With the fast degradation of the environment and changing lifestyle of the consumers, the companies have started moving towards the concept of green marketing. Although green marketing has been able to address concerns of green consumers but as anticipated has not shown much expected results from companies as well as from mainstream consumers' acceptance level. This chapter is an attempt to draw attention towards sustainable issues in hotel industry, what are the opportunities' and challenges' the hotels are facing with respect to green initiatives and how successful the present companies are in incorporating the green practices.The authors conclude the chapter giving the focus on future research directions in green marketing and green practices to be followed by hotel industry.

After boldest step taken by the Modi's government in the form of Demonetization, study examined its impact on the people's buying behaviour towards online shopping. The study results as the initial sharp decline in cash on delivery purchases, gradually it forced the people to opt for online shopping through e-payment mode and recognize the customers view towards online purchases and the effect of demonetization on behaviour of purchaser i.e. how the general populace who have never utilized ATM, PAYTM, web-based shopping etc has progressed toward becoming digitalized. Impact of Demonetization on Consumer's Buying Behaviour Towards Online Shopping

Environmentalism has emerged as an important issue worldwide in the 21st century. The issues of environmental degradation and climate change show a critical challenge to sustainable development in India. Various green services initiated by the hospitality industry are being implemented which influence people to take environment-friendly decisions. Making consumers' environmental conscious or aware could be one solution to the problem. Several research analysis is being undertaken by the business community and academicians to identify consumers' behaviour while buying and using green products and services. However, this study aims to investigate Indian consumers' consciousness towards the environment and impact on buying and using decisions towards green services of the hotel industry based on their awareness level. By using a questionnaire method and random sampling technique, a total of 463 responses were collected from the domestic tourists. The present study confirms that Indian consumers are environmentally conscious. The result has concluded that if Indian consumers are environmentally conscious (EC) then they would have a positive willingness to pay (WTP) and would have positive green acceptance behaviour (GAB). This resulted in increasing the consciousness of consumers and take a favourable decision towards green services of the hotel industry. Green Services in Hotel Industry : A Changing Behavior of Indian Youths

Going green has become a new trend for Indian consumers. The perception towards green environment gave birth to the new insight of consumers. This study is guided by four research questions: (1) Identifying perception of Indian consumers about green attributes of hotels, (2) Identifying willingness to pay (WTP) of Indian consumers for green attributes of hotels, (3) Identifying the difference between the family income and willingness to pay of Indian consumers towards green attributes of hotels and (4) and identifying the relationship between the perception and willingness to pay of Indian consumers towards green attributes of hotels. The current study concluded that Indian consumers have a positive perception towards green products and services but positive perception of consumers does not have positive willingness to pay. Some Indian consumers are willing to pay for green products and services but many of them are not ready to pay an extra amount for the same. So it's a big challenge for the hoteliers to come out with those green services which can attract consumers. Also, they should make aware about the usage of green services and its importance so that consumers can easily buy without any hesitation.

Going Green: A Study on Consumer Perception and Willingness to Pay towards Green Attributes of Hotels

Industrial revolution and technology advancement as well as the misuse of environment resources has brought attention among the people towards the environment pollution and its exploitation. This paper aims to investigate the effect of different age group of consumers towards the usage of green services offered by the hotels. The structured questionnaires were distributed to 700 respondents, where 463 responses came out. After collection of data, ANOVA test has been used to know the difference among the different age group in their awareness, perception of consumers, preferences of consumers, willingness to pay and consumer green acceptance behavior and also, Tukey's Post hoc test in ANOVA has been used to determine which age groups differ from each other. The major findings suggested that consumers having age group of 29 years or younger and 40-49 years would have difference in their willingness to pay as compared to other age group of consumers but with respect to ecoliteracy, perception of consumers, preferences of consumers and consumer green acceptance behavior there is no difference among age different age groups. It implies that age can be the major moderating factor in influencing consumers in using green services in hotels.

Influence of Green Attributes of Hotels on Indian Consumer Behavior

Hotels are the most important part of the tourism industry, which contribute to the sector by offering services and facilities of extremely high standards. Today, the hospitality industry is becoming more aware about the environment-friendly services. However, whether Indian consumers are aware about the green attributes offered by the hotel industry needed to be analyzed. The present study examined the Indian consumers' awareness, perceptions and choice of preferences for the green attributes of the hotel industry. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire distributed to 300 respondents in Jaipur city, Rajasthan. The results obtained by using tests like chi square, percentage mean method and one sample t - test showed that there is a significant association between awareness, perception and choice of preferences for the green attributes of the hotel industry. Based on the results, the findings and implications are also discussed in the paper.
