Since few years there is tremendous growth in the research of surveillance system especially in computer vision based surveillance system. This paper proposes a monitoring system which includes motion detection algorithm is implemented along with some alarming features. The system proposed in this paper is IOT based image processing unit with internet connectivity so that data can be transferred to any remote server for example Cloud. The motion detection feature of a system provides necessary isolation of most significant video clips that eliminates time consuming reviewing process required in normal video surveillance system. The main idea behind this system is to detect the presence of any moving object especially a human and then start recording a video from the motion is detected. The video clip can be stored locally as well as uploaded to cloud server so that it can be viewed from anywhere in the world and necessary alarms then generated by the system. There are several micro controllers are available that can be interfaced along with digital camera to achieve this goal.

Intelligent embedded video monitoring system for home surveillance

In today’s world, an enterprise user uses quite a number of applications or IT resources which have their own set of credentials. These credentials differ from system to system or applications to applications and needs to be remembered by the particular user. Also, user has to enter the different credentials too again and again whenever re-login to any application is needed. This consumes time and requires unnecessary efforts. This project made use of IBM Security Access Manager Enterprise Single Sign-On (ISAMESSO) and smartphone of the user to automate the above. ISAM ESSO securely manages each user's application credentials and automatically delivers these credentials to the logon screens of various applications when a user launches them. We have enhanced this by integrating the single sign on feature of ISAMESSO with Bluetooth proximity functionality. ISAM ESSO client is installed on laptop. Client’s workstation and smartphone communicates via Bluetooth in such a way that, whenever the Bluetooth enabled phone of the user is within the laptop's Bluetooth range and unlock command is send via app, not only the OS get unlocked but using the single sign on feature of ISAMESSO, the different applications which the user was using also gets unlocked. Further, when the user moves out of the vicinity of the laptop/desktop it will get locked automatically together with all the applications. The locking/unlocking facility is made automatic as well as manual.

Single sign on using bluetooth device

ECG(Electrocardiogram) signals get corrupted due to different noises and artifacts such as power line interference, baseline wander, motion artifacts, contact noise that hide lot of required information. This information is required for detecting various cardiac diseases. Hence before processing ECG signal denoising plays important role to obtain significant features of ECG signal. For denoising, Independent Component Analysis (ICA) is applied on contaminated ECG signal. ICA is a blind source separation technique used to find the independent source signal from non-gaussian noisy signal. The ICA technique deals with maximization of non-gaussian source signal using higher order parameters such as kurtosis and Negentropy. The process of maximization is based on the central limit theorem. ICA can be used for ECG denoising only because ECG signal has super Gaussian shape. This technique is capable to remove noise and artifacts even though they have same frequency as original signal. The FastICA with different granularity functions like tanh, power 3 isolates noise and original signal using kurtosis values of separated signal. Analysis of FastICA shows tanh granularity has faster convergence as compared to power 3 granularity and SNR ratio is of 7db. © 2016 IEEE.

Noise analysis of ECG signal using fast ICA

Radio frequency Technology (RFID) is an automatic identification technology It consists of a transponder or »tag». The tag is the data carrying element of an RFID system. The »reader» contains a radio frequency receiver and sometimes a transmitter, a control unit and an antenna to provide data retrieval or communication with the tag. The following project proposes to build a Self-Aware Inventory System based on IBM Security Directory Integrator (IBM SDI), RFID and sensors. IBM Security Directory Integrator can convert data received into a form which can then be processed further. This system consists of ultrasonic sensors, RFID tagged objects and an RFID reader which would gather information and detect current status of objects within the system. The end user would be alerted with regular updates about contents of the system and required actions to be performed. A typical application/implementation of such a system would lie in Internet of Things (IoT). For example, a RFID System enabled refrigerator. Here, the tags on perishable and non-perishable item will be sensed by the RFID reader and information such as expiry date, type of item, or quantity is recorded into the database. This data would then be processed by IBM SDI and converted into a form which can then be displayed on a customized GUI. © 2016 IEEE.

Self-aware inventory system based on RFID, sensors and IBM security directory integrator

In recent years, the amount of online content has grown in enormous proportions. Users try to collect valuable information about contents in order to find their way to relevant web pages. And a lot of research is going on to collect valuable service usage data and process it using different methods to know their behaviors. Many systems and approaches have been proposed in the literature which tries to get information about the user’s interests by profiling the user. The objective of the paper is to profile users on their specific devices and the web usage patterns based on the keyboard and mouse usage, time spent on the web. By analyzing the usage patterns of various users, we prove that the patterns exhibited by any one user are different from other users. © Springer Science+Business Media Singapore 2016.

Uniqueness in User Behavior While Using the Web

Mobility of nodes plays a key role in Wireless sensor network (WSN). It comes up with challenges like energy efficiency and improve network lifetime. WSN contain nodes which are having capability of sensing, computation, and wireless communications. Every node has ability to communicate with other node or Base Station (BS). Sensor nodes have limited energy as compared to BS. Energy efficiency is very important in WSN, because sensor node cannot provide energy for long time while sensing and processing data in network. For this reason mobile sink is rich in energy supply and computational power. Mobile sink can be used to improve the performance of network by shifting the load of energy depletion from sensor node to sink. The effective way to increase the network lifetime is to reposition the sink node. It also helps to reduce energy-holes problems. It is necessary to keep track of mobile sink so that data distribution should take place correctly. But tracking the location of mobile sink and updating it frequently is also a challenge for energy conservation and it affects the network performance. Various sink mobility strategies exist to increase energy efficiency. This paper mainly focuses on study of different algorithms, which are used for efficient data processing using mobile sink. © 2016 ACM.

A survey of various sink mobility based techniques in wireless sensor network

The paper proposes an intelligent control of DC–DC boost converter in the presence of uncertain dynamics. The converter is desired to operate with an energy harvesting system, where the input conditions are uncertain. An extended state observer (ESO) is designed which estimates and accords with the disturbances caused by load and input uncertainties. The proposed control technique address the issues of uncertainties involved in the energy harvesting system where the system is connected to constant voltage source. The overall stability of the system is proved. The effectiveness of the proposed strategy is verified for a representative example and it assures fast voltage regulation, even in the presence of sudden load and input voltage changes. This proves that the proposed method is capable of compensating the uncertain dynamics in the system. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2016.
