For millennia, tea has been served as a non-alcoholic beverage and has long been thought to have health advantages. Various sorts of tea have evolved over time, depending on the type of tea leaves used, the harvest season, and the cultivation and manufacturing processes used. Green tea is a popular beverage derived from the tea plant Camellia sinensis. It has been consumed by millions of people all over the world for thousands of years. Green tea contains proteins, amino acids, carbohydrates, minerals and trace elements, lipids, sterols, vitamins, xanthic bases (caffeine, theophylline), pigments, phenolic acids (gallic acids), polyphenols, and volatile compounds. Numerous claims about the benefits of its consumption are stated in traditional systems of medicine. Green tea and its constituents are found to have anti-inflammatory, antiarthritic, antibacterial, antiangiogenic, antioxidative, antiviral, neuroprotective, and cholesterol-lowering effects. It aids in the prevention of several cancers, heart diseases, and liver diseases. Long-term use of tea catechins may help to prevent obesity and diabetes, as well as lower the risk of coronary heart disease. Green tea has been shown to have an impact on psychopathological symptoms, cognition, and brain function. A simple, precise bioanalytical UPLC Tandem Mass Spectroscopy gradient elution method was developed and validated for simultaneous estimation of Olmesartan Medoximil (OLM) and Metoprolol Succinate (MET) in human plasma. The quantitation carried out using Shimadzu Shimpack-C18 GIST AQ (50 mm X 2.1 mm, 1.9 µm) column and the mobile phase A comprises of 0.1% formic acid and mobile phase B as acetonitrile used for gradient elution. Analysis completed within run time of 4 min at the mobile phase flow rate of 0.3mL/min. The retention time of metoprolol succinate and olmesartan medoximil were 1.029 min and 2.514min, respectively. Analytes were extracted using acetonitrile as extracting solvent. The method validated in terms of linearity, accuracy, precision, lower limit of quantitation, method sensitivity and various solution stability parameters. Linearity of olmesartan medoximil and metoprolol succinate was in the range of 5-1500ng/mL. All the method validation parameters were determined as per ICH, EMA and FDA guidelines and falls under the stated acceptance criteria. The presented work provides a validated bioanalytical method for simultaneous determination of olmesartan medoximil and metoprolol succinate in human plasma. The method is accurate, simple, precise, fast and suitable for its application for bioequivalence and pharmacokinetic studies. © RJPT All right reserved.

Development and Validation of Bioanalytical Method for Simultaneous Estimation of Olmesartan medoximil and Metoprolol succinate by UHPLC-MS/MS in human plasma

It is common for dyes to be utilized in a wide range of industries such as leather and textiles as well as the printing, paper, and packaging industry. Most dyes fall into a dangerous category of water toxins that have had a significant impact on the ecosystem. Dye removal from wastewater can be done in a variety of methods. It is now necessary to develop advanced and cost-effective methods. Organic dyes may be removed from textiles using adsorption, which is a more effective and environmentally beneficial process. Nanomaterials are a more attractive option for dye removal because of their unique characteristics. An approach to the synthesis, characterization, and dye removal capabilities of nano-metal oxides-activated carbons is presented. This review also includes a discussion of several operating parameters associated with the adsorption process, adsorption isotherms, kinetics, thermodynamic behavior, and reusability of the adsorbent. © 2022

Nano-metal oxides-activated carbons for dyes removal: A review

This research is focused on designing, synthesis and biological evaluation of a series of coumarin based benzothiazole derivatives. The ligands were identified by docking study for antioxidant and antibacterial potential using target proteins PDB:4H1J and PDB:3G75, respectively. The target molecules were synthesized as a series of substituted N-(benzothiazol-2-yl)-2-oxo-chromene-3-carboxamides (7a–h) by condensation of substituted benzo[d]thiazol-2-amines with in situ synthesized substituted 2-oxo-2H-chromene-3-carbonyl chlorides. Infrared spectroscopy and 1H- nuclear magnetic resonance spectra were used to characterize the synthesized molecules. In vitro antioxidant activity of compounds was evaluated by DPPH and H2O2 radical scavenging assays. Antibacterial potential of compounds was evaluated using well diffusion method against Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 25923), Escherichia coli (ATCC 25922) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC 27853). Among synthesized derivatives, 7a showed good antioxidant potential whereas 7f showed antibacterial activity, which might be employed as lead molecules for future investigation for respective activities. © 2022 Indian Drug Manufacturers' Association. DESIGN, SYNTHESIS AND EVALUATION OF N-(BENZO[D]THIAZOL-2-YL)-2-OXO-2H-CHROMENE-3-CARBOXAMIDE DERIVATIVES AS POTENTIAL ANTIOXIDANT AND ANTIBACTERIAL AGENTS

In the present study, Zinc oxide nanoparticles andSilver Oxide nanoparticles were evaluated for their in vivo and in vitro antidiabetic activity. The resulting ZnO, Ag2O were characterized via various methods like UV, XRD, FTIR, PSA and SEM, TEM, and ICP-OES. The synthesized NPs were tested sub-acute oral toxicity model by abiding by the OECD425 guidelines. The male Wistar rats with a weight ranging from 180-200 g were grouped as follows: normal control: those that didn't received any treatment, Diabetic control: who received a single intraperitoneal dose of streptozotocin (45mg kg(-1)), Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles: received single daily oral dose of (30mg kg(-1)), Silver Oxide Nanoparticles: received a single daily oral dose of (30mg kg(-1)) Combine Zinc Oxide and Silver Oxide Nanoparticles (60mg kg(-1)). Metformin received a single daily oral dose of 100mg kg(-1). Synthesized Zn and Ag2O nanoparticles showed no toxic effect and were considered safe. From the experimental results, it may be concluded that the combined dose of ZnO and Ag2O had more potent antihyperglycemic activity, further studies are required to establish the mechanism of action.

APPLICATION OF CO-CRYSTALS TECHNOLOGY IN PHARMACEUTICALS

Objective: As a condition of acceptance and approval of any pharmaceutical product, stability studies ensuring the durability of the consistency, stability and efficacy of the product during the shelf life are taken into consideration. These studies should be conducted according to the guidelines provided by ICH, WHO and other agencies as intended. Methods: The aim of this research was to evaluate the stability of the budesonide solution in some solutions and excipients and to further study the production of budesonide nanoparticles. In order to study the Budesonide stability mixture of solvent and polymers were used. To study the effect of temperature and relative humidity on the stability of budesonide preparations, prepared mixtures were stored under Accelerated (40 °C±2 °C/75 percent RH±5 percent RH), Intermediate (30 °C±2 °C/65 percent RH±5 percent RH), Long-term (25 °C±2 °C/60 percent RH±5 percent RH) and at 2-8 °C. Results: Budesonide showed good compatibility at defined stability conditions in one month. Such type of preformulation compatibility study is necessary in preparation of nanoparticles. Conclusion: It would be helpful in screening and identifying a suitable solvent, polymer and mixture at a desired concentration.
