Developments in the technology and the Internet have led to increase in number of digital images and videos. Thousands of images are added to WWW every day. To retrieve the specific images efficiently from database or from Internet is becoming a challenge now a day. As a result, the necessity of retrieving images has emerged to be important to various professional areas. This paper proposes a novel fuzzy approach to classify the colour images based on their content, to pose a query in terms of natural language and fuse the queries based on neural networks for fast and efficient retrieval. Number of experiments was conducted for classification and retrieval of images on sets of images and promising results were obtained. The results were analysed and compared with other similar image retrieval system. © 2012 IEEE.

Hybrid technique for colour image classification and efficient retrieval based on fuzzy logic and neural networks

Recently, content based image retrieval (CBIR) has gained active research focus due to wide applications such as crime prevention, medicine, historical research and digital libraries. With digital explosion, image collections in databases in distributed locations over the Internet pose a challenge to retrieve images that are relevant to user queries efficiently and accurately. It becomes increasingly important to develop new CBIR techniques that are effective and scalable for real-time processing of very large image collections. To address this, the paper proposes a novel MapReduce neural network framework for CBIR from large data collection in a cloud environment. We adopt natural language queries that use a fuzzy approach to classify the colour images based on their content and apply Map and Reduce functions that can operate in cloud clusters for arriving at accurate results in real-time. Preliminary experimental results for classifying and retrieving images from large data sets were quite convincing to carry out further experimental evaluations. © 2012 IEEE.

MapReduce neural network framework for efficient content based image retrieval from large datasets in the cloud

This paper focused on peak to average power ratio (PAPR) reduction scheme for OFDM system. OFDM has several properties which make it an attractive modulation scheme for high speed transmission. the main draw back of OFDM is high PAPR. The high PAPR causes the interference and degraded the performance of the system while OFDM signal pass through the amplifier. Here a simple scheme clip and filter is used to reduce the PAPR of OFDM system. Simulation results are show that the improvement in performance of OFDM system by reducing the PAPR using clip and filter scheme. (C) 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd. PAPR Reduction scheme For OFDM

Optical Networks-on-Chip (ONoC) is emerging technology for future optical interconnects used in all optical networks. The electrical interconnects face lot of problems due to their inability to support higher data rates used in the System-on-Chip (SoC) technologies. Integrated optical interconnects based on SoC avoid this bottleneck with their support to higher data rates. In this paper for the first time we have studied and analyzed ONoC at physical level for the system performance based on crosstalk, BER, throughput, system frequency, and other related parameters. The investigation of ONoC performance is carried out for the multistage microring optical crossconnect on SoC for coherent WDM signals. The analysis can be used in the design of ultra-high speed photonic routers for reliable data communication and processing. The results show the dependency of a coherent crosstalk on the system frequency of SoC and also illustrate the reduction in throughput with increase in number of WDM signals due to higher probability of packet transmission. Minimum 2 dB signal to noise ratio can be obtained when crosstalk is -25 dB with 60 wavelengths for probability of packet transmission is 0.5. © 2011 Elsevier GmbH.

Coherent crosstalk in passive microring based Optical Networks-on-Chip

Document clustering is the task of grouping a set of documents into clusters so that the documents in the same cluster are similar to each other than to those in other clusters. One of the applications of document clustering is in web search engine retrieval system to help the users find relevant information quicker, and allow them to focus their search in the appropriate direction. K-means is a commonly used algorithm for document clustering, but it has some disadvantages. The main limitations of K-means are: 1) The number of clusters K has to be given as input and 2) Based on the initializations it converges to different local minima. 3) It is slow and cannot be used for large number of data points.4) It cannot handle empty clusters. In this paper, we have developed a novel algorithm to eliminate all these basic drawbacks of K-means.

In WSN the delivery of all sending packet is important so we called it as reliability. In transport layer reliable message delivery and congestion control are important factors. The aptitude of the network to ensure reliable data transmission in a state of continuous change of network structure. Simulation of Biomass Gasification Reactor

To enhance productivity of farms there is need to follow mantra by Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) i.e. 'Save & Grow'. Save and Grow directs towards Precision Agriculture (PA) for sustainable crop production intensification. There is challenge to establish information communication technology (ICT) technologies in fields and remote areas. Proposed system is novel platform to establish wireless sensor network (WSN) to execute PA overcoming the challenge to set up wireless sensor and energy efficient network at farms. Hybrid network of free space optics (FSO) and radio frequency (RF) connectivity and use of solar at farms and base station/control station makes it energy efficient. License free, high bandwidth FSO technology enables multimedia data exchange thus opening gate for many applications. Hybrid Hexagonal Positioning (HHP) for sensor nodes has achieved better link utilization compared to other topologies saving energy and increasing lifetime of sensor node and network. Overall energy efficient, centralized, environment friendly system allows cost effective solution to farmers. A village centric model is presented to define applicability of proposed solution. © 2012 IEEE.

H2E2: A hybrid, hexagonal &amp; energy efficient WSN green platform for precision agriculture

For private cloud computing environment, we need to make sure that infinite computing resources are available on demand, however in the current architectures like Eucalyptus, there is a single server or Cluster Controller (CC) which is the sole provider of virtual machines to the users. Despite being an extremely powerful machine it has the constraint of finite resources for launching Virtual Machine (VM) instances. This paper describes a novel diffused cloud approach based on master-slave concept where one master and multiple slaves serve the resources to the clients. This architecture allows new clients to request virtual machines, and the server makes the choice of running the requested virtual machine either on previously available slaves, or on the clients who are recently registered into a set of slaves. This approach provides the functionalities such as launching VM instance on slaves, allows registration and deregistration of client and relocation of VM instances. We have also implemented a prototype in KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) environment and have provided experimental data for performance evaluation. The experimental results show that though the load on the system increases, it never results in a bottleneck. © 2012 IEEE.
