Dr. Kishanprasad Gunale is a committed career counselor and a highly motivated academic professional. In 2019, he completed his Ph.D. at Savitribai Phule Pune University. He received First Class with Distinction in both his B.Tech. and M.Tech. degree from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University, Lonere, in 2001 and 2006, respectively.
He joined MAEERs, MIT Group of Institutions, Kothrud, Pune, in the year 2012, and since then contributed to the growth of the organization in the areas of academic processes, industry collaboration, research, and industry-based competitions like Smart India Hackathon, IIT-B e-Yantra, Texas Instruments, KPIT Sparkle, TCS Code Vita, L&T TECHgium, etc.
He is instrumental in setting up an IIT Bombay Remote Center and is involved in running Faculty/student Development Programs under National Mission on Education through ICT, for the overall development of students and faculty. He has organized FDPs on “Foundation Program in ICT for Education” and “Pedagogy for Online and Blended Teaching-Learning Process” as a workshop coordinator. Initiated IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorial activity for the promotion of self-learning,1000+ students have taken benefit of the same.
His significant contribution in terms of industry collaboration involves signing the MoU of MAN Trucks and Buses, Devise Electronics, and ARAI MIT-WPU joint Ph.D. Collaboration, Tech Mahindra Makers Lab, KPIT Technologies. In order to provide students with quality internships, PPOs, and Placements, he developed relationships with numerous prominent industries. Consequently, the School of ECE has connections with more than 100 industries for internship opportunities. As an internship and placement coordinator for the School of Electronics and Communication Engineering for the previous three years, he actively worked on students' technical skill development in accordance with industry requirements, incorporated industry input for curriculum enhancement, trained students who saw increases in average and highest pay and facilitated paid internships.
He firmly believes that teacher is a facilitator of learning and has faith in practicing innovative teaching methodology. He worked in various academic administration roles such as coordinator of NBA accreditation, academic Coordinator, curriculum planning and execution, strategic planning, hackathon coordination, training programs for skilling, and Ph.D. Entrance examination coordination, internship, and placement coordination. At the university level coordinated the MIT-WPU Hackathon - 2021, also he is actively involved in MHRD- Smart India Hackathon Coordination, which led to students performing consistently well and winning. In RIDE-2022 he served as the Mentor Student Connect coordinator at the university level
He is a highly motivated academician who has consistently been committed to completing the tasks allocated to him for the benefit of the student community, and he has distinguished himself in implementation and execution.
He has a keen interest in ADAS systems, Computer Vision, Embedded systems, and Automotive electronics. He has a total of 22 years of teaching experience and taught various subjects in the Automotive, Mechatronics, and Computer Vision domains at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Fifteen papers in the computer vision and automotive fields have been published in reputable journals and conferences. He filed a total of four patents, out of which two are in the examination stage and 1 copyright to his credit. At KPIT Technologies, he recently finished a two-month sabbatical where he worked on the “Development of FlexCP model using Autosar”. In addition to this, in the year 2014-15, he completed 15 days of training sponsored by KPIT Technologies on the Automotive Electronics and Autosar domain.
Involved in corporate training and consultancy service in the area of Automotive Electronics and fetched consultancy of Rs. 1.42 Lakhs. He has applied for various funding proposals to DST, MODROB, and AICTE. Under AICTE-ISTE Induction/Refresher Program, Rs. 93000/was approved to this team for organizing the “Professional Development Programme for Digital Transformation in Teaching and Learning". He has been invited as an expert in conferences and seminars on computer vision and is a reviewer for SCOPUS and the ESCI journal. His contributions to the KPIT Sparkle competition, the Industry-Academic Conclave (INDCON-2019), admission responsibility, and coordination of Hack-MITWPU-2021 all received letters of commendation.
The importance of learning outside of the classroom cannot be overstated. In order to help today's students and create professionals who are prepared for the workplace, he intends to serve as a change agent for the adoption of innovative learning strategies for modern pedagogy to improve the teaching-learning process.
