We investigate methodologies for improving the results of Physics Informed Neural Networks-Neural Networks that are trained with the supervision of relevant physical laws to solve specific problems. The methods we look into in this work are implementing the ResNet architecture and implementing Fourier Feature Mapping to allow the network to learn high-frequency features. We implement these methods to train a PINN on the 1D Burger's Equation. The predictions of the PINNs are compared against the solution from a Finite Difference Method based solver along with a baseline performance of a simple densely connected network. © 2022 IEEE.

Physics Informed Neural Networks-A Methodology Review

Since the first Industrial Revolution the trends in manufacturing have evolved a lot, from mechanical production to the era of smart manufacturing via technologies like Cyber Physical Systems, Internet of Things, Big Data, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Additive Manufacturing, Advanced robots, Modelling and Simulation and Augmented Virtual Reality. These technologies are enabling Interoperability and integration of various processes and departments in an organization because of the attribute of real-time inter-connectivity. Due to high inter-connectivity advantages like shorter development time, mass customization and modularity, configurability can be brought into existence. This will not only change the dynamics of the production lines but also add to the profit ratio of an organization by controlling over inventory via virtualization and predictive manufacturing. Due to such attributes of the Industry 4.0 paradigm, understanding them in depth is necessary. Hence, this paper aims to review many such characteristics, enablers, and main drivers of the Industry 4.0 paradigm and ultimately provides insight on the future scopes of each of the main pillars of Industry 4.0. © 2021

A comprehensive study on current and future trends towards the characteristics and enablers of industry 4.0

A Go-Kart is a four-wheeled vehicle having low ground clearance and does not involve a differential and suspension. The present study focuses on the analysis of an electric Go-Kart chassis frame based on proper material selection and optimized chassis thickness. To find the optimum material and thickness, a comparative analysis was conducted with three different materials, namely AISI 1018, AISI 1020 and AISI 4130, which were selected based on their yield tensile strength values. Similarly, the effect of stress on thickness variation of the chassis is analysed by varying the thickness values between 1.4 and 2 mm in a step of 0.2 mm. From the numerical studies, the results show that the AISI 1018 is the suitable material based on the factor of safety, weldability and machinability. Optimizing the thickness of the chassis helps chassis weight and cost reduction. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Optimization of Electric Vehicle Ladder Frame Chassis Based on Material and Thickness Parameter Variation Using FEA

A blood collection monitor is a device used during the blood collection process to provide a shaking moment to the blood being received from the donor thereby mixing the blood homogeneous with the anticoagulants in the blood bag. The shaking moment and anticoagulants prevent blood coagulation. The amount of blood to be collected varies from donor to donor which ranges from 350 ml to 450 ml. The existing electronic blood collection monitors being used in hospitals and laboratories include not only mechanical but also an electric mechanism that provides oscillations to a blood bag, quantify the blood amount and measure the flow of blood. However, the dependency of these devices on external electric power sources limits its application in rural areas as well as large-scale donation camps. The present study offers a mechanical blood collection monitor which does not require any external power for its functioning and thereby overcomes the drawbacks of the conventional device. The present paper offers the design considerations and systematic study of the proposed mechanical blood collection monitor. Additionally, the linkage mechanism and associated gear train were analysed using ANSYS and ADAMS which further opens up the ways to study the variations in kinetic energy and torquing moment. © 2021

Design and development of mechanically operated blood collection and monitoring device

Waste cassava starch was soaked in water for 24 h and the solution was heated at 70 °C that was then plasticized by using different plasticizer such as glycerine, sorbitol, and polyethylene glycol separately (0%–40% with respect to starch). This was blended with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) matrix in aqueous solution. Plasticizer content (Plc) was varied from 10% to 40% with respect to starch. The solutions were cast into films in a plastic dish and dried at 55 °C for 24 h. These were subsequently given short-time heat treatment (150 °C for 2 min). The films were characterized by XRD, FTIR and tested for mechanical properties and seal strength. The two prominent XRD peaks at 19.6° and 23° merge in one broad peak for high Plc percentage. The crystallinity (Ci) decreased with the increase of Plc percentage in the order PEG < sorbitol< glycerine. Increase in the content of PVA led to a shift of onset degradation temperature to higher value while an increase of Plc percentage it lowered slightly. The FTIR bands in the region of 1130–1020 cm−1 indicated crystal modification of starch after heating. The tensile strength decreased with the increase in Plc percentage but increased after heat treatment (even for Plc percentage of 30%–40%). The elongation increased considerably with Plc percentage but dropped after heat treatment. The seal strength increased with the increase of plasticizer content. There was optimum PVA concentration (66.6%) at which best seal strength was achieved. These results correlated well with the structural changes noted with respect to composition and annealing. The above study helps to develop ecofriendly packaging films and improvements in the seal strength of such films in presence of modified starch. © 2022 by Apple Academic Press, Inc.

Effect of Thermal Treatment on Structure and Properties of Plasticized Starch– Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) Blend Films

The use of conventional fiber (Glass/Carbon) reinforced polymer composites is not enough for many applications in modern world and hence hybrid polymer composites are required which can overcome the specific needs of various applications. In this study, farm-wastes are used to manufacture a hybrid composite which made it a cleaner material along with cost efficient one as well. Basalt reinforced sheep wool, paddy straw and bagasse based hybrid polymer composites with laminate structure were prepared using compression molding. Basalt fiber mats were kept on both sides of the mold and sheep wool content was varied in each composite sample. The composites then tested for their tensile, impact and thermal properties. The study on basalt-paddy straw-sheep wool and basalt-bagasse-sheep wool hybrid composites clearly brought out the effective use of waste material for producing value added product with improved properties. Varying of sheep wool also had optimum effect on these composites. Just 10% of sheep wool in these hybrid composites leads to more than 1.5 times improvement in tensile strength, 5 times increase in modulus, 3 times increase of elongation, and 2 times increase of charpy impact value at 20% sheep wool concentration. The thermal stability is also improved by 8–10 degrees as degradation temperature is increased. The sheep wool is more effective in basalt-paddy straw hybrid composite than the bagasse hybrid one. © 2022 The Authors

As a result of OTT services, viewers today have expectations that are drastically different from those of the past. As on date there are roughly 40 OTT providers in India that deliver media content over the Internet. According to market research, there are already close to 350 million users in India, with that number anticipated to rise to 500 million in the not-too-distant future. There is fierce competition among OTT service providers. Viewers can watch digital material whenever and wherever they want using OTT. OTT being a media-on-demand service (predominantly Video) that provides a wide range of content for audiences of all age groups and in various genres. Streaming video is becoming a more popular and successful approach to reach today's viewers, and it's the best option for enterprises looking to engage new consumers during the discovery stage of the customer journey. Through the trinity of sight, sound, and motion, advertising over streaming media platforms create an effective connection between the enterprise and an interested consumer. With the wide acceptability among subscribers, OTT platforms make money and gain popularity. Over-the-Top (OTT) Platforms in India

Cricket, the second most popular sport in the world, has emerged as one of the most widely played international mainstream sports in the world. With the advent of newer formats such as the Twenty-twenty (T-20) over cricket, the popularity of the game has further soared, spurting out international leagues such as the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Big Bash League (BBL), over the last one decade. Over the course of more than 450 years since the inception of this sports in south-east England, statistics have played a pivotal role in shaping the structure and format of the game. Of late, there have been considerable advancements in cricket data analytics using IoT-based cricket bat sensors, advanced video analysis using Pitch-Vision, Hawk-Eye and allied technologies. From providing trajectories of the ball, to measuring the speed and impact point of the ball hitting the bat, such stellar breakthroughs have made it possible to fathom and analyze the game in a more refined way. Internet of Things (IoT) and Data Analytics can be the proponents in learning more about the stroke play of players as well as about the myriad facets of the game. In this paper, we have endeavored to discover a novel paradigm of research in cricket analytics known as the timing index, based on a real life IoT-based implementation and case study. The timing index is based on an amalgam of different factors such as bat speed, back lift angle, max. bat speed and impact bat speed. We believe that such a study can help in analyzing a player's training sessions using IoT and data analytics, thereby accurately and holistically analyzing a player's game and going beyond traditional statistical reporting, by ushering in intriguing and insightful information. © 2022 Elsevier B.V.. Data Analytics in the Game of Cricket: A Novel Paradigm

Mathematical modeling of a helical coil thermal oil heater is difficult due to the complex heat transfer interaction between thermal oil and flue gas. The present publication reports the development of a transient model for the study of transient and steady-state behavior of fired helical coil thermal oil heaters. The mathematical model aims to predict the distribution of the flue gas temperature, thermal oil temperature, and tube wall temperature. A model is used for the accurate prediction of flame temperature and tube wall temperature. Prediction and control of the tube wall temperature are critical for the design and operation of a fired thermal oil heater. © 2022, Begell House Inc. All rights reserved.
