Dr.G.N. Mulay received the B.Tech (Electrical) degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 1977 and subsequently the M.Tech (Electrical – Power Apparatus & Systems) degree in 1979, also from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. In 2002 he received the Doctor of Philosophy (Electronics & Telecommunication) degree from the University of Pune (now Savitribai Phule Pune University).
He has 14 years of industrial experience having worked with Swedish multinational ASEA Ltd.(now ABB Asea Brown Boveri), Mumbai from 1979 to 1982, Advani Oerlikon, Pune from 1982 to 1983 and then in the Product Development Laboratory of Dutch multinational Philips India, Pune from 1983 to 1993. During this period, he was sent abroad for 5 weeks training at the Power Supplies Factory of Philips in Wavre, Belgium in 1988.
He has 24 years of teaching experience having joined the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in 1993 and worked as Professor and Head of Department from 2001 to 2016. Currently he is a Professor in the department.
Dr. Mulay has published several research papers in international and national journals and also presented a research paper at the IEEE International Microwave Symposium 2001, held in Phoenix, Arizona, USA in May 2001. He has one published patent to his name. He has received a 2 year research grant from the Board for College and University Development, Savitribai Phule Pune University in 2012 in the field of Embedded Power Control. His areas of interest include Embedded Power Control and Antennas.
Under Dr. Dr. Mulay’s supervision, one student has completed her PhD degree research work and three more students are researching in the fields of antennas and signal processing. He has supervised a large number of Master’s dissertations and Undergraduate projects.
Dr. Mulay is Fellow of IETE and Life Member of ISTE.
