Dr. Kiran Patil is seasoned , well-trained Chemical Engineer and academic leader. Professor Kiran Patil has over 25 years of experience as a passionate teacher, researcher, and competent academic administrator. He previously held the positions of Head, School of Petroleum, Polymer, and Chemical Engineering (from 2018 to 2021), Head, School of Chemical Engineering (from 2017 to 2021), and Head, School of Polymer Engineering (from 2015 to 2017) at Dr. Vishwanath Karad World Peace University. He has worked as Director-Examination, Polymer, Petroleum & Petrochemical Engineering, University of Pune (under 125/2011). MIT, Pune (2012-2019).
Professor Patil's areas of expertise include Separation Science and Engineering, Reaction Engineering, and Catalysis, Environmental Engineering as well as Modeling and Simulation of Complex Chemical Engineering Processes. He has published over 50+ research papers , edited two research volumes, written four book chapters and four technical books on Chemical Engineering, and delivered over 40+ invited lectures at various academic Institutes .Dr. Kiran Pail’s significant academic and research contributions are truly multidisciplinary covering Chemical (including engineering/technology), Petroleum, Petrochemical engineering, mathematical, and environmental sciences. The common theme that binds his contributions is experimental investigations, design of experiments, modeling and extensive application of commercial software in Chemical engineering such as Aspen Plus®, UNISIM™, and MATLAB® etc.
He is a Peer Team Member at NAAC in Bangalore. NBA-AICTE, New Delhi has nominated him as a Margadarshak, (मार्गदर्शक) and he is mentoring some HEIs in western Maharashtra for NBA accreditation. He also serves on a number of academic and research committees at several HEIs, as well as guiding in the pursuit of high-quality education. He has worked as Director-Examination, Polymer, Petroleum & Petrochemical Engineering, University of Pune (under 125/2011). Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune (2013-2019).He has received Ideal Teacher Award from, MIT Group of Institutions (2009), Best Professor in Petroleum Engineering (2013), Best Professor in Polymer Engineering (2017) and Best Professor in Chemical Engineering (2018) from BSA and Dewang Mehta Business School, Mumbai. Recently he has been conferred “Shiksha Bharati Award-2020”, in recognition of outstanding professional achievements and contributions in nation building from Indian Achiever’s forum, New Delhi (2020). He has been invited by UPSC, New Delhi and MPSC, Mumbai to work as Advisor on Panel for selection of various scientific posts in various state and central government departments.
