Three Finite Element (FEM) models have been developed using ANSYS 16 workbench for Post-tensioned prestressed concrete beam, beam retrofitted with Ferrocement and beam retrofitted with FRP. In this research comparison of two retrofitting systems by formulating excel sheets for generalized solution and validation of results by finite element modelling in ANSYS software is done. This work gives the comparison of total stresses, flexure capacity increase, deflection reduction, crack control, displacement curves and the check for shear on the same model. Although a great amount of work had been done on retrofitting of concrete and prestressed concrete bridge girders comparison of these two retrofitting procedures for prestressed beams for residential is really beneficial to design professionals. The results showed that Ferrocement strength was effectively utilized in the section selected herein, which could be addressed through economy for the amount of Ferrocement and prestressing steel used, thereby increasing the section ductility. The approach produced comparable results to the FEM and can be effectively and conveniently used in design

Retrofitting of the Post-tensioned beam using CFRP wrapping and Ferrocement wrapping system

Friction welding is a solid state welding process that generates heat through mechanical friction between a rotating or moving component and a stationary component. The principal advantage of frictional welding, being a solid state process is low distortion, absence of melt-related defects and high joint strength, even in those alloys that are that considered non-weldable by conventional welding techniques. Friction welding is further divided into as per type of drive, relative motion between work pieces. Numerous experiments have been performed using different materials and parameters and studied their effect on join strength. Friction welding obtained by frictional heat & it’s a commercial process, which has found several applications in different manufacturing processes with the advancement in technology. Friction welding is one of the most widely used in the automobile industry after electron beam welding process. This paper presents a review of friction welding and various research done in this field.

An Overview and Analysis of Post Installed Rebar Connection on Concrete Structure

For a single scull rowing boat, rigger is the maincomponent. The forces applied on oar by the oarsman istransmitted on the boat shell via rigger. Thus rigger should beenough sturdy and long lasting component of the rowing boat.Currently tube riggers which are attached to the boats aremanufactured locally. The stress analysis of these riggers was notfound in the literature. This paper is about the FEM stressanalysis of the traditional tube rigger used for rowing boats. Alsoit discusses the issues raised by oarsman who are the users ofthese tube rigger. Starting from the real measurement, CADmodel of traditional tube rigger is done. From the literature,amount of force acting on the rigger by the oarsperson isobtained. Finite Element Analysis of this rigger is performed inANSYS R16.0. The FEM analysis gives us values of stressesinduced in the rigger. These values are compared for permissiblelimits of material of rigger. Thus induced stresses are within safelimits. This will help in further improvement in design and mayalso be helpful for the local manufacturers to have scientificallydesigned and tested rigger. The FEM analysis verified that thestress induced in tube rigger is within the permissible limits.Thus tube rigger is safe as per its current dimensions and theselected materials.

Root canal is a treatment sequence for the infected pulp of a tooth which result in the elimination ofinfection and protection of the decontaminated tooth from future microbial invasion. There are two process oneis cleaning and another one is obturation. During the second visit the temporary filling material likeguttaparcha is placed. A temporary filling material is placed again. This process is called obturation. It isassumed that obturation method closely resembles with mechanical injection moulding. Thus to carry out studyon compantion load in dental obturation.Acralyc blocks are required.Root canal is the naturally occurringanatomic space within the root of a tooth. It consist of the pulp chamber (within the coronal part of tooth), themain canal and more intricate anatomical branches that may connect the root canals each other or to thesurface of the oot. For measurement of compention load generally photoelastic techniques are used. Thus thematerial should be photoelastic. Acralyc is 2D photoelastic material and which is easily available and cheaperin cost.In Dental obturationphotoelastic blocks are necessary to study mechanical aspects. For doing dentaloperation we generally used traditional method to fill the dental cavity. There is a no standard for applied loadwe don’t have any analytical result for safe operation in endodontic treatment. After completion of this projectwe get proper values of compantion load and we fill material and make surgery safely.But manufacturing of thisacralyc block is very complicated due to its shape so static analysis is one of the best techniques to analyze thestress concentration and deformation in the filler material. By using it we easily make the safe dental treatmentand we avoid the creation of voids in the cavity.

Root Canal Filling Process Enhancement in Simulated Dental Block Using Static Analysis

Plants is the heart of an agriculture field and it’s become an important source of energy as well as financial income. The leaves of a plant provides the most important information or data which provides us to know which type of plant it is and which type of disease is infected on that leaf. The plants have to be monitored all the time in order to detect the first symptoms of a disease before it is spread to the whole crop. Professional agriculture engineers may not be available to continuously monitor a crop. Remote monitoring through machine vision can offer an alternative option. After analyzing these different techniques as well as different algorithms, and identifying their limitations, we conclude with several promising directions for future research.&nbsp;

Farmer Buddy-Plant Leaf Disease Detection on Android Phone

The mechanical properties like tensile, pin bearing and impact properties have been studied for composites containing Fly Ash (FA) and Impact modifier (IM) in Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) for furniture and pipe applications. Pin-bearing test is an important tool to evaluate the ability of the material to retain fasteners and the ability of the material to sustain load during the service life. The present paper evaluates the effect of variation of FA and IM on the pin bearing strength, tensile strength, modulus elongation at break and impact strength. Scanning electron microtopography indicates that the impact modifier forms a co-continuous phase at 10% of IM in PVC. Increase in void content decreases impact strength and tensile strength. As void content increases moisture absorption also increases. The results of pin bearing tests were analogous to tensile test and correlate well. Results were in accordance with impact modification theory. Moisture absorption was studied keeping in view outdoor applications.

Experimental Investigation of Mechanical Properties of Impact Modified Polyvinyl Chloride-Fly Ash Composites

Storage requirements for visual data have increased in recent years, following the appearance of manyinteractive multimedia services and applications for mobile devices in personal and business scenarios. This was a keya determining factor for the adoption of cloud-based data outsourcing solutions. However, even the outsourcing of datastorage in the cloud leads to new security challenges that must be carefully addressed. We propose a secure frameworkfor the storage and recovery of the subcontracted privacy protection in large archives of shared images. Our proposal isbased on IES-CBIR, a novel Encryption scheme of the image that presents image recovery properties based on content.The framework allows both encrypted storage and search using content-based image retrieval queries while preservingprivacy against honest but curious cloud administrators. We have built a prototype of the proposed framework,formally analyzed and tested its safety properties, and experimentally assessed its performance and accuracy ofrecovery. Our results show that IES-CBIR is probably safe, allowing more efficient operations that the existingproposals, both in terms of complexity of time and space, and opens the way to new scenarios of practical application.
