Embedded System Design for 3-Phase BLDC Motor

In today's economy, 3-phase Brushless DC motor (BLDC) applications are greatly diversify, including automotive and industrial. Further, BLDC motor are used in medical equipment, home appliances, building controls and mainly in EV sector like micro-mobility such as E-Scooter, E-Bike, electric skateboards, electric water bikes and hover boards. The micro-mobility market primarily concerned with passenger transportation for shorter distances ranging from 5-10 miles (8-16 km) such as office and college campus or inside the smart cities.BLDC motor with 3-Phase configuration is used in micro-mobility sector because it provides high efficiency, lightweight, longer lifetime, low maintenance cost etc. To provide all the functionality its necessary that speed of the motor controlled using some algorithm or proper methodology.In this paper, the motor controller design with an algorithm is stated. To control speed of motor based on the throttle signal given by the rider as well as to increase safety functionality. Main purpose of the given technique was to control motor speed of the micro-mobility system. Based on the input signal the required motor speed was obtained. © 2022 IEEE.
