The main objective of this investigation is to study the flexural behavior of Ferrocement-LGS composite section when subjected to 4 point monotonic load. Ferrocement panel and LGS is connected with self-tapping screw at different spacing. 3 different spacing of 125mm, 150mm and 250mm screw connection is analyzed under flexural loading to understand the deflection behavior and moment capacity of section. Experimental study & research determine the result in terms of loadcarrying capacity, central deflection, bending moment capacity, Load vs Deflection curve and failure pattern. These results will be compared with each other. Expectation from this research is that this research will be used as guidance for future research on composite system for building construction.

Flexural Behavior Of Ferrocement-LGS Composite Under Monotonic Loading

Texture segmentation has a wide spectrum of applications in diverse fields. This paper presents an elaborated Fisher Linear Discriminant (FLD) based semi-supervised approach for improving the accuracy of segmentation of multi-class complex fine textures. Gabor filter and local statistics (local variance) are used for feature extraction of texture images. Texture segments in the image are separated using K-means clustering. The results obtained using K-means clustering are refined by multi-class Fisher Linear Discriminant (MFLD). The algorithm is tested on wide varieties of several hundred homogenous and complex textures from five texture databases viz. Outex texture database, vision texture database (Vistex), Brodatz textures, Prague textures and Pertex texture database. Fisher distance (FD) is a measure of texture separability. Segmentation of complex textures is relatively a difficult task. The improvement in the segmentation accuracy of complex textures is achieved simply by the termination of MFLD based algorithm when Fisher distance (FD) ceases to increase with the increasing iterations of MFLD. After a quantitative analysis of the experimentation, it is concluded that the segmentation accuracy of complex textures and the combination of complex and homogeneous fine textures (with small texture primitives) increases as high as 29.83% with the increasing iterations of MFLD resulting in a significant improvement at the boundaries. Detailed results are provided in the experimentation and results section of the paper. The results achieve the second rank for 21 benchmark images among the ten state-of-the-art algorithms.

A Multi-Class Fisher Linear Discriminant Approach for the Improvement in the Accuracy of Complex Texture Discrimination

The automotive sector is constantly and rapidly upgrading and deploying advanced features intocontemporary vehicles. To integrate these advanced features, numerous electronic systems are needed. Several controlmodules are used for enabling these systems to act jointly. Engine Control Module is a crucial part of vehicle’s EngineManagement System (EMS). Expanding interest for progressively controlled security features, traveler comfort, andoperational ease in vehicles requires an exhaustive utilization of electronic control units (ECU). The Engine ControlModule (ECM) provides the brains for the engine of the vehicle. It controls the fuel mixture; timing and emissionscontrol system and variety of other systems and sensors. This paper presents a review on ECU, different types ofcontrol units in vehicle, automotive communication protocols and working of an ECU.

Engine Control Module: A Review

Black cotton soil is spread all over the entire area in Maharashtra and some parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Black cotton soil have the characteristic to swelling or shrinking with the change in moisture content which affect the pavement base course and structural elements. For stabilizing expansive soil the UCS, SPT, CBR tests are carried out with the addition of Stone Powder (8% and 16%) and Polypropylene fibers (0.8%, 1.6% and 2.4%). Tests are carried out for determining the compressive strength of soil is increasing with the increasing in admixtures.

Balancing Out of Black Cotton Soil Using Polypropylene Fiber and Stone Powder

Single Lap Joints are used extensively in the aerospace industry due to their lower weight and absence of stress concentration due to drilled holes. However, their lesser strength remains an important limitation. Different modes of failures have been reviewed in this article. The bond strength of a single lap joint can be varied by varying its overlap length, while, the strength does not strictly increase with increasing bonding length. Rather, it increases up to an optimum value and decreases further. This optimum value was obtained, which is found to be in agreement with previous studies in this regard. The surfaces of the bonded aluminum plates were modified by generating notch shaped pattern on bonding area. Due to notch pattern of bonding, the bond strength increases up to 75° notch angle and then decreases with further increase in the notch angle. The experimental results of bonded joints without notch also were obtained by software analysis. Maximum strength of joint length reached at optimum length and optimum notched surface pattern.

India owns second largest road network in the world, being so prominent asset indicates the prerequisite for preserving it. The paper is a step towards an effort to do the same. It provides a way to analyse the outstanding factors which are more headed for affecting the pavement performance. Knowing such factors may help one to work in a way to improve the pavement performance with an eye on that influencing factor. Along with it, the work has taken an initiative by carrying prediction and maintenance modelling as an enhanced way of pavement management and preservation.

Working stress is becoming very common. Handling working stress at the workplace is really going to be challenging. As a result, most of the time most of the time people start behaving in sarcastic ways through verbal communication, through different gestures, using emoticons, or writing reviews or comments that leads to increasing their anxiety sometimes promotes depression. It is difficult to identify sarcasm in written notes or communication. Feedback analysis is not a direct method since feedback or employer reviews are written in more formal language. This motivates the authors to work on the employee feedback system. The currently developed system helps to detect the sarcastic emotions by applying different methodologies on several types of statements. This will help corporations and other big organizations to identify reasons behind sarcastic behavior or increased anxiety. As a result, they can promote counseling programs, psychological treatment, or yoga-meditation camps.

In recent years, the seismic design of structures has experienced significantchanges because of the increased demand for optimization of the structuralcapacities of buildings in order to minimize the level of damage, economic loss,and structure repair costs after an earthquake. The project also investigates the differing results from the time historyanalyses completed using ETABS, commonly used structural analysis software.For the Nonlinear Dynamic Procedure (NDP), a time-history analysis isperformed in which a model that incorporates the nonlinear load-deformationcapacities of individual members in the structure is subjected to earthquakeground motions to obtain forces and displacements. Optimization of Special Moment Resisting Frame installed with Buckling Restrained Braces

Electricity generation using wind turbines is an uprising technology with advancements happening on a daily basis. Electricity isgenerated by conversion of kinetic energy of the wind into mechanical energy of rotation of the blades. The blades are connected to a series ofpower transmission, lubrication, hydraulic and braking system components which get heated up when the wind turbine is in continuous operation.The wind turbine is equipped with sensors which trigger down the wind turbine power when these components are overheated. This in turn reducesthe power output given by the wind turbine. This paper involves the study of air flow and temperature distribution inside wind turbine nacelle andimprovement opportunities for cooling of components inside nacelle. 3D CFD simulation is carried out using OpenFoam software which is afreeware. Three cases are constructed in OpenFoam and comparative study is done to find out improvement opportunities for cooling of thecomponents.
