The heat transfer co-efficient (HTC) was measured in nanofluids made from ethylene glycol water mixture dispersed with different amounts of graphite nanoparticles (GRNP) at different flow rates (Reynolds number Re = 50 to 800) and temperatures range between 10 to 85 °C. It was observed that the HTC was highly dependent on the Re with two regimes. HTC was found to follow the power law of the type (HTC) = A (Re)χ where the exponent χ was dependent on Re range, composition and temperature. In the high Re regime, the exponent was of the order of 0.5 while at low Re regime (Re < 150) the χ value was 0.85 to 0.92. The HTC at low Re values could be correlated with the thermal conduction process and Brownian motion, while at high Re, random motion could be prevailing. The results have been compared with the reported data for carbon nanotubes (CNT) for which also the exponent was much more than 0.333 which is indicated in the standard Sieder-Tate equation. Thus, the overall variation of HTC with Re appears to be HTC= A Reχ where χ assumes values depending on the regimes of Re viz. low, intermediate and high Re with χ ≈ 0.92, 0.3 < χ <0.5 and χ ≥ 0.85 respectively.

Power Law Variation of Heat Transfer Coefficient with Reynolds Number in Nanofluids Containing Graphite and Carbon Nanotubes Nanoparticles

The field of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is striving for devising ways to minimize energy consumption. Clustering reduces energy consumption and increases scalability along with network lifetime. There is a need to identify appropriate number of clusters to balance traffic in network which is a challenging task for energy efficient WSN. Manually it is difficult to decide number of clusters. Finding optimum number of clusters to minimize energy consumption is the major issue in WSN. Existing algorithms find optimum number of clusters but not optimum transmission range. This paper contributes towards the aforesaid issue by proposing a novel method to find optimum number of clusters and a first attempt to find optimum transmission range. We report a new algorithm, where the number of clusters obtained from proposed method is compared with state-of-the-art methods. Extensive experiments are carried out and result comparison with state-of-the-art approaches demonstrate that our method shows significantly better performance. The analysis reveals that optimum number of clusters obtained by proposed method is less than state-of-the-art method. It is especially suitable for clustering in WSN.

ONCTR: Optimum Number of Clusters and transmission range based clustering in Wireless Sensor Networks

Quality of the soil is a measure of soil fertility, observing the nutrients in the soil leads to plant life prediction, if the amount of macro and micronutrients, pH, and water measured then one can predict the fertility and protect plant life. Harvesting process change the soil nutrients and they get depleted hence replenishment is necessary, in this paper we propose design of a system which will detect the soil nutrients and necessary will automatically dispense the fertilizer in the soil, in general situation farmers add fertilizers manually, but the amount may not be proper, inappropriate quantity can harm the life of plant and cut the yield too. The proposed research solution aims to restore the level of phosphorous, potassium Nitrogen by measuring soil nutrients using a chemical process by using some sensors and adding the proper amount of fertilizers in the soil to support the plant growth and achieve better yield, this automatic detection and dispensing of fertilizers leads to solution for avoiding excess/deficient fertilizers in soil. © 2018 IEEE.

Automatic Investigation of Micronutrients and fertilizer dispense System using Microcontroller

Nowadays, internet is important part of our life. User can explore answer to different queries according to his requirement using internet. The nature of these web resources is dynamic and they are present in huge amount. So it becomes challenge to search quality results of required query efficiently as well as personalized search is also a major challenge in Information retrieval. To handle these challenges, a two-stage framework of web crawler is proposed. In first stage, crawler performs “Reverse searching” that matches user searched query with the URL of link from site database. In second stage, crawler performs “Incremental prioritizing” that matches the searched query content with web document. Then crawler classifies relevant and irrelevant pages according to match frequency of searched keyword and ranks these pages. Proposed crawler performs searching through personalized searching according to user point of interest which is based on profession profile of user. The crawler performs the domain classification which helps user to know the contribution of standard resources of searched query. A separate log file is maintained by crawler considering the issue of searching time. While entering cursor in search box, user will get pre-query result based on past search results. Our objective is to design a Focused Crawler to effectively search the site database and provide quality result to the user.

Effective approach to crawl web interfaces using a two stage framework of crawler

Many studies demonstrated that the DNA methylation, which occurs in the context of a CpG, has a strong correlation with diseases, including cancer. There is a strong interest in analyzing the DNA methylation data to find how to distinguish different subtypes of the tumor [1]. However, the conventional statistical methods are not suitable for analyzing the highly dimensional DNA methylation data with bounded support. DNA methylation is one of the most extensively studied epigenetic marks and is known to be implicated in a wide range of biological processes, including chromosome instability, Xchromosome inactivation, cell differentiation, cancer progression and gene regulation [4]. Identification of cancer subtypes plays an important role in revealing useful insights into disease pathogenesis and advancing personalized therapy. In order to explicitly capture the properties of the data, a deep neural network is used, which composes of several stacked binary restricted Boltzmann machines, to learn the low-dimensional deep features of the DNA methylation data.

DNA Methylation Data Analytics in Cancer Research

The hydrodynamics of a gas-solid fluidized bed (FB) is affected by the bubble diameter, which in turn strongly influences the performance of a fluidized bed reactor (FBR). Thus, determining the bubble diameter accurately is of crucial importance in the design and operation of an FBR. Various equations are available for calculating the bubble diameter in an FBR. It has been found in this study that these models show a large variation while predicting the experimentally measured bubble diameters. Accordingly, the present study proposes a new equation for computing the bubble diameter in a fluidized bed. This equation has been developed using an efficient, yet infrequently employed computational intelligence (CI)-based datadriven modelling method termed genetic programming (GP). The prediction and generalization performance of the GP-based equation has been compared with that of a number of currently available equations for computing the bubble diameter in a fluidized bed and the results obtained show a good performance by the newly developed equation.

Bubble size prediction in gas-solid fluidizedbeds using genetic programming

In the present investigation response surface methodology (RSM) is used to fit the quadratic model for surface roughness and microhardness of roller burnishing process on Aluminum alloy 63400 Grade. The desirability function technique is utilized to optimize the responses. Central composite design (CCD) technique is used to prepare the experiment matrix. Single roller carbide burnishing tool is employed for preparing experiment samples. The individual and interaction of effect each controllable parameter is analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and quadratic regression analysis is performed to compute the correlation coefﬁcient. It is observed that for surface roughness, feed and for microhardness, force and number of tool passes is the most significant parameter. To find the optimum value for both the responses, desirability function approach is used.

Modeling and Optimization of surface roughness and microhardness for roller burnishing process using response surface methodology for Aluminum 63400 alloy

New developments in material science have developed high-strength temperature-resistant materials (HSTR)with many extraordinary abilities. Now a days these advanced and smart materials such as Nickel-basedsuper alloys, stainless steel and tool steel are the demands of automotive, aerospace, electronics, medicaldevices and communication industries for production of more durable and reliable products. Machining ofthese materials is a challenge and traditional manufacturing techniques are often found unfit for the purpose.Electrochemical machining (ECM) provides the alternative to traditional or conventional machiningprocesses without a direct contact between the tool and the workpiece, with high material removal rates,irrespective of diverse mechanical properties of the workpiece. Even though ECM has a great potential, theprocess is still not fully explored and its research is in process. ECM process involves number of phenomenasuch as electrochemistry, mass transfer, heat transfer and hydrodynamics taking place simultaneously andleads to different material removal rate at each point on the anode surface (Workpiece). Due to this it is verydifficult to predict the anode profile accurately in ECM process. For better understanding of the ECM processto improve the performance the basic electrochemistry involved is reviewed and presented in this paper.

Quantitative Ultrasound for Investigation of Cancellous Bone Properties in Osteoporosis Management

As the population is increasing day by day, the environment should be clean and hygienic. In most of the cities the overflowed garbage bins are creating an unhygienic environment. This will further lead to a rise of different types of diseases. This will degrade the standard of living. To overcome these situations an efficient smart garbage management method has to be developed. In recent decades there is a quick development in the rate of urbanization and therefore there is a need of economical urban improvement designs. Presently utilizing new age innovation and vital approach, the idea of brilliant urban areas is coming up all around the globe. A brilliant city is inadequate without an efficient waste administration framework. This paper depicts the utilization of our model of 'Smart Dustbin' in dealing with the waste accumulation management. The dustbin itself works as a robot, when it is full on command from authorized person it goes to prelearned path (for first time user has to guide towards garbage dumping area) and empties itself. An authorized person gives command from Webpage where dustbin status is updated regularly. © 2018 IEEE.
