Analytical Study of Content-Based and Collaborative Filtering Methods for Recommender Systems

In today's economy, 3-phase Brushless DC motor (BLDC) applications are greatly diversify, including automotive and industrial. Further, BLDC motor are used in medical equipment, home appliances, building controls and mainly in EV sector like micro-mobility such as E-Scooter, E-Bike, electric skateboards, electric water bikes and hover boards. The micro-mobility market primarily concerned with passenger transportation for shorter distances ranging from 5-10 miles (8-16 km) such as office and college campus or inside the smart cities.BLDC motor with 3-Phase configuration is used in micro-mobility sector because it provides high efficiency, lightweight, longer lifetime, low maintenance cost etc. To provide all the functionality its necessary that speed of the motor controlled using some algorithm or proper methodology.In this paper, the motor controller design with an algorithm is stated. To control speed of motor based on the throttle signal given by the rider as well as to increase safety functionality. Main purpose of the given technique was to control motor speed of the micro-mobility system. Based on the input signal the required motor speed was obtained. © 2022 IEEE.

Embedded System Design for 3-Phase BLDC Motor

Image Analysis using systems like Content based Image Retrieval is the information retrieval system which helps in retrieving similar images, found very useful in many areas. Feature vectors are the compact and precise representation of Images which effectively needs to be used in Image Retrieval System. The performance of Image Retrieval is majorly dependent on the quality of feature vectors. Many intelligent algorithms are proposed in literature to retrieve the features of images and represent it in an optimal way. Feature Vectors with reduced dimensions are always preferred for image retrieval systems. Quality of Feature Vectors is always checked using the output of image retrieval. There has always been a trade-off between the size of the feature vector and retrieval performance. Common measures used for checking retrieval system performance are precision, recall. This paper discusses the important measure: “discrimination power” of Image feature vector to check feature vector quality in context of image matching and retrieval. On Discrimination Power of Image Feature Vector

The torque ripple in five-phase induction motor (FP-IM) is reduced in the proposed direct torque control (DTC) drive scheme. The three-level five-phase inverter (TL-FPI) is utilized to feed the five-phase machine due to provision of availability of more switching states as compared to two-level five-phase inverter. The implemented 81 switching states among 243 available are distributed in 20 sectors each having 18° width. The 20-sector distribution gives more fine torque ripple slopes as compared to the 10-sector distribution by increasing the switchover frequency of the switching states. The main and intermediate switching states are alternately employed which maintain the torque slope (ripple) lower. An increase in changeover frequency of voltage vectors (VVs) decreases the sharpness of torque ripple, which keeps the magnitude of torque ripple lower. While reducing the torque ripple, the common-mode voltage (CMV) is controlled. Additionally, the phase current and stator flux are improved. Diet Recommendation by Machine Learning

Background: Decision makers use the process of determining the best course of action by processing, analysing & interpreting the data to gain insights, known as Business Intelligence. Some decision support systems use sales figures to predict future expansion, but few consider the effect of customer data. Objectives: The main objective of this study is to build a model that will give a forecast based on fine-tuned sales numbers using some customer-centric features. Methods/Approach: We first use the RFM model to segment the customers into distinct segments based on customer buying characteristics and then discard the segments that are irrelevant to the business. Then we use the ARIMA model to do the sales forecasting for the remainder of the data. Results: Using this model, we were able to achieve a better fitment of the data for the prediction model and achieved a better accuracy when used after RFM analysis. Conclusions: We tried to merge two different concepts to do a cross-functional analysis for better decision-making. We were able to present the RFM-ARIMA model as a better metric or approach to fine-tune the sales analysis. © 2022 Sanket Tanaji Londhe et al.

Student Centric Learning experiences is always a challenge and important aspect of teaching pedagogy. It became more complex and challenging in current scenario of online teaching and learning. Amongst many innovative active learning methods, PBL: Pr oblem based learning is majorly used in Engineering Education. Problem based learning, if worked as a group activity, each team member must actively contribute to ensure the learning objective which is a big problem. “Check Solve Pass” technique is a unique method proposed in this paper with the aim of motivating active contribution of each team member in Collaborative PBL. Check Solve Pass: A new technique for Student Centric Learning

The purpose of this research is to undertake a structural audit of the Mutha river bridge, which is located near Warje, Pune, on the Mumbai-Bangalore National Highway. In this study, a number of audit methodologies are combined to provide an overview of the bridge condition. To begin, a visual assessment of the bridge construction is conducted to identify any obvious defects in the members that require more care. The study considers traditional procedures such as the Rebound Hammer Test and the Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Test. In the bridge structure, there are only a few ways for measuring deck displacement. As a result, an institutionally designed displacement sensors equipment is utilized in this investigation to determine the displacement in the deck of the bridge construction. Following a visual inspection, it was agreed to do a displacement test on all of the bridge decks. During the visual assessment, all of the deck beams were found to be damaged in some way. An 18.5 tons two-axel truck was driven across the bridge and displacement data were recorded at the same time for real-time loading. Then, compare the resulting displacement reading to the AASTHO-LFRD standard. The general condition of the bridge was assessed after completing the structural audit and evaluating the data, and the major areas that needed repairs were noted. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
