This paper discusses the suitability of R-161 refrigerant over other refrigerants. Apart from having zero ODP and a very low GWP value of 12, R-161 refrigerant can prove a promising alternative to existing alternate refrigerant and various other HCFCs facing the fate of phase out. The paper discusses various experimental results obtained in different research and discusses them on the basis of COP, discharge temperature, Cooling capacity and Power consumption. Five different research works were studied to make a firm comment on the effect of use of R-161 on the above mentioned parameters. The general finding show that R-161 refrigerant give better COP, increased refrigeration effects and lower discharge temperatures. Power consumed by use of R-161 was found to be greater than other refrigerants. In order to suppress the flammability property of R-161, some research done with a mixture of R-161 & other refrigerants, with same thermodynamic property was also included in this study. Similar results were obtained from them.

Study of R-161 refrigerant as an Alternate Refrigerant to various other refrigerants

A FRP butt-joint was developed between two adherends of aluminium pipes of outside diameter 25.5 mm, inside diameter 22 mm and length 175 mm. The joint was formed by winding wetted roving of carbon fiber with controlled quantity of epoxy at ±45° angle. It was cured to form the joint with CFRP working as a sleeve. The joint was simulated using ANSYS software, for two kinds of loading i) tensile loading and ii) flexural loading. Under a four point bend test with thin CFRP sleeve (n = 80), the failure occurred at the maximum load of 3470 N, due to breakage of CFRP at the joint plane. When the CFRP sleeve was made thicker (n=150), the aluminium adherend failed due to formation of plastic hinges in the aluminium adherends outside the CFRP sleeve.

The problems of heat conduction resulting from a moving heat source applies to many fields of engineering such as welding, surface hardening, moving friction between mechanical parts, laser treatments etc. Heat source models are used to define the heat flux distribution in the domain.An attempt has been made to gather the information about moving heat source problems and different heat source models. The optimal design reduces failure rates, improves product life cycle and important to all it will find out defects due to temperature distribution within the material. The analytical solutions are available for simple problems but as the complexicity increases the analytical solutions fail to predict results. Numerical method is a key to solve many complicated mathematical problems.

A Review Paper on Numerical Simulation of Moving Heat Source

In situ polymerization of pyrrole was executedin the presence of expanded graphite to synthesizepolypyrrole–expanded graphite composites (PPy/EG) bychemical oxidation method. The PPy/EG composites have beenprepared with various compositions (2%, 5%, 7.5%, 10% wt.%) of expanded graphite in pyrrole. Morphology of thecomposites has been examined by scanning electronmicroscopy (SEM). The polypyrrole-expanded graphitecomposites were also examined by X-ray diffractometry (XRD)and Attenuated total reflectance (ATR). The a.c. conductivitybehavior has been analyzed by LCR-Q-Meter-SORTER. Thepresence of expanded graphite in the matrix have an excellenteffect on the observed conductivity values. The results showedthat these composites are of preferably technological andbusinesslike interest.

Synthesis, characterization and conductivity studies of Polypyrrole-Expanded Graphite–composites

In order to join parts successfully in a robotic welding application, individual parts must be aligned precisely and held securely in place while the welding is proceeding. An important consideration, then, is the design of a fixture which holds the individual parts in the proper alignment. The tool must allow for quick and easy loading, it must hold the parts in place securely until they are welded together and must allow the welding gun unrestricted access to each weld point. However, loading and unloading stationary jigs of the robot cell can be time consuming and impractical. It is often more efficient to have two or more fixtures on a revolving workpiece positioner, despite a higher initial cost. With a revolving table for instance, the operator can load and unload while the robot is welding. Obviously, this speeds up the process and keeps the robot welding as much of the time as possible.

All the researchers have done study of engine performance parameters with addition of H2 or O2 and with turbocharger & supercharger. I have done experimentation on intake side development of SI engine. No any research should be done on injecting the oxyrich air into intake manifold by using pure oxygen. So this research to improve the performance of SI engine & reduces the amount of fuel consumption & due to complete combustion the pollution of SI engine is also reduced. Therefore the research may be done on oxyrich air for combustion of fuel in SI engine. Here I have found brake specific fuel consumption with and without oxyrich air energizer, determined brake thermal efficiency of the system. Also I have checked all emission parameters of SI engine with and without oxyrich air energizer. I could find Mechanical & Volumetric efficiency of engine with and without oxygen blending. For developing the experimental set up for oxyrich air energizer, I used computerized MPFI 4 stroke petrol engine test rig.

Performance Evaluation of Four Stroke SI Engine with and without Oxyrich Air Energizer at 1000 rpm

In this modern age, civil engineering constructions have their own structural and durabilityrequirements. Fiber Reinforced Concrete (FRC) is a composite material made primarily from hydrauliccements, aggregates and discrete reinforcing fibers. Fiber incorporation in concrete, mortar and cement pasteenhances many of the engineering properties of these materials such as fracture toughness, flexural strength,resistance to fatigue, impact, thermal shock and spalling.The FRC is a composite material made of cement, fineand coarse aggregates and discontinuous discrete steel fibers. Recently developed an analytical model topredict the shear, tensional strength and bending torsion behavior of fiber reinforced concrete beam withexperimental substantiation. However, very little work has been reported in combined torsion and shear.Similarly to beam with conversional reinforcement, the presence of shear may significance influence ontensional strength of fiber concrete beams. Present paper investigates the mechanical properties like as shearstrength, and torsion strength of concrete with different types of steel fiber with constant volume fractions anddifferent aspect ratio.A primary finding emerging from the experimental program was that the placement offibers, increased load carrying capacity of high strength fiber reinforced concrete [HSFRC] beam. Ductility,toughness significantly improved.

Experimental Study of Steel Fiber Concrete Beams for Shear, Bending and Torsion

This paper presents a useful knowledge of ejector working principles and its applications in refrigeration technologies. Two-phase flow ejector is used as an expansion device in vapour compression refrigeration systems is one of the efficient ways to enhance its performance .The expansion process (isenthalpic process) represents one of the most important sources of irreversibility in the conventional vapour compression refrigeration systems. Use of a two-phase flow ejector instead of the conventional expansion device is one of the efficient techniques to improve the system performance not only by recover the expansion process loss by generating isentropic expansion process but also by increase the system cooling capacity and decrease the compressor power. Most recent investigations have been concentrated on transcritical ejector-expansion refrigeration cycles (EECs) because of the large improvement potential owing to the high throttling loss. Subcritical EECs have received much less attention because these cycles offer relatively lower improvement potential through the ejector action.

A Review on Performance of Air Conditioning System using Two Phase Ejector

The main objective of this work is to prepare MR fluid and investigating the various shape of flask and to determine the effect of various shape of tools on the surface of MS specimen and also verifying the stability of prepared MR fluid by using magneto rheological abrasive flow finishing process. So, in order to establish the process, the experimental set up is developed on which various trials have been conducted by considering the various shape of the tools and shape of flask. The magneto-rheological fluid consists of CI particles with mesh size 300, nonmagnetized Al2O3 and SiC abrasive powder with mean sizes of 67.496 and 326.04 μm respectively. Combinations of the two abrasives, Al2O3 and SiC, with CI particles were used with servo 4T oil as a carrier fluid. It was observed that the removal rate increases with increased percentage of polishing abrasives. The relative increase depends upon the amount and type of abrasives used. Hence the improvement in surface roughness is considered as an outcome of the process.
