimentation is done through multi-axis simulation table (MAST) is used for determination of acceleration factors using low-frequency excitation signals which are generally linked with transport vehicles. The results are compared with FEA results in order to develop a methodology for the prediction of acceleration factors on transportation container. The developed solution has been successfully tested on taking an industrial component and verified. The same may be used for prediction of the dynamic behavior of the industrial component.

Development and Validation of Transportation Methodology by Predicting Dynamic Behavior of Container for Safe Transportation

Background: The performance of Mobile Ad-hoc Networks get severely degraded due to various attacks including Selfish Behaviour attack. The detection of malicious nodes and avoidance of such nodes for data forwarding is important to enhance the MANET’s performance.Methods: A probabilistic model based on Single Sided Laplacian distribution for the random ON/OFF switching time of this attack is proposed. The model is used to make appropriate decisions regarding assignment of trust levels to suspicious nodes. The proposed protocol, based on this trust along with Confidence values of nodes, referred to as OLSRT-C protocol is used to select the optimum path for data forwarding. Simulations are carried out using Network Simulator NS2.35.Results: The random behavior of Selfish Behaviour attack is analyzed by considering all the possible random parameters. The random deployment of mobile nodes, number of malicious nodes, number of times the malicious nodes switch and timing instances at which these nodes change their states are considered. From the results, it is observed that, the OLSRTC protocol gives stable performance for Packet Delivery Ratio and Routing Overheads whereas for OLSR protocol, Packet Delivery Ratio gradually reduces and Routing Overheads increase, for percentage of malicious nodes increase from 10% to 50%. For OLSRT-C protocol, Average Energy Consumption per node increases marginally compared to OLSR protocol.Conclusion: The proposed OLSRT-C protocol successfully mitigates randomized Selfish Behaviour attack with marginal increase in the Average Energy Consumption per node. The Protocol Efficacy for OLSRT-C protocol is much higher compared to OLSR protocol.

Cryptography at its very core is nothing but math - pure, simple, undiluted math. Math created algorithms that are basics for various encryption algorithm. Encryption is a method in which user’s confidential data or private data is encoded to cipher text and this text can be read only if it is decrypted by authorized user using the right key. Cipher text can be decoded back to plain text, only by the authorized users using a right key. Various encryption algorithm are used to encrypt the plain text to cipher text and the cipher text is decrypted back to plain text by authorized user using right key. The symmetric key algorithm uses the same key to encrypt the plain text and decrypt the cipher text. In this paper we have proposed new symmetric algorithm using ASCII value. The plain text using key and ASCII values is converted to cipher text. Encryption algorithm sends cipher text and minimum value to the authorized receiver. Receiver decrypts the cipher text to plain text using same key and minimum value. In this algorithm sequence of five pseudo random number is generated and sum of this five pseudo random number is added to the obtained decimal value. Seed to generate common sequence of pseudo random number is kept secret between sender and receiver. Proposed algorithm support variable key length and plain text size. This algorithms performs faster when text is small message, but the execution time increases as the plain text size increases. This algorithm can be used to send small messages in a secured way. .
