E-POCKET BASED PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM

This study involves the photo-catalytic degradation of rhodamine-B (RB) employing heterogeneous photo-catalytic process. Photo-catalytic activity of different semiconductors such as titanium dioxide (TiO2) and niobium pentaoxide (Nb2O5) has been investigated. An attempt has been made to study the effect of process parameters through amount of catalyst, initial concentration of dye, and operating pH on photo-catalytic degradation of RB. The experiments were carried out by varying pH (2-11), amount of catalyst (0.25-1.5 g/L), and initial concentration of dye (10-50 mg/L). The optimum catalyst dose was found to be 1 g/L of TiO2 and 1.25 g/L of Nb 2O5 for RB at 30 mg/L respectively. The maximum rate of degradation was observed in acidic medium at pH 3 for catalyst TiO2 and Nb2O5 respectively. It was observe that the photocatalytic activity of TiO2, is greater than Nb2O 5.

An Overview of the Research on Texture Based Plant Leaf Classification

Helical coil heat exchangers are popular because of compact structure with enhanced heat transfer coefficient by passive heat transfer enhancement technique. Due to these advantages helical coil tube heat exchangers are widely used in various applications like power plants, nuclear reactors, refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, heat recovery systems, chemical processing and food industries. The analysis of the helical coil heat exchanger with different operating and geometric parameters is presented in this paper. The analysis shows that both operating and geometric parameters are having influence on heat transfer characteristic. The analysis of heat transfer coefficient and Nusselt Number with respect to Reynolds number with different correlations and its signifence is discussed in this paper. The effect of geometric parameter on performance of helical coiled tube heat exchanger is also presented in this paper. © 2013 Praise Worthy Prize S.r.l. - All rights reserved.

Effect of geometric and operating parameters on performance of helical coiled tube heat exchanger

With the recent advancement in the mobile technology, devices are equipped with location computing facility. Devices are mounted with real entities such as human, animals, vehicles etc. In Location Based Services, user carrying device seeks service and hence user's location information is compromised and can be misused by service providers. In this paper, we present the review and propose the enhanced mechanisms to protect the location privacy of mobile users. It necessary to observe that to get quality of service, user needs to send precise location, while to protect privacy, we need to have balanced view regarding revealing location to service provider. Quality of service, Performance, Energy consumption, Network bandwidth consumption and Privacy strength are the parameters of importance which should be the objectives of research while providing the location based services. © 2013 IEEE.

Survey and review of location privacy techniques in location based services

Forming/drawing is a compression-tension process involving a wide spectrum of phenomenon and flow conditions. The process result depends on the large number of parameters and their interactions. The selection of various parameters is still based on trial and error methods in most industries. In this paper a new approach is presented to optimise the geometric parameters of spring seat - circular geometry component, process parameters such as blank holder pressure and coefficient of friction, etc. The optimisation problem has been formulated with the objective of optimising the draw load. In present work genetic algorithm is used as a tool for the optimisation, to optimise the draw load and process parameters. Spring-seat forming optimisation with genetic algorithm

Personalization is omnipresent everywhere in today's modern world applications. It is primarily employed to improve user experience by adapting and learning from the patterns and information extracted from the user. There are various methods of making a system learn from the user behaviour. This paper gives a review of some of the techniques used for user profiling and personalisation systems. The paper puts forth the characteristics and advantages of user profiling and why it is so essential in today's world, with specific reference to internet usage. It also explains which factors of the usage should be taken into consideration and the importance of these factors in user profiling. The paper elaborates on the studied techniques with respect to internet usage because of its ever-growing nature, complexity in learning from the vast source, adapting to changes in usage patterns and the ultimate objective of providing a better user experience while being on-line. The commonality and differences in various proposed techniques are also summarised and highlighted. © 2013 IEEE.

Comparison of Personalisation Systems

A different type of load draws non-sinusoidal current from the mains, degrading the power quality by causing harmonic distortion. These nonlinear loads appear to be prime sources of harmonic distortion in a power system. In addition, the harmonic currents produced by nonlinear loads can interact adversely with a wide range of power system equipment, most notably capacitors, transformers and motors, causing additional losses, overheating and overloading and interferences. The aim of this paper is to review an active power filter that commonly used to mitigate harmonics. Thus, to solve this harmonics problems The system is verified by simulation using Matlab/Simulink simulation package. The paper starts with a brief overview of harmonic distortion problems and their impacts on electric power quality, how the active power filter mitigate this problems and the verifying using Matlab software. The proposed filter minimizes the harmonic distortion is within an acceptable range

Reduction In Harmonic Distortion Of The System Using Active Power Filter In Matlab / Simulink .

The amount of construction waste has been dramatically increased in the last decade, and social and environmental concerns on the recycling of the waste have consequently been increased. Waste concrete is particularly crucial among the construction wastes. Recent technology has also improved the recycling process. In this rapid industrialized world, recycling construction material plays an important role to preserve the natural resources. This study aims to evaluate physical properties of concrete using recycled coarse aggregate. In this research concrete waste is from demolished structure (Near Kamla Nehru Park, Bhandarkar Rd, Pune) has been collected and coarse aggregate of different % is used for preparing fresh concrete. The amount of recycled coarse aggregate used in this research is approximately 125 kg. Many researchers state that recycled aggregates are only suitable for non-structural concrete application. This research, however, shows that the recycled aggregates that are obtained from concrete specimen make good quality concrete. The compressive strength of recycled coarse aggregate (RCA) is found to be higher than the compressive strength of normal concrete when used upto a certain %. Recycled aggregate concrete is in close proximity to normal concrete in terms of split tensile strength. The slump of recycled aggregate concrete is more than the normal concrete. At the end it can be said that the RCA upto 50 % can be used for optaining good quality concrete.
