Drones have seen enormous applications in the world and continue to progress rapidly. But the main issues faced by drones are low flight time, high noise, and lower thrust-to-weight ratio. It makes the drone vulnerable in the long run, with lesser domains for application. The paper includes a passive method to decrease the noise of the <a href="https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/materials-science/propeller">propeller</a> primarily. It is an experimental investigation of the proposed hypothesis. Using a cased diffuser can be helpful to counter the issues faced. It was found that the noise levels had dropped by 5% after using a diffuser casing. Along with that, there were other parameters like thrust and energy consumption, which have also improved by up to 110% and 17% respectively as a result.

IoT-Based Localization of Elderly Persons

The Indian construction sector is emerging as the third-largest sector to take our country toward a $5 trillion economy. However, all industries, including the construction industry, are facing new challenges in this crisis. Specifically, challenges pertaining to delay in delivery of projects, time, and cost overruns have become prominent. In the real estate sector, there is huge demand for housing in our country i.e. 11.2 million dwelling units in urban areas and 29.5 million dwelling units in rural areas in India by 2022. To deal with such a huge demand where the construction industry is already facing many problems, it is real-time to adopt the new construction technologies. As the conventional method of construction is a time and cost-consuming process, it is mainly labor-intensive where the quality of construction is a crucial issue. So for addressing these problems, the government of India has taken the initiative called Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana: housing for all urban and rural by 2022. Under this scheme, 54 new technologies have been approved under 6 different categories by the BMTPC. Consequently, there are several technologies available for low-cost housing but it is challenging to recommend one technology for a countrywide practice. In this paper, the components of the prefabricated sandwich panel system (falling under one of the 6 categories) are discussed in detail further the various opportunities and onsite challenges coming out while implementing this technology are enlisted and possible solutions are provided. © 2022

Analysis of challenges and opportunities of prefabricated sandwich panel system: A solution for affordable housing in India

Blockchain is an emerging technology, nowadays looked at it as a solution for most of the security issues of any system. It is a breakthrough to the traditional way of developing the applications which provides robust features in security, sharing the information, and immutability. Blockchain is digital ledger, and every transaction is considered as one record. This data is stored in encrypted format, and the series of records are linked in such a way that any tampering of the data is close to impossible. This literature study is focusing on the usage of blockchain in agriculture domain in supply chain. Researchers have provided various innovative solutions to improve on traceability in supply chain of food, fruit, vegetables, and seeds. The study of literatures helps to understand the new technical concepts that make blockchain as an effective solution, for e.g., BigchainDB to avoid decentralized database issues, use of activation key for authorization, and combination of blockchain and SQL database to improve the performance and efficiency. It is also observed that the combination of IoT with blockchain will bring error-free data entry and easy to use it improving traceability in the supply chain. Literature Review on Presentation Attack Detection using Deep Learning

The birdwatching community in India is extensive. Wildlife enthusiasts often face difficulty in identifying a particular bird. There exist, separately, object detection Machine Learning models as well as online directories for manual bird identification, but there is no approach combining the two for easy identification of birds in India. We present a technique that uses object detection algorithms such as Faster R-CNN and YOLOv5 to solve this challenge. Our dataset includes a total of 60 species of birds found in Maharashtra. Furthermore, these methods have been tested on datasets of various sizes to provide a thorough comparison of the two techniques and to better understand their behaviour as the dataset size and classes grow. The YOLOV5 model trained on 100 epochs for 3000 images achieved a mAP score of 0.78 whereas Detectron2 when trained on the same dataset achieved an IOU score of 0.001. These methods have not been tested on a dataset containing birds from peninsular India, particularly Maharashtra. As a result, we intend to extend the dataset and make bird identification easier for birdwatchers. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Analysis of object detection techniques for bird species identification

Air pollution from the large-scale combustion of fossil fuels has prompted researchers to look for alternatives. A viable alternative to the use of petroleum diesel must be technically possible, commercially viable, environmentally friendly, and affordable. Through a variety of techniques, biodiesel can be produced from renewable and low-grade sources, and it has the potential to become a viable alternative energy source. Cost-effective and environmentally friendly catalysts are expected to be frequently used in the biodiesel production process for the transesterification of several feedstocks. There have been several investigations into the conversion of the oil into biodiesel by homogeneous/heterogeneous catalysis and new heterogeneous catalysts are constantly being tested. Separation and leaching in harsh reaction conditions are two of the many challenges associated with the employment of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts respectively. Because of its great efficiency, researchers are increasingly interested in applying nano-catalysts for the generation of biodiesel. The development of nano-catalyst applications is the primary factor driving this growth. A review of several nano-catalysts utilized for biodiesel production from different feedstocks, as well as an evaluation of the major operational variables that influence biodiesel production and the accompanying obstacles in the transesterification process, are presented in this article. © 2022 Elsevier Inc. A review on application of nano-catalysts for production of biodiesel using different feedstocks

The use of environmentally friendly materials in construction has become increasingly possible due to advancements in green technology. There are several sustainable materials derived from industrial waste that aid in reducing embodied energy and maximizing the use of renewable resources. Technology is the key to successful projects that advance green building. Various green building technologies with temperature reduction, wastewater systems, energy efficiency, photovoltaic powered cooling system, etc are represented in this paper. In green building, a building information model (BIM) and ontology are used to manage multi-disciplinary activities. SWRL and OWL models based on the Jess rule engine are combined to improve building efficiency. Sustainable materials which are obtained from industrial waste help to reduce the carbon footprint on the environment. The strength, workability, and density of these materials are increased by the usage of various activators. Smart materials operate based on external factors such as sensors, weather conditions, and so on. Smart materials are used in the Electro-Mechanical Impedance (EMI) approach to detect structural flaws in a structure. In smart homes, technology can be used to control energy consumption. Shape Memory Alloys, fiber optics, piezoelectric materials, magnetorheological fluids, and electro-rheological fluids are examples of smart materials used in smart, sustainable urbanization. The Internet of Things (IoT) developed a method for collecting construction data that reduced the structure's cost. The research will recommend appropriate techniques and materials for the Indian scenario to achieve long-term sustainable goals for the country. © 2022

A comprehensive review on emerging trends in smart green building technologies and sustainable materials

In India the number of two-wheelers is greater than the cardinal number of parking spots available, hence people tend to park their vehicles at undesignated spots and open spaces which increases the risk of damage to the vehicle. To prevail over this situation, we contemplated, designed, and came up with a solution. Park Shield predominantly aims towards providing an all-inclusive system for two-wheeler vehicles that notifies the attempts of theft and live location tracking for your vehicle with absolute authentication of the users. The uniqueness of the system is that it can be controlled using an android application with authorized users registered on the database. In case the vehicle is hoisted or hauled, the live location update with an alert notification will be sent to the owner's cellular device via the application. © 2022 IEEE.
