Performance in virtual teams - A conceptual overview

Employee monitoring has gained importance from different interest groups-Commercial organisations, employee interest groups, privacy advocates, professional ethicists and lawyers. It is a practice of organizational management. It is about surveying the employee's activity through various surveillance methods. The objectives of employee monitoring can be performance tracking, avoiding legal liability, protection of trade secrets and also to focus security concerns if any. The policy of monitoring and surveillance is likely to have a negative effect on employee satisfaction and employee privacy though, it is essential to identify and prevent unacceptable behaviour of employees if any. Employee monitoring trend has evolved gradually as a result of technological innovation. This research paper analyses the impact of employee monitoring practices in organisations. The study proposes organizational theories, privacy theories, control theories and resource theories so as to address the employee privacy issues. These multiple theories indicate multiple dimensions focusing on the proactive approach or a backup plan mediating between organisational policy and behaviour of employees. Result of the study indicates that Employee Commitment level dependents on employee's perception about their privacy at workplace. This perception is influenced by management practices such as organisational policy and prevention of misuse.

ORGANISATIONAL CITIZENSHIP BEHAVIOUR AND ROLE OF INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP

Organisational effectiveness is fundamental for sustainability and profitability. Effectiveness is measured observing the degree of profit, the reduction of the costs, the production quantity, efficiency and organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB). OCB is the willingness of an employee to perform tasks which are not officially and directly required by the employer, thus do not have any official and direct recompense from the contractual relations. This discretionary behaviour is always related to an enhancement perceived by the organisation. The review covers the last three decades of research and development in the organisational citizenship behaviour literature and has a special focus on literature from 2010 to 2019. Research led to consider these main outcomes of OCB namely compliance, altruism, organisational justice related to a fair environment workplace, perceived organisational support (POS) related and enhanced by a higher level of collectivism, power distance and uncertainty avoidance; procedural justice (PJ); transformational leadership (TSL) and the psychological contract (PC). This research would assist academicians, corporates and the general public understands the concept by the critical analysis conducted.

Productivity is the most important factor for any industry or the organization. There are number of factors on which the productivity of the organization depends upon. And employee turnover is considered to be one of the challenging issues in the today competitive business nowadays. The employee turnover has received considerable attention by the organizations this days as it is very closely related to the growth and development of any organizations Employees turnover is an important issue for not only the automobile industry but also the service and IT industry.It has proven to be one of the most costly and seemingly inflexible human resource challenges confronting by several organizations globally All important factors such as Productivity, overall efficiency, quality etc gets affected by an issue of employee turnover.
