According to a survey by Global Data, the size of the Indian construction market was $609.6 billion in 2021 and is projected to increase by more than 6% between 2023 and 2026. However, project delays have a particularly negative impact on the residential sector. The construction industry should minimize activity-related delays to meet these objectives. A project will be deemed successful if it is finished within the allotted time. Researcher indicates that, more than 55% of projects ran over budget and delayed because there was poor coordination and communication across various departments and divisions. Because of the poor coordination and communication project got delayed. Coordination is crucial for reducing delays, and managing activities also guarantees that time is managed. The customer, contractor, and consultant must establish good communication and coordination to maximize project productivity. All employees must be familiar with the project and understand what they are responsible to do and also understands the coordination they are supposed to make. There are some methods like impact-as-planned, collapsed-as-built, time impact analysis, where coordination is not important but these are the methods important for understanding and calculating the delay. While the previous researchers have understood the major problem in the delay on construction site, is the coordination. As the researchers’ research that more than 55% projects get delayed. Coordination is really important for the speedy construction among the different departments in the company. Augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) can be helpful for coordination and these are not used techniques in the previous construction work. AR enables the visualization and on-site modification of architectural designs. Compared to traditional drawings, the VR model offers a better overview and details of the design. AR and VR will aid designers in visualizing and developing their creativity. Author first selected a case study of a residential project and then created a model using AR and VR for further evaluation. The author will be employing BIM-based models for deploying AR and VR technology. G + 20 residential buildings are taken into account in this. Delay Analysis of Residential Construction by Using Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality

Sustainable building projects gained momentum in the last decade, and the trend continues. It is important to explore the factors affecting the sustainable building delivery process for concentrating on these factors and pace up the sustainability approach. Building information modelling (BIM) has developed as the definitive technology for managing construction projects. BIM technology has features like accuracy and precision that helps in improving the quality of construction. Green building construction methods and Lean construction are the methods that help to improve sustainability and reduce waste generated during construction. In this article, the author would like to propose a methodological framework that comprises BIM, Green building methods, and Lean methods. After implementation author is hoping to optimize resource utilization, monitor, and measure the construction progress and construction payment procedures. The author is believing that after the implementation of the framework, a virtual environment is prepared which brings more accountability in resource usage and tracking of project progress. Work also highlights the differentiating aspects of sustainable building projects regarding project phases and makes recommendations about the timing of services, such as value engineering, constructability analysis, technology integration, and construction management. The author considers one case study of a residential building and prepared a 3D model using BIM. Further, the author put lean tools and LEED-based methodology to produce the standard operating procedure for the case study considered. Then, a virtual environment is prepared using the 3D model in BIM, and the methodology is considered. Sustainable construction by using novel frameworks using BIM, LEED, and Lean methods

There is a significant increase in tunneling operations in most of the metropolitan cities of India for developing rapid transit systems. Provision of tunnels proves to be beneficial in densely crowded areas where availability of space is a major concern. Tunneling is a costly affair owing to the high number of uncertainties involved as compared to other infrastructure projects. The delay and cost escalations during construction of tunnel can be mitigated by identifying the uncertainties in the planning stage and taking appropriate steps during execution. This requires a robust model incorporating the most significant risk factors affecting the projects. In the present work, an exhaustive list of risk factors affecting tunnel projects is extracted from comprehensive literature review on tunnel construction. The list is augmented through interaction with stakeholders and collection of field data. This exercise provided an extensive pool of factors, which can't be completely incorporated while formulating the model to reduce delays. This work attempts to identify most critical risk factors from the pool. Prioritization of risk factors from the pool is done with a framework using RII [Relative Importance Index]. The pool is classified in a 3-level hierarchical structure. Expert opinion regarding relative importance of each factor is captured through a questionnaire survey and relative weights are assigned. This work is an attempt to compile and prioritize predictable risk factor database by merging a comprehensive literature review of scientific papers on tunnel construction projects and opinion of experts working in tunnel construction. The identification of critical factors in planning phase, may reduce complexity during execution. The proposed framework is expected to help researchers and decision makers to rank the risk factors and focus only on the most critical ones for minimizing the risks and reducing delays in project completion. © 2022
