The items of confectionery like laddu, barfi, pedha, etc. are famous sweets in India. During festivities, people often place a large order of sweets to the vendor and expect the delivery of the sweets to be as soon as possible. In order to complete the order within required time, the vendor has to put in additional manpower. At the same time, maintaining the quality of the product. This can be achieved by using an SPM for large scale production for such demands. In order to cope up with demands to be fulfilled in shorter time span, automation can come in handy. The paper describes project to automate the process of making items of confectionery. The project aims to reduce the manpower and increase the profit by increasing the production rate and quality. It also aims to reduce the material wastage due to manual handling, adhering to safety regarding material used for constructing machine. The material used is food grade material to keep the machine hygienic and corrosion free. The paper evaluates the advantages of automation in food industries with supporting content.

Design and development of low cost special purpose machine formaking items of confectionary

The construction industry is growing very fast across the globe as such the demand for the space is increasing day by day. It is often in metropolitan cities that buildings are build very close to each other due to lack of space and this leads to phenomenon called “Pounding”. The pounding means a collision of adjacent building to each other due to insufficient space between the buildings. The pounding is a dynamic property and depends on many factors.In this papereffect of GAP between the building on pounding force is studied in detailed. The modeling and analysis of building is done by using ETABS analysis package. The gaps between the buildings are modeled by using compression only “GAP” element which consists of specified gap and a spring with proper stiffness. The nonlinear modal time history analysis is performed for three different ground motion characteristics and parameters such as displacement, pounding force and base shear etc are compared and presented.

EFFECT OF GAP BETWEEN BUILDING ON SEISMIC POUNDING FORCE

The paper aims in improvisation of the grinding process for elastic materials like rubber, plastic, composites, metals,waxes etc. Nowadays, we find a lot of wastage of these materials. Some of them like plastic, artificial rubbercomposites are very much harmful for our environment. This research will basically help in cautious use of the abovementioned pollutants. For example, Thermoplastics are difficult to grind small sized particle at ambient temperaturebecause they are soften adhere in lumpy masses and clog screens. In cryogenic grinding when thermoplastic is chilledby dry ice, liquid carbon dioxide or liquid nitrogen they can be finally grounded to powder suitable for electrostaticspraying and other powder processes. Advantages of these processes are to increase productivity through optimizedparticle size, elimination of caking product within the mill, increases protection from the fire and product oxidationdue to inert milling atmosphere..

A Review on Cryogenic Grinding

About 71% of earth is covered with water and yet it is ironical that one most the most dangerous problem the world is facing now is water scarcity. About 97% of available water is in the form of ocean so it is not potable. Conventional desalination processes involve use of either coal or electricity, but as climate change is becoming a serious problem with each passing day more research needs to be done in using non-conventional sources for heating water like solar or wind energy. This paper is a review of various design parameters and climatic conditions that affect the output of a solar still. It also deals with the effects of use of carbon nano particles and PCM (Phase Change Materials) on the output of a solar still.

A review on design parameters and climatic conditions affecting the distillate output of a solar still

The extensive effort has made to fabricate and analyze the evaporative cooler with liquid-desiccant regeneration process. A temperature drop of around 4 degrees and a humidity reduction of around 14-16 percent as compared to direct contact evaporative cooler achieved. The enhanced average cooling efficiency of the evaporative cooler is41.828 % achieved with Average dehumidification capacity obtained at different concentrations of desiccantare: At 20% concentration of desiccant = 4.3695 lph, At 30% concentration of desiccant = 5.4845 lph, At 40% concentration of desiccant = 6.391 lph

Fabrication and Performance testing of Evaporative Air Cooler with Solar Liquid Desiccant Dehumidification

Air conditioning system is essential for maintaining thermal comfort in indoor environments, particularly for hot and humid climates. Nowadays, air conditioning, comprising cooling and dehumidification, has become a necessity in commercial and residential buildings and industrial processes. It accounts for a major share of the energy consumption of a building or facility. Energy efficiency for air conditioners has received increasing attention in recent years with the intense emphasis on environmental concern and energy consumption. As the main energy consumption component of air conditioner, compressor needs further work to accomplish the transition of performance evaluation from one operation condition to its actual usage. Inverter, a device in the air conditioner, controls frequency of power supplied to compressor motor. Compressor motor controls the rotational speed of the compressor and the compressor ensures refrigerant flow is commensurate with the cooling requirement of the room. This paper discusses Inverter operated air conditioners which are being more popular due to better energy efficiency, excellent control over room temperature, and less noisy.

A Review on DC Inverter Operated Air Conditioner

Sweet product making companies have started to make a mark and succeed in Indian food industry over the few years by making use of automation. Traditional sweet making process works perfectly with human intervention but is unable to cope-up with the growing demand of the customers. Application of microcontroller for accurate control and safety of SPMA Case study on sweet making machine

The extensive effort has made to develop the intermittent solid adsorption system that promises good alternative for solar refrigeration. Most research methods have used activated carbon-methanol for working pairs, and this has been considered as the most suitable working pair for solar solid adsorption Refrigeration. Going through the existing literature, it is revealed that there are no investigations on the simultaneous use of water cooled condenser, bypass way for adsorption process. Many researchers studied on TIM (transparent insulation material) for increasing the efficiency of solar collector. But, in this study, it is analyzed the solar powered refrigerator using polycarbonate glass, water cooled condenser with natural conduction, bypass way for adsorption to enhance the performance of solar adsorption system. Using this cyclical process it is possible to obtained cooling temperature of 11˚C. For increasing the effectiveness of solar heating, polycarbonate glass is used to achieve generator temperature up to 114˚C. In this system two valves with provision for bypass is made for easy operation and maintaining the flow of methanol during day and night. The solar powered activated charcoal-methanol paired system gives the cooling temperature up to 11˚Cfor 6kg water and achieve system COP=0.02.

Experimental Investigation of Solar Adsorption Refrigeration System using Activated Charcoal-Methanol Working Pair

Solar drying has several advantages over the traditional drying method and it has been now modernized and developed for drying various agricultural and food products. Solar energy drying which is proven to be an environment friendly and economically viable in the developing countries. The working condition with respective to design of various solar driers with thermal drying factors has been reviewed.

Wireless location finding is one of the key technologies for wireless sensor network. GPS is the technology used but it can be used for the outdoor locations. When we deal with the indoor location GPS does not work. Indoor locations include buildings like supermarkets, big malls, parking spaces, universities, etc. In this area the accuracy of the GPS location is greatly reduced. Location showed on the map in not correct when the GPS is used under the indoor environments. But for the indoor localization it requires the higher accuracy and the special purpose GPS is not feasible for the current view. And also when GPS is used in the mobile device it consumes a lot of the mobile battery to run the application which causes the drainage of the mobile battery within some hours. So to find out the accurate location for indoor environment we use the RSSI-based trilateral localization algorithm. The algorithm has the low cost and the algorihm does not require any additional hardware support and moreover the algorithm is easy to understand. The algorithm consumes very less battery as compared the battery consumption of the GPS. Hence this algorithm has become the mainstream localization algorithm in the wireless sensor network. With the development of the wireless sensor network and the smart devices the WIFI access points are also increasing. The mobile smart device detects three or more known WIFI hotdpot position. And using the values from the WIFI routers it calculates the current location of the mobile device. Under the indoor environment and can navigate to the destination using the navigation function and also can enable the low consumption of the smart mobile battery for the tracking purpose.
