Data Hiding or Steganography has been an important communicated network since people started communicating in writing. The main aim in steganography is to hide a secret message within cover media in such a way that an observer cannot detect the presence of contents of the hidden message. Cover images are original images without secret data and after embedding secret data they are called as stego images. Steganography and cryptography are counter parts in digital security the obvious advantage of steganography over Cryptography is that messages do not attract attention to themselves, to messengers, or to recipients. The progress in steganography has also led to many serious problems such as hacking, compression, reformate, etc. Steganography finds its role in attempt to address these growing concerns. We know that, with the use of steganographic techniques, it is possible to hide secret information within images, Audio and video files which is statistically undetectable. This paper proposes a new data embedding technique which uses two pixel sequentially one after another which is kwon as pixel pair matching (PPM) technique. The basic idea of PPM is to use the values of pixel pair as a reference coordinate, and search a coordinate in the neighbourhood set of this pixel pair according to a given message digit. The two pixel is then replaced by the searched coordinate to store the digit. The APPM method offers lower distortion than DE by providing more compact neighbourhood sets and allowing embedded digits in any notational system.

Face recognition is the task of identifying an already detected face as known or unknown face and has attracted much attention due to its potential value in security, biometrics and law enforcement applications. One of the most difficult challenges in automated face recognition is computing facial similarities between face images which are acquired in alternate modalities. To address this problem Heterogeneous Face recognition comes takes place. Heterogeneous face recognition (HFR) involves matching two face images from alternate imaging modalities, such as sketch to a photograph or an infrared image to a photograph. The Proposed work is based on experimentation using Heterogeneous Face Recognition framework using Prototype Random Subspace Approach for both probe and gallery images which are represented in terms of nonlinear similarities to a collection of prototype face images. The proposed work will be evaluated on various performance parameters with accuracy as the main focus and pre-processing time required for filtering the images using DOG, GF, and CSDN filters. This framework performs equally well for different modalities whereas the focus of the study is specifically for Face Photo-Sketch Recognition Accuracy and Recognition time required using DOG, GF, and CSDN filters. The accuracy of this nonlinear prototype representation is improved by projecting the features with the help of PCA The outcome of this work will be useful in the areas like forensic sciences, video surveillance etc. The paper also shows a comparative study of Heterogeneous Face Recognition framework for both probe and gallery images which are represented in terms of nonlinear similarities to a collection of prototype face images and an approach to Heterogeneous face recognition which needs feature descriptors that are effective within each domain.

Heterogeneous Face Recognition Framework using Multiple Filters forPerson Identification

For rapid development of network technology data is needed to be communicated over the network. Although network transmission is convenient and fast, the data is often attacked. Steganography is used to hide the data in the images. Images used for carrying data are called cover images and images with embedded data are called stego images. Data is embedded in the images in such a way that it should be detected by human eyes and it should be robust so that it offers resistance to various image processing methods and compression. In this survey paper our focus is on development and current status on data hiding techniques in spatial domain of images. Keywords-Steganography, stego image,least significant bit(LSB), optimal pixel adjustment process (OPAP), diamond encoding(DE).

Data Hiding Techniques: Survey and current status

Wireless sensor networks is emerging technology these days. There is very wide range of uses of this technology, from military purpose to medical purpose. The sensor are small and compact and can be deployed anywhere. These sensors are low in cost. So it performs important tasks for low cost. They can be deployed in hundreds to some thousands in quantity. This makes wireless sensor networks prone to different types of attacks. One of them is Node Replication attack. In this attack the attacker takes the Id of one legitimate node and make replica of it and place those node inside network. As sometimes the sensor transfers confidential data so it is important to protect it from these types of attacks. Different algorithms are developed to detect these replicated nodes. In this article we are proposing a detection algorithm that can be used to detect replication attack. This algorithm is named ND-RED(Neighbor Division-Randomize Efficient Distributed) Algorithm.

EFFICIENT APPROACH TO DETECT NODE REPLICA INWIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS

The three concepts of information science are data, information and knowledge. The structure of one is different from another. The structure of knowledge is more complex than data and information. Knowledge management is complex for traditional information management techniques due to its complex structure and it is difficult to achieve common structure for knowledge captured from heterogeneous sources. Ontology is an upright technology to represent knowledge. Ontology provides homogeneous structure for knowledge acquired from heterogeneous sources. It enables knowledge sharing within and among organizations. Ontology based knowledge management provides a better support for integration of related knowledge sources and searching. The current work proposes an enhanced and clear framework for knowledge management using domain ontology. It addresses major issues of traditional and existing ontology based knowledge management systems. Many Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, including stemming, part of-speech tagging, compound recognition, de-compounding, chunking, word sense disambiguation and others, have been used in Information Retrieval (IR). The core IR task we are investigating here is document retrieval. Several other IR tasks use very similar techniques, e.g. document clustering, filtering, new event detection, and link detection, and they can be combined with NLP in a way similar to document retrieval. NLP and IR are very different areas of research, and recent major conferences only have a small number of papers investigating the use of NLP techniques for information retrieval. The moderate success contradicts the intuition that NLP should help IR, which is shared by a large number of researchers. This article reviews the research on combining the two areas and attempts to identify reasons for why NLP has not brought a breakthrough to IR. Natural language processing (NLP) is becoming much more robust and applicable in realistic applications. One area in which NLP has still not been fully exploite d is information retrieval (IR).

Educational Knowledge Management System Using NLP and Ontology Schema

Digital fundus images (DFI) are obtained from the retina and graded by Ophthalmologists. Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a common retinal complication associated with diabetes, that may result in permanent blindness. Progression of DR is assessed by its severity, which in turn determines the frequency of examinations. Computer assisted monitoring has been a demand of the hour as there is a significant shortage of professional observers. Fast assessment of blood vessel network plays an important role in a variety of medical disorders. To extract blood vessels from DFI, image enhancement techniques, morphological operations and post-segmentation processes were employed to generate a segmented binary image.
