Molasses is a by-product of sugar industry which is used as a water reducing admixture in concrete. The positive effects of fly ash as a partial replacement of cement on the strength and durability of concrete are recognized through various researches. This paper deals with the comparisons of the deflection and equivalent stress of the RCC beams in which cement is replaced by fly ash with 30% and sugar molasses as an admixture with 0.15% and without sugar molasses for various range of loads using Ansys software. The size of the beam is taken as 150x200x1000mm and it can be concluded that there is 11% of reduction in deflection and 7% decrease in equivalent stress in the RCC beam which contain sugar molasses

The Properties Of Reinforced Blended CementConcrete Using Molasses

The paper emphasizes on the effect of shuttering material on surface hardness and compressive strength of concrete cubes of multiple mix design grade based on rebound hammer and compressive testing machine. American Standard and British Standards codes have mentioned the effect of formwork material on rebound number. But the Indian standard codes have not included it. The mould materials used are Cast iron, wooden and shuttering plywood. Compressive strength and surface hardness of total 108 cubes were found out and the results obtained were represented in graphical format. The paper exhibits result and conclusion based on experimental work.

Damage reports on recent earthquakes have indicated that torsional motions often cause significant damage to buildings, at times leading to their collapse. Asymmetric structures have irregular distribution of mass and stiffness and its centre of mass and centre of rigidity do not coincide and hence causes the torsional effect on the structures which is one of the most important factor influencing the seismic damage of the structure. In this paper, seismic performance of two buildings irregular in plan are analyzed and compared. A Comparative Study Of Torsional Effect Of Earthquake On ‘L’ And ‘S’ Shaped High Rise Buildings

In buildings, slab is one of the important structural member as well as the largest member consuming concrete. Therefore by using high density polyethylene balls the consumption of concrete can be optimized. The advantages of bubble deck slab are less energy consumption both in production, transport and less emission of exhaust gases. The main aim is to study the practicality of hollow plastic balls in a reinforced concrete slab. The range of the study involves evaluating the flexural strength and behavior of light weight slab and conventional slab by analytical and experimental work. The slab specimen casted were of three types namely, conventional slab, B.D.S of 50 mm diameter and B.D.S of 100 mm diameter having dimensions of 750 mm X 500 mm X 150 mm. The testing of slab specimen was done on universal testing machine by giving one point line loading. Finite element analysis on slab specimen is also done by using ANSYS WORKBENCH 16.0. From the results it can be concluded that Bubble deck slab of 50 mm and 100 mm diameter can be used in practice, as the deflection values of the particular slabs are within the permissible limit as stated in IS Code.

Analytical and experimental analysis of voided slab

This paper discuss the progressive collapse analysis of RC frame building by removing different column one at a time as per the GSA guidelines. Building consists of 3 X 3 bays of 5 m in both direction and designed by Indian code as a special moment resistant frame. Structural model of building has been created in ETABS and loads are applied as per GSA guidelines, for evaluation of progressive collapse linear static method of analysis and nonlinear static method of analysis have been used. As per GSA guidelines, removal of three columns one at a time is studied, for Corner column, Exterior column and interior column at ground floor. For all three cases both linear and nonlinear analysis have done and DCR ratios are evaluated. Member having DCR ratio greater than 2 fails for corresponding column removal case. It is observed that shear in beam is not critical in any case, Columns are also not critical in Progressive collapse. But by Linear static analysis and nonlinear static it is observed that beams are going to fail in flexure.

Progressive Collapse Of RCC Structure Due To Earthquake And Wind Load.

Concrete is a composite material made with cement, aggregates and water in construction industry. New innovations and developments in construction field, the global consumption of natural aggregates is increasing day by day and at the same time production of solid wastes from the manufacturing units and demolitions are also very high. The ceramic industry generates about 30 per cent wastes every year. Its massive part is used into landfill. Use of ceramic wastes in construction industry is very low because of absence of guidelines, prevention of risk, less information and skills. The water which is subjected to high intense and focused magnetic field is called magnetized water. Magnetic water shows significant results on workability, strength and mechanical properties of concrete. However, the research on ceramic wastes as partial substitute for coarse aggregate as well as the effect of magnetic water on compressive strength and workability of concrete has not been studied. This research has been concluded with focus on examining use of ceramic tile wastes as partial substitute for coarse aggregates and magnetic water can prove to be useful. This experiment contains the preparation of standard cubes of various concrete mixes of ceramic waste, magnetic water and tap water. In this project, we have attempted to replace the various proportions ceramic wastes as coarse aggregate with normal water and magnetic water, compressive strength and workability of the concrete was calculated as well as various properties of the ceramic waste and magnetic water are studied.

Experimental Investigation of ceramic waste concrete using magnetized water

It is expected that in upcoming days, the community of civil engineering have to produce structures with the concept of sustainable development by using highperformance materials and new concept with low environmental impact which are produced at a reasonable cost. But With development of population pollution level and impact of pollution on human life and human health are also increasing. Plastic is one of the main components of pollution as reason is multiple Use of plastic like packaging of verities of product multi-fold in, due to low price and convenience in handling, but however, community of people is not aware about its impact on the human health and environment on littering or dumping. So that it is one of the most important challenge and need of human is to improve the performance of concrete and dispose waste intelligently. For that solution to be find out with use of technology to overcome these problems As the Magnetic water concrete, synthesized from the normal materials used for manufacturing of concrete which provides 10% to 20% extra strength to concrete, provides one route towards this objective. Good thing is normal water can easily replace with magnetic water and dispose waste plastic by which quantity of cement and sand used in any concrete mix reduces and we can made as new Eco-friendly material of construction for future.

Experimental Investigation of Properties of Concrete Cast in Magnetized Water

In the whole world concrete is mostly used in mass quantity for a construction. It is expected that in the near future, the civil engineering community will have to produce structures in harmony with the concept of sustainable development. A number of studies have been carried out to investigate the possibility of utilizing a broad range of materials as partial replacement material for cement in the production of concrete using various different materials like fly ash, silica flume, GGBS etc. Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete or (GFRC) is a composite that has glass fibers instead of steel strands for its reinforcement. AR Glass Fibers are designed specifically for use in concrete.It is found that by the partial replacement of cement and glass fiber with effect of magnetic water helped in improving the strength of the concrete sustainably compared to normal mix concrete. The OPC is responsible for the majority of the embodied carbon content of concrete. Significant reductions in environmental impacts occur for GGBS.The present study investigates the effects on compressive strength of concrete of 50 % cement replacement with granulated ground blast furnace slag using alkali resistant glass fibers with varying percentage i.e. 0.2%, 0.3%, 0.4% & 0.5% respectively for 7 days and 28 curing days and effect of magnetic water used in mixing and curing concrete and compare the results with different percentage of fibers and curing days. Twenty mixes were tested and studied with different percentage of glass fiber with and without effect of magnetic water. Among the mixes the mix with replacement of 50% GGBS and 0.3% of AR glass fiber is better with respect to strength.

The experimental study on compressive strength of concrete using AR glass fibers and partial replacement of cement with GGBS with effect of magnetic water

Although millions of successful reinforced concrete structures (R.C.) are annually constructed world wide, there are large numbers of concrete structures that detoriate or become unsafe due to change in configuration. Externally bounded Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) laminates and fabric are used to increase the flexural, shear strength successfully. This paper discusses the shear analysis of RC beam with Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) wrapping. Shear strengthening using U -wrapping of glass fiber is studied as following 1) Conformation of the shear strengthening by single layer of U wrapping. 2) Study of the shear capacity of RC beams with increase in layers of GFRP wrappings. 3) The authenticity of available analytical method to calculate shear strength of GFRP RC beam is checked by comparing analytical and experimental results This paper gives the report of experimental investigation with load deflection curves. It is concluded that there is significant increase in ultimate strength of RC beam. Double wrapping is more effective. Delamination occurs in case of triple layers. Beams with GFRP wrapping are more ductile than companion beams. It is expected that strengthening can be used effectively in practice.
