- Nanocomposites of AZ31B with varying compositions of nano-hydroxyapatite and nano alumina were cast by the stir casting process. The primary goal of this research is to investigate and assess if it is feasible to fabricate magnesium metal matrix nano-composites (MMNCs) utilizing the stir casting process for biomedical applications. In this study AZ31B used as matrix and nano alumina (Al2O3) and nano hydroxyapatite (nHA) as a reinforcement. Due to its low weight as a structural metal and excellent strength-to-weight ratio, magnesium is commonly employed in engineering designs in addition to the development of composite materials. Mg alloys are widely used in biomedical due to their lower density. The Brinell hardness test was conducted to examine materials made by casting and forging processes that have a structure which is too coarse or rough for another test. It was observed that AZ31B-5nHa among the others has the highest hardness number. Compression tests were conducted to check the behavior of the MMNC under an applied load. AZ31B-0.5(Al2O3)-0.3nHa among the others has the highest compressive strength. It was observed that adding nHA reinforcement in AZ31B affects the microstructure and mechanical characteristics of a nanocomposite made of magnesium metal matrix, including compressive strength, hardness, corrosion resistance and biocompatibility. Investigation on mechanical properties of AZ31B magnesium alloy manufactured by stir casting process

In recent years, zinc, and its alloys, along with biodegradable metals made of Mg and Fe, have been projected as potential replacements for biodegradable metals due to their better corrosion rate and high biocompatibility in gastrointestinal, bone, and cardiovascular contexts. Clinical application of Zn-related biodegradable metals with a reasonable rate of membrane degradation and outstanding mechanical properties for guided bone regeneration membranes is very promising. Nevertheless, in order to properly control their biodegradation behavior, Zn-based biodegradable metals do require surface treatment. First off, certain Zn-based biodegradable metals that were implanted in a cardiovascular background showed signs of intimal activation and moderate inflammation. Second, Zn-based biodegradable metals for orthopaedic applications biodegrade at relatively moderate rates, resulting in long-term retention after completing their task. The development of next-generation orthopaedic implants made on Zn related biodegradable alloys or composites has the capacity to eliminate revision surgeries and biocompatibility problems. In the meantime, increased Zn2+ release during breakdown will result in delayed osseointegration and in vitro cytotoxicity. Surface modification Zn-based biomaterials can solve above problems. In this review, we first provide a summary of the available Zn-based alloy’s surface modification techniques for biomedical applications such as chemical conversion coatings, different types of chemical conversion coating, and organic coatings. Surface Modification of Biodegradable Zinc Alloy for Biomedical Applications

This study’s intention is to investigate the seismic effects on the cantilever balcony (slab) of fifteen-storied (G + 14) rectangular and C-shaped buildings through time-history analysis (THA). For this purpose, to match the target ground motion, considering soft soil and oblique-slip parameters, six-time history functions are used. The buildings are separately modeled with cantilever balconies along the longer edges comprising three types of cases that are balconies on all floors, on even floors and on odd floors. The seismic zone for the specified buildings is taken as Zone V as per the Indian Standard. The buildings under consideration are analyzed with time-history analysis (THA) using ETABS, and the results are evaluated and discussed, focusing primarily on the deflection of the balcony for each type to define the most effectual size of the cantilever balcony for each set of configurations, and the optimum sizes of the cantilever balcony are recommended. The recommended optimum sizes of cantilever balcony help in providing a safe balcony on the respective floor in each case under consideration of the two case-study buildings. © 2023, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Seismic effect on cantilever slab of rectangular and C-shaped buildings using time-history analysis

In recent decades, scholars have proposed different methods to distinguish between original images and forgery images, which are divided into active forensics and passive forensics. Active forensics techniques have the advantages of strong detection ability and are not easy to be avoided. However, in active forensics techniques, the verification information needs to be inserted into carrier images before distribution, which decreases the quality of images. Passive forensics techniques are used to verify the authenticity by analyzing the information and structure of images, which overcome the defects of active forensics techniques. There are mainly two forgeries to alter the content of images: splicing and copy-move. Splicing forgery is a way to copy and paste a part of an image into another image. Copy-move forgery is a way to copy and paste a part of an image into the same image. © 2023 Author(s).

Copy-move forgery detection using SIFT and agglomerative hierarchical clustering

Warm mix asphalt (WMA) is becoming more popular in the industry. The prospect of lower energy use, lower emissions, and a more usable product appeals to a sector under environmental pressure. WMA is a generic term for a number of technologies that allow the manufacturing of hot-mix asphalt (HMA) pavement material to be mixed and compacted at lower temperatures. WMA is blended and compacted at temperatures 20 to 50 degrees Celsius lower than traditional HMA. This paper presents a laboratory investigation of WMA mixes produced by an additive Sasobit ®. The study also evaluates the effect of addition of Sasobit ® on the rheology of viscosity graded asphalt VG 30. Two different percentages of Sasobit ® were tested with VG 30. Results of binder rheology are presented in this paper. Laboratory study was conducted to investigate the properties of the asphalt mixes affected during development of the mix at lower temperatures. Warm mixes can be successfully created at lower temperatures than HMA mixes, according to the results of the evaluation. From the study of three HMA plants energy savings are found in case of WMA mixes with Sasobit ®. Details about the energy consumed during various processes which occur during production are accounted in the study. It is concluded from the present study that use of Sasobit ® lowers production temperatures by 40 °C, which lead to a savings of about 25% in terms of fuel. © 2023

Effect of Sasobit® as a WMA additive on mix design parameters

According to a survey by Global Data, the size of the Indian construction market was $609.6 billion in 2021 and is projected to increase by more than 6% between 2023 and 2026. However, project delays have a particularly negative impact on the residential sector. The construction industry should minimize activity-related delays to meet these objectives. A project will be deemed successful if it is finished within the allotted time. Researcher indicates that, more than 55% of projects ran over budget and delayed because there was poor coordination and communication across various departments and divisions. Because of the poor coordination and communication project got delayed. Coordination is crucial for reducing delays, and managing activities also guarantees that time is managed. The customer, contractor, and consultant must establish good communication and coordination to maximize project productivity. All employees must be familiar with the project and understand what they are responsible to do and also understands the coordination they are supposed to make. There are some methods like impact-as-planned, collapsed-as-built, time impact analysis, where coordination is not important but these are the methods important for understanding and calculating the delay. While the previous researchers have understood the major problem in the delay on construction site, is the coordination. As the researchers’ research that more than 55% projects get delayed. Coordination is really important for the speedy construction among the different departments in the company. Augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) can be helpful for coordination and these are not used techniques in the previous construction work. AR enables the visualization and on-site modification of architectural designs. Compared to traditional drawings, the VR model offers a better overview and details of the design. AR and VR will aid designers in visualizing and developing their creativity. Author first selected a case study of a residential project and then created a model using AR and VR for further evaluation. The author will be employing BIM-based models for deploying AR and VR technology. G + 20 residential buildings are taken into account in this. The data from the mobile devices and internet services plays a significant role now a day. The information shared needs to be original to get the best solution. Without the utilization of privacy preservation techniques, the individual's sensitive information cannot be exposed. The Privacy preserving data publishing (PPDP) is one of the privacy preserving techniques to preserve privacy. However, the reduction of the loss of data and the security enhancement are the major challenges. To solve the issues in secure data publishing, the efficient Cat Swarm Henry Gas Solubility Optimization (CSHGSO) is introduced for achieving effective privacy preservation for secure data publishing. In addition, the proposed CSHGSO is devised by the incorporation of Cat Swarm Optimization (CSO), and Henry Gas Solubility Optimization (HGSO). Here, the procedure of generating secret key is carried out based on the proposed CSHGSO with respect to the objective measures. The experimentation of the developed CSHGSO is performed in JAVA tool using Heart Disease Dataset. Furthermore, the CSHGSO achieved the higher conditional privacy of 1.338 using database-1, maximum accuracy of 0.965 using database-4, and the NMI value of 0.927 using database-4.

Optimized key generation-based privacy preserving data mining model for secure data publishing

Additive manufacturing (AM) creates three-dimensional objects by depositing materials layer by layer. Selective laser melting (SLM) is one of the important AM processes used for metal. In SLM the fully melt metal transforms into a solid three-dimensional part. This process allows for faster, more complex, and less time-consuming manufacturing. The material INCONEL718 (IN718) is a nickel superalloy used due to its good weldability and can be processed using a variety of manufacturing technologies. More than 50 process parameters control the quality of SLM-manufactured components. The process parameters control the performance parameters. The anisotropic behavior is observed in the IN718. In this research, the superalloy IN718 was created by additive manufacturing (AM) using a selective laser melting approach, and the post-AM thermal treatments were evaluated. The effect of heat treatment on mechanical properties is observed using UTS and Hardness as performance and heat treatment’s impacts on microstructure, process-induced flaws, and microstructural behavior were investigated using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The samples are simulated using the SIMUFACT ADDITIVE to calculate the yield stress. Investigation on mechanical behaviour of inconel 718 manufactured through additive manufacturing

Root canal treatment if analyzed mechanically found to be resembling with Injection molding but with high amount of precision. In order to ensure complete success of treatment/manufacturing process, material wastage should be as minimum as possible. In Root canal Treatment (RCT), Gutta-Percha (GP) is used as common filling material which is available in form of solid phase transforming cones which changes its morphology and topology on application of heat and force. Thus, it becomes an uttermost need to determine exact volume of phase changing material with respect to varied geometrical parameters associated with RCT, viz. Canal Curvature, and Canal Operating Length. In this article, author made an effort to develop a methodology to estimate/quantify mass of filler material, GP, and its corresponding specific volume inside the canal using known volume cylindrical canals and standard Endo training blocks having Class II curvatures. The proposed methodology will ensure definite relationship between geometry and material parameters to quantify the specific volume of GP. Thus, the result of this study will be beneficial for the experts from dental fraternity. Also, according to the current study the operational range of force and temperature during obturation can also differ from dentist to dentist. The outcome of presented study clearly indicates that 30% of the cylindrical cavities are under-filled wherein in Endo training blocks almost 100% canals are under-filled which may results due to high amount of process parameters and can lead to irreparable damage of canal. The existence of unfilled cavities at the coronal aperture is due to variances in clinical technique across specialists, as indicated by the obturated cylindrical cavities. © 2022
