Robotic systems are known for their precision and accuracy. To achieve a desired set of operating parameters the system must have a good control system. Robotic arms can vary in size shape and purpose of use. With increasing DOF (Degree of Freedom) the complexity of the system increases and hence a DAQ system is required to check various parameters of the process. This paper discusses the implementation of kinematic and inverse kinematic modelling of a 6 Degree of Freedom (DOF) hydraulic arm in MATLAB environment. The forward kinematic model is based on Denavit-Hartenberg parameters. To obtain a given set of position and orientation of end effector, inverse kinematics gives the required set of joint angles. Potentiometers mounted on arm joint are used as the prime feedback elements for extracting the joint angles. All six joints of the arm are revolute joints. The values of potentiometer obtained are compared to the desired input values. Proportional direction control valve is the main controlling element of the hydraulic circuit. The forward and inverse kinematics is validated and implemented in MATLAB robotics toolbox (developed by Peter Croke). A GUI is also used to ease the process of retrieving and feeding the information in the system. The results of forward and inverse kinematics from MATLAB are verified by the physical model discussed in this paper. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

the amount of waste produced is increasing at a faster rate with the increasing population. Major portion ofthe waste is dumped as landfill waste and the major problem in solid waste disposal is plastic bottle, metal cans, andglass bottles separation. They are separated manually and recycled so it is necessary to have a suitable solid waste solidwaste handling system. Currently there is no such system for it. This paper describes an automated waste segregation,and we are developing a prototype for separating plastic, glass and metal from solid waste material using PLC. Thissystem will use different capacitive, inductive proximity sensors to detect each object which is moving on the conveyorbelt and will be segregated into different bins with the help of pneumatic cylinders which will be controlled by PLC

Brake tubes are used to transmit hydraulic pressure generated by the master cylinder to the brake units in the wheels.We are designing the automatic press for fitting rubber sleeves into the bore of machine parts i.e. brake tubes for anIndustry application as organization is facing problem during assembly. As company was ordering these sleeves fittedparts from the vendor, vendors are manipulating the bore diameters. So, we are designing automatic press for fittingthese sleeves on bar pneumatically. This will reduce time required currently for fitting sleeves and will also reduceaccidents during fitting of sleeve into bar. It will also reduce the cost involved in defective sleeves. The project focuses onmaking the process of fitting the sleeves upon the brake tubes automatic so that it will be convenient and feasible as wellas overall expenditure of the process will become ultimately economical since it is one-time investment and this will savelabor cost and man power also

Design and Development of Sleeve inserting Machine

The items of confectionery like laddu, barfi, pedha, etc. are famous sweets in India. During festivities, people often place a large order of sweets to the vendor and expect the delivery of the sweets to be as soon as possible. In order to complete the order within required time, the vendor has to put in additional manpower. At the same time, maintaining the quality of the product. This can be achieved by using an SPM for large scale production for such demands. In order to cope up with demands to be fulfilled in shorter time span, automation can come in handy. The paper describes project to automate the process of making items of confectionery. The project aims to reduce the manpower and increase the profit by increasing the production rate and quality. It also aims to reduce the material wastage due to manual handling, adhering to safety regarding material used for constructing machine. The material used is food grade material to keep the machine hygienic and corrosion free. The paper evaluates the advantages of automation in food industries with supporting content.

Sweet product making companies have started to make a mark and succeed in Indian food industry over the few years by making use of automation. Traditional sweet making process works perfectly with human intervention but is unable to cope-up with the growing demand of the customers. This can be achieved by using an automated SPM for large scale production for such demands. Sweet making machines are available for different varieties, capacities; grades etc. In order to full fill the demands in shorter time span, automation of sweet making machines using microcontroller can come in handy. A mechatronics system that is developed for sweet making machine, which takes feedback from sensors and controls the function has been introduced in this paper.The paper also describes project to automate the process for sweet making. The project aims to reduce the manpower and increase the profit by increasing the production rate and quality. It also aims to reduce the material wastage due to manual handling.
