In Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) sensor nodes are deployed in a region to sense the information. These sensor nodes sense the similar information and sends it to sink node. This thing leads to redundancy at sink node. Sink node wastes most of its energy in processing redundant packets. To save the energy of node in order to prolong the network lifetime there is need to eliminate redundancy. Data aggregation is a process in which intermediate node receives multiple input packets performs aggregation and produce single output packet in the network. This process will reduce the number of redundant packets in the network. But redundancy sustains reliability. Therefore there is need to maintain redundancy but it should be up to an adequate level. In this paper we have focused on different issues in data aggregation process such as delay, redundancy elimination, accuracy and traffic load and mentioned various methods to solve those issues and then we compared some data aggregation techniques based on strategy, delay, redundancy, average energy consumption and traffic load. Further we have proposed a model based on our study which performs data aggregation at multiple levels and not only maintains the tradeoff between energy conservation and reliability but also addresses all the issues in data aggregation technique. © 2015 The Authors. Issues of data aggregation methods in Wireless Sensor Network: A survey

Congestion deteriorates the network performance. In this paper various congestion control AQM algorithm are analyzed and surveyed with their shortcomings and their advantages. The main objective of the paper is to study existing AQM algorithm and develop a new AQM algorithm that gives better result than the existing algorithm. AQM are the router based mechanism for early detection of congestion in the computer network. The basic idea of AQM is to sense and detect congestion in advance and to inform the sender to reduce its sending rate, thereby reducing the number of packets sent in the network and control the congestion. There are several AQM algorithms that controls the congestion. In this paper, we have surveyed, compared and analyzed Random Early Detection (RED), Flow Random Early Detection (FRED), Stabilized Random Early Detection (SRED), Stochastic Fair Queuing (SFQ), Random Exponential Marking (REM), BLUE, Stochastic Fair BLUE (SFB) AQM algorithms. Performance parameter are tested and evaluated in NS2 simulator. After analyzing it was found that RED AQM compared with SFQ and REM achieved best result in terms of delay. SFQ had minimum average ratio and RED had max loos ratio. REM algorithm showed the best result with respect to throughput loss ratio and link utilization. Improvement: After analyzing and comparing several AQM algorithm it was found that no single algorithm can solve all the problems. Hence a research is needed to develop a new AQM algorithm that has good link utilization, is fair enough, has less loss ratio, require less space and easy for configuration

Comparative Analysis and Comparison of Various AQM Algorithm for High Speed Network

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a wide network consisting of a large number of sensor nodes in it. WSN is used mainly for environmental monitoring and data aggregation purpose. The main aim of an adversary is to attack the sink node which is the aggregation point for the whole WSN. So, first there comes a need to provide the privacy to sink location from the adversary. In this paper, we modified the existing sink location privacy protection scheme by dividing nodes in the network containing multiple sink into different zones in which real packets are forwarded to sink belong to corresponding zones and the intermediate node generating fake packets and sending it to fake sinks. The scheme performance analysis is done for a safe time, throughput, packet delivery ratio, end to end delay, the average energy consumption, normalized routing load and the proposed scheme tries to resist the traffic analysis attack better. © 2015 IEEE.

Location privacy of multiple sink using zone partitioning approach in WSN

Heat pipe heat exchanger (HPHX) is an excellent device used for heat recovery in air conditioning systems. The Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) – Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) India classifies Indian climatic zones into five categories viz., Hot and Dry (e.g. Ahmedabad, Jodhpur etc), Warm and Humid (e.g. Mumbai, Chennai etc), Composite (e.g. Nagpur, Jaipur etc), Cold (e.g. Guwahati etc) and Temperate (e.g. Bengaluru etc). The literature review indicated that very limited information is available on annual energy saving analysis of air conditioning system with HPHX for Indian climatic zones. The paper investigates the possible energy savings using HPHX for heat recovery in air conditioning system for Indian climatic zones. The analysis is carried out for total 25 Indian cities representing different climatic zones. The analysis is performed for a 6 row HPHX and assuming outdoor air quantity as 1 m3/s, return air dry bulb temperature as 23 °C and compressor power as 1 kW/TR. This paper discusses the use of HPHX only for the heat recovery application (exchange of sensible heat between fresh outdoor air and conditioned return air). The annual energy savings with HPHX for a particular city is calculated for number of hours when outdoor air dry bulb temperature exceeds 25 °C. The maximum energy saving potential is revealed for hot and dry, warm and humid and composite Indian climatic zones.

Theoretical energy saving analysis of air conditioning system using heat pipe heat exchanger for Indian climatic zones

We live in the society in which Computers and the Web are widely used for accessing all kinds of information. The user accesses the web primarily through a web browser. All the user behaviour on his browser (like Navigation, Print, Bookmark, Save) can be tracked to infer the interest of the user. Analysing the user's behaviour while browsing web pages can be done by monitoring the keyboard and mouse usage. These behaviour activities are user interest indicators too, if interpreted correctly. A lot of research has been done on various Implicit and Explicit interest indicators in User Profiling but very few are specific to the users' keyboard and mouse usage. The users' behaviour can be extensively investigated to infer user interest on web pages. In this paper we pre-set a framework of how to analyse the user behaviour through his mouse and keyboard usage. We go on to suggest how these activities can be inferred as implicit interest indicators. These web activities reveal a lot about the user and the relevancy of the web page to the user can be computed by using his keyboard and mouse usage. © 2015 IEEE.

Inferring web page relevancy through keyboard and mouse usage

In this paper we use car games as a simulator for real automobiles, and generate driving logs that contain the vehicle data. This includes values for parameters like gear used, speed, left turns taken, right turns taken, accelerator, braking and so on. From these parameters we have derived some more additional parameters and analyzed them. As the input from automobile driver is only routine driving, no explicit feedback is required; hence there are more chances of being able to accurately profile the driver. Experimentation and analysis from this logged data shows possibility that driver profiling can be done from vehicle data. Since the profiles are unique, these can be further used for a wide range of applications and can successfully exhibit typical driving characteristics of each user. © 2015 IEEE.

Profiling of automobile drivers using car games

The experimental investigation on thermal analysis of conical coil heat exchanger is presented in this paper. Fifteen conical coils of different cone angles (0° (helical), 45°, 90°, 135°, 180° (spiral)), with three different tube sizes (ID × OD, 8 × 10, 10 × 12 and 12 × 15) are fabricated and analysed with, same average coil diameter (Dm = 200 mm) and tube length (L = 3 m). The experimentation is carried out with hot and cold water of flow rate 10–100 lph (Re – 500 to 5000) and 30–90 lph respectively. The observations recorded were leads to analysis the heat exchanger for heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics at different flow rate of cold and hot fluid. The various parameters (heat transfer coefficient (hi), Nusselt number (Nu) effectiveness (ε) and friction factor (f)) are estimated for the heat exchanger. The analysis indicates that, Nu and f are the functions of flow rates, tube diameter, curvature ratio and cone angle. Nu increase with increase in tube side flow rate whereas it reduces with increase in shell side flow rate, increase in cone angle and increase in tube diameter. The effects of cone angle, tube diameter and fluid flow rates on heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics are detailed in this paper. The empirical correlations are proposed to bring out the physics of the thermal aspects of the conical coil heat exchangers.

Investigation on thermal analysis of conical coil heat exchanger

In the present study, an experimental investigation on thermal performance of the conical coil heat exchanger with 90 conical coil heat exchanger is reported. Three different conical coil heat exchangers of same mean coil diameter (Dm = 200 mm) with different tube diameters (di = 8, 10, 12.5 mm) are analyzed under steady state condition. The analysis is carried out for the tube side hot fluid flow range of 10–100 lph (Re = 500–5,000), while the shell side flow range of 30–90 lph. The data available from experimentation leads to evaluate heat transfer coefficients for inside and outside the tube of the conical coil heat exchanger by Wilsons plot method. The calculations are further extended to estimate Nusselt Number (Nu) and effectiveness. The empirical correlations are proposed for predicting Nu and the outlet temperatures of hot and cold fluids. The predicted empirical correlations show reasonable agreement with the experimental results within the given range of parameters.

Experimental investigation on heat transfer analysis of conical coil heat exchanger with 90 cone angle

The static allocation schemes have led to the problem of spectrum under-utilization. In many bands, spectrum access is a more significant problem than physical scarcity of spectrum, in large part due to legacy command-and-control regulation that limits the ability of potential spectrum users to obtain such access. Dynamic spectrum management allows adaptive allocation of spectrum to various users in a multiuser environment as a function of spatiotemporally varying physical environment. A Cognitive Radio Network is a multi-hop multi-channel network with dynamic channel set for each user. Establishing a selforganizing cognitive radio network requires extensive exchange of control messages, needed to coordinate various network functions such as cooperative sensing, channel access, topology management, and routing. In wireless networks, control messages are broadcasted over a channel known to all nodes, commonly referred to as the common control channel. The concept of a single frequency band as control channel is not practical. It is considered wise to form smaller group of secondary users such that the number of available channels that are common to them is maximum. This paper deals with the methodology of obtaining the optimum groups. The major thrust of this paper is on the formation of the groups in such a way that graceful tradeoffs is achieved between the number of nodes in a group and the number of idle channels common to all the members of the group. Control Channel Allocation in Cognitive Radio Networks using Clustering

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) consists ofautonomous nodes which are static in nature and permanent inlocation for a lengthy period of time. The mobile WSN, havinga unique features like limited resources and non-rechargeablebatteries. Due to this constraints, the recent researches mainlyfocused to manage the energy consumption in order to extendthe lifetime of the network. Nowadays, the WSN may consistsof Heterogeneous and Mobile sensor nodes for manyapplications. For that, the important design issues are energy,scalability, production costs, data aggregation, fault tolerance,network lifetime, latency, node deployment, Quality of Service(QoS), mobility, throughput, packet delivery ratio and end toend delay etc. The advantage of allowing the sensors to bemobile increases the number of applications beyond those forwhich static WSNs are used.
