Introduction: India is one of the five countries with the lowest public health spending levels: the private medical services are one of the most developed fields, meanwhile public health ones are totally inadequate with the most number of health facilities concentrated in cities, where only the 25% of the population lives. Public facilities are mainly made up of primary level and not well distributed on the territories, so they do not guarantee accessibility to a wide sample of population, who live in rural areas of India. Methodology: Starting from the analysis of three different health care levels in the Indian context, the research team developed a meta-project that considers all the current criticisms and the Indian customs through a flexible layout that responds to the healthcare needs of population. Result and Discussion: The research work is aimed to develop a meta-project that considers all the current criticisms and the Indian customs through flexible layouts that responds to the healthcare needs of population. Conclusion: The innovation of the research work is to develop the hygienic aspects, the layout and the distribution, the sub-division of the medical functions through the Indian culture and the needs of the country. The choice of lowly technologies permits to promote the usage of local materials, their maintenance and skills for creating a virtuous economic system.

Water Conservation Structure: Farm Pond - A Case Study

This paper discuss the progressive collapse analysis of RC frame building by removing different column one at a time as per the GSA guidelines. Building consists of 3 X 3 bays of 5 m in both direction and designed by Indian code as a special moment resistant frame. Structural model of building has been created in ETABS and loads are applied as per GSA guidelines, for evaluation of progressive collapse linear static method of analysis and nonlinear static method of analysis have been used. As per GSA guidelines, removal of three columns one at a time is studied, for Corner column, Exterior column and interior column at ground floor. For all three cases both linear and nonlinear analysis have done and DCR ratios are evaluated. Member having DCR ratio greater than 2 fails for corresponding column removal case. It is observed that shear in beam is not critical in any case, Columns are also not critical in Progressive collapse. But by Linear static analysis and nonlinear static it is observed that beams are going to fail in flexure.

Progressive Collapse Of RCC Structure Due To Earthquake And Wind Load.

In this research the strength and durability parameters of recycled aggregates are studied to determine the optimum quantity of recycled aggregates that can be used as substitute for natural aggregates without affecting the strength of concrete. Compression test, Water penetration Test and Rapid Chloride penetration test were conducted on specimens of Grade M40, M50 and M60 with 0, 40, 60 and 80 % of replaced aggregates. For compression test the cube was cured for 28, 56 and 90 days, and for durability test (Water penetration Test and Rapid Chloride penetration test) cube was cured for 28 days. The result is obtained and compared with that of natural coarse aggregate. It is found that use of recycled aggregates does not decrease the strength of concrete substantially.

From yesteryear soil retention has been a problem faced by mankind. In his research for better results man has tried several ways to retain massive masses of soil ranging from bamboo, wood, and alternative materials to random detritus masonry. As time progressed RCC retaining wall has become the foremost commonly sought after solution .With the appearance of recent concepts and materials, technology has found better methods to retain heavy masses of soil. RE wall using Geogrid is new soil retaining technology have been widely used in recent years worldwide but the implementation is not up the mark in India. Here the paper focuses on the study of RCC wall and retaining walls using Geogrid for the purpose of cost and time consumption comparison.

Study of Geogrid Reinforced Soil Retaining Wall &amp; Its Comparison with R.C.C. Retaining Wall with Respect To Cost &amp; Time

In the present paper, the effect of a centrally placed circular obstruction on sloshing frequency and sloshing mass is studied for annular tanks. Finite element approach (ANSYS software) is used to model the liquid. For circular tanks without obstruction, sloshing frequency and sloshing mass at first three modes are obtained using finite element analysis which compare well with the available analytical results. Next, a rigid circular obstruction at the center of tank is modeled and sloshing frequency and modal mass in the first three modes are obtained. It is observed that with the increase in the diameter of the circular obstruction, the sloshing frequency and the percentage of liquid in sloshing mode decrease in first mode. The behavior of these sloshing parameters in higher modes is also discussed. A detailed study over wide range of circular tank geometries is performed. Charts for obtaining sloshing parameters for various tank geometries are plotted.

Sloshing in Liquid Storage Tanks with Internal Obstructions

During the impact of seismic waves, we observe greatcollateral damages as ground shakes every structureconnected to ground face the impact. What if we detach thestructure from ground or base? Friction pendulum as a baseisolator works in similar way by decoupling the structure fromits base and hence reducing the responses that damages thestructure.As concept of single friction pendulum was introduceit was observed that it displaces in large space which causeddifficulty in installing multiple bearing at one site. So toovercome this situation new bearing were designed in whichmultiple plates slide over each other. Due to its mechanism ofsliding over multiple plates, their performances were betterthan single friction pendulum, though using less space to slide.Triple friction pendulum was highly preferred when it comesto select for base isolation, because of its adoptive naturetowards all three level of earthquake (SLE, DBE, and MCE).This paper summaries response analysis of optimizedtriple friction pendulum (TFP) at base of 9 storey RCC buildingunder seismic waves. The building is situated in earthquakezone V as per IS1893:2002. As for reference it is comparedwith fixed base structure under same seismic condition. Theresults indicate by addition of triple friction pendulum at baseof structure, significant decrease in responses like storey drift,storey shear, spectral acceleration, input energy was observed.Also, it obviously leads to increase in fundamental time periodof structure. One of major aspect of triple friction pendulumwas taken care of, that is, re-centering capability of plates byplotting the displacement-time graph of each link.

Analytical Study of RCC Frame Building with Triple Friction Pendulum under Earthquake Time History

Ferro cement is one of the structural materials, widely used because of its advantages of excellent behavior under flexural, and impact strength. Also it has excellent mechanical properties. A total of 6 types of panels were modeled for each grade of concrete i.e. M30, M40 and M50. The thickness of ferrocement panel considered is 20 mm and 30 mm. There are two type of fibres, Corrugated steel fibers and Hooked steel Fibers, and two types of meshes, Galvanized welded square mesh and Galvanized woven square mesh are used. High velocity impact and low velocity impact test is done on Ferro cement specimen. High velocity impact test is done by Ak-47 bullet and Parabellum bullet striking with a velocity of 300 m/s, 400 m/s, 500 m/s , 600 m/s and 700 m/s and low velocity impact test is done by dropping weight of 3.5kg from a height of 0.5m and 0.75m. All of this analysis is being performed on ANSYS Explicit Dynamics. Deformation, Equivalent Stress and Normal Stress of all the panels are evaluated and compared. It is concluded that when fibers are added in the mortar deformation due to impact loading is reduced and stress resistance of ferrocement panel is increased also when welded square mesh is used instead of woven mesh penetration depth reduces.

Behaviour of Ferrocement Panel Under Impact Loading

The rapid industrial and economic development in India leads to high level of pollution in environment. Due to increased level of aerosols oceans are warming. This paper highlights on aerosols effect on sea surface wind and sea surface temperature by using remote sensing data. The windplays important role in Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) and radiative forcing and is analyzed using National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) monthly wind data. The radiative forcing observed is much higher and up to 60% of total AOD during summer monsoon. SeaSurface Temperature (SST) is another important parameter in ocean atmosphere system and a key variable in coupling the atmosphere and ocean. The SST has changed during the change of atmospheric pattern and it plays an important role in aerosols mechanism. The study observed that during summer monsoon SST over the South Eastern Tropical Indian Ocean (SETIO) much higher than Western Tropical Indian Ocean (WTIO) and it plays important role in aerosols mechanism.

Effect of Aerosols on Ocean Parameters in India by Using Satellite Data

In the present paper, passive control technique such as base isolation system is studied under earthquake ground motions and underground blast-induced vibrations. The performance of the lead rubber bearing (LRB), idealized as Bouc–Wen model in mitigating the structural responses of a five-storey building model, is investigated. The earthquake ground motions are selected from ground motion database available on the portal COSMOS Virtual Data Centre, whereas the underground blast is modeled as an exponential decaying function as prescribed by Carvalho and Battista (Proc Inst Civ Eng Struct Build 156(3):243–253, 2003). The aim of the study is to analyze the effect of isolation parameters such as damping ratio, yield strength, post-yield stiffness ratio and yield displacement on the structural responses of the base-isolated building. Newmark’s step-by-step integration method is adopted to evaluate the structural responses of the building. It is observed that the LRB is very effective in reducing the structural accelerations and storey drifts induced in the building due to ground-induced vibration. The comparison of results show that high value of yield strength harvests low bearing displacement and low percentage reduction in the top floor absolute acceleration. In addition, the study also evaluates the energy dissipated by the isolated structure. The energy dissipated by the base-isolated (LRB) building subjected to blast-induced vibrations, show that an optimum value of yield strength is found to be in the range of 10–20% of the total weight of the structure.
