The deoiled Jatropha cake obtained from biodiesel plant gives the sufficient quantity of bioethanol required for transesterification reaction (1). The chemical and enzyme pre-treatments followed by fermentation with saccromycesscervesse on optimized parameters gives the maximum yield. Bioethanol from fermented substrate was separated byvacuum distillation on 30P 0 Pc and 1 atmosphere . The sugar content increased by chemical treatment is 30g/lit results14g/lit of ethanol. The sugar content obtained by saccrification 60g/lit results 25g/lit of ethanol. The concentration ofobtained bioethanol was analysed by UV spectrophotometer.

Production of Bioethanol from deoiled jatropha cake

In a solar central receiver system, solar radiation is concentrated on a tower mounted heat exchanger (receiver) by the use of mirrors called heliostats. To compare the experimental and numerical result for getting the better Flux distribution on the solar central receiver system, a common basis of testing is desirable. This helps in the design and performance prediction of not only receiver, but also a complete system. The method consists of optical test characterization of receiver. This research presents the Focus Test on the receiver and its implementation on solar central receiver system. The test provides the size of the focus, the total solar radiation concentrated, flux distribution and concentration ratio. Result of this test gives the idea about design of receiver and choice of material. The SOLTRACE software, developed by NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory, United States) for the numerical work to find out the focus size and flux distribution on the receiver. By using this result with aiming point strategy in SOLTRACE software the even flux distribution and flux image size will be optimized.

Experimental and Numerical method to find solar flux density distribution on a receiver plate from heliostats

Unsaturated polyester/benzoxazine copolymer was employed to prepare polyester/benzoxazine/glass fiber compositelaminates and their mechanical, morphological, and thermal properties were investigated. Compared with those of 100UPR/0PBZ/10GFcomposites, the tensile strength and flexural strength of 90UPR/10PBZ/10GF composites with 10 wt % polybenzoxazine content wereincreased by 10 % and 6 %, respectively. The enhancements in mechanical properties are mainly due to the strong interfacial adhesionsbetween glass fiber and UPR/PBZ matrices, which were confirm by the SEM images of fracture surfaces of the composites. Curingbehavior of glass fiber filed composite was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry analysis. All UPR/PBZ/GF compositelaminates are thermally stable up to 270 0C in air. Furthermore, TGA thermograms revealed that the degradation temperatures ofUPR/PBZ/GF composite increased with compare UPR/GF composite. UPR/PBZ/GF composite laminates will have potentialapplications in the areas where require of excellent mechanical properties and high temperature resistance.

Studies on Thermal and Mechanical Properties of Glass Fiber-Reinforced Unsaturated Polyester/Benzoxazine Composites

Document clustering has been implemented in innovative ways but has till date refrained from making better use of data and information which can be extracted from the World Wide Web. Most research is dependent on static databases like the well investigated Reuters-21578 news corpus for news articles categorization analysis. This paper presents the use of a dynamic news database which is obtained by using a web crawler and this database is updated daily. On the fly clustering is performed and categories are given as input by the user. To reduce the volume of text being analyzed and avoid misleading results preprocessing techniques has been used. To understand the context of the articles and categorize them further TF-IDF has been performed in this experiment.

A step towards Interactive Document Clustering

Smart helmet safety system is the idea that has been developed for the social responsibil-ity towards the society. Recently the number of bike riders has increased so there is over-all increase in the number of motor bike acci-dents. The system assists in reducing major number of accidents. It consists of microcon-troller along with IR and PIR sensors for hel-met authentication followed by alcohol detec-tion with the help of MQ3 sensor. As soon as the bike rider try to start the bike it shall rst authenticate if the person is wearing the hel-met through IR and PIR sensors. Secondly, MQ3 sensor detects the presence of alcohol, if detected the bike wont start. It also detects fall detection through accelerometer. The project focuses on bike rider safety and reduction of accidents which are fatal.

Smart helmet safety system using Atmega 32

Serials of polystyrene/SiO2 Nano composites (PS/SiO2) with different content of inorganic fillers were successfully prepared by the in situ bulk radical polymerization of styrene under microwave irradiation. The effect of the amount of Nano SiO2 on the properties of the PS/SiO2 Nanocomposites along with the average relative molecular masses (Mn, Mz and Mw) was investigated by thermal analysis and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). Their structural model was proposed on the basis of the Optical Microscopy, FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared) analysis, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). The dispersion of nanoparticles in Polystyrene is observed in the magnified image. The effect of microwave irradiation power on molecular weight of polystyrene was also studied. It was found that, the microwave assisted reaction needs less time as compare to conventional polymerization and found to be in between 10 to 15 min.

Thermal Stability and Crystallnity study of Polystyrene/SiO2 Nano-Composites Synthesis via Microwave-Assisted In Situ Polymerization

The biggest challenge for knowledge management is how to make sure that right knowledge could be available to the right people on the right time for any purposes. Traditional search engines return relevant Web documents to keyword queries, where users have to read tedious documents to find the exact information they need. In collaborative environment where people work together with others to achieve a common goal, knowledge sharing plays a very important role. With the help of knowledge sharing one can get faster access to the information. But to find a person who can give the right knowledge is a challenging part due to variety of information needs. This proposed system finds an expert who provides a most relevant knowledge acquired by them to the user in collaborative environment. When the knowledge mining is integrated with expert search, the accuracy improves as compared to traditional methods. This knowledge sharing system helps to get the exact knowledge in less time and to save a lot of repeating efforts for the same task. Thus, it increases the performance of the system by using efficient techniques.

Expert Finding in Web Based Collaborative Knowledge Sharing Environment

An improved way of finding missing children is presented in the paper. It is very difficult, time consuming, tedious, and least efficient method to find missing children through traditional methodologies. Using the advanced method, the factor of facial transfiguration of a child is considered with increases the search efficiency. Large numbers of missing children cases are registered in their young age. These lost or kidnapped or missing children undergo huge facial transformation caused by several external, internal, and biological factors. Human face age progressed prediction is the recent upcoming research field which is used to study and decode these facial transfigurations efficiently. The facial image is being fragmented into parts to increase the granularity of face prediction with age progression. The growth curve of feature is used to predict the shape, size, and location of each and every feature at a different age. Hence, this increases the success rate of finding missing child. Various algorithms and image processing techniques are used to carry out this study. Effective Approach of Finding Missing Children using Face Age Progressed Prediction Method

The type of material used for a brake pad is crucial for its performance. The response observed in the form of wear could be traced back to the parameters during braking operation like speed, coefficient of friction, time of contact, etc. This work began with the identification of the typical value or levels for the parameters and has now concluded with the recommended levels while optimizing the performance in the context of wear. Taguchi methods have been deployed for statistical treatment upon ascertaining the normality of the data recorded during experimentation. L9 orthogonal array was chosen upon deciding the feasibility of recording the experimentation. For validation of the optimized values determined during the statistical treatment, the experiment was repeated with the proposed values. A good concurrence was found between the analytical treatment and the experimental results.

Experimental Investigation for Friction and Wear Behavior of Brake Pads and Parametric study using Taguchi Techniques

In this study, an attempt was made to prepare an activated carbon (AC) from bamboo by chemical activation method. Phosphoric acid (H3PO4) was used as a chemical activation agent for the production of AC from bamboo under conditions of temperature 600 °C for 1 h. The AC is an excellent adsorbent and its applications are widely described in literatures. Prepared ACs, are characterized by standard methods XRD, SEM, FTIR, XRF. XRD analysis is used to study the presence of highly organized crystalline structure for AC. SEM and FTIR analysis is used to study the surface morphology and to analyze the functional groups on the prepared carbons surface respectively. FTIR functional groups such as hydroxyl group, lactone group, and carboxyl group were obtained. XRF is used to study the different concentrations of inorganic elements present in the produced AC. The result also shows presence of fifteen elements with their concentration. Thus present study adds one more bio-waste source as useful raw material for preparation of AC.
