Dr. Sunil S. Pimplikar is currently working as a Program Head M.Tech Civil (Construction and Management) in MIT-WPU. He has a total industry, teaching and research experience of 32 years. His research interests are accident studies based on geopathic stress, Total Quality Management in construction (TQM), Contracts Management (CM) and Human Resource Development (HRD). He is a member, Board of studies (B. O. S.) in Civil Engineering and Board of studies (B. O. S.) for Peace subjects at MIT-WPU. He is also the ex. coordinator of the Board of Studies (B. O. S.) and Examinations for Civil Engineering at the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), was ex. member of Faculty of Engineering, and is presently member (B. O. S.) Civil Engineering appointed by Vice chancellor SPPU. He is also the member of the Research and Recognition committee (R & R) for Civil Engineering in SPPU.
He is presently teaching the Post Graduate students of Construction Engineering and Management and guiding their research projects. He is a faculty member of the Centre of Peace and teaches peace related subjects to Post Graduate students. He is guiding Research Scholars in Civil Engineering under MIT-WPU.
Dr. Sunil S. Pimplikar is a member of the Rotary Club of Pune, Sinhgad Road, and has actively been involved in organizing Rotary youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) competitions for national character building in youth and fostering peace components amongst them. He is instrumental in organizing blood donation camps for students on campus.
He has conducted training programs for the Engineers at Indian Railway Institute of Civil Engineering (IRICEN) and Leadership Training Programs for Private firms, based on Stephen Covey’s– best seller book–7 habits of highly effective people. He worked as a jury member for the Silicon 2016 awards given for residential and commercial projects and for the Well Built Structure Competition (WBSC-2017 and WBSC-2018) awards for Industrial, Infrastructure, Commercial and well mechanized, well equipped categories of construction projects, organized by the Builders Association of India, (BAI) Pune chapter.
He is a Life Member of the Indian Road’s Congress (IRC), Ferrocement Society of India (FSI), Indian Society of Hydraulics (ISH) and Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE), Indian Institute of Lean Management (IILM).
His hobby is to perform Indian Classical Music on the instrument “Sitar” and has rendered private programs for interested music lovers, and teach the peace related subjects at MIT-WPU to post graduate students.
