The purpose of the present work is to find out feasibility of the process to remove copper ions from the aqueous solution using powdered orange peel as an adsorbent. Powered activated carbon was also used along with pretreated orange peel to compare the efficiencies. Adsorption is taken into consideration to be one of the most excellent technologies broadly used in international environmental safety regions. Batch adsorption study was conducted to find out the impact related to the numerous strictures like pH, contact period, adsorbent dosage, concentration of preliminary metal Cu(II) ions besides the size of the adsorbent particle on the removal of copper ions from synthetic solutions. The statistics related to the adsorption isotherm which was obtained by carrying out the experiments, performing modeling of such data is very important so that forecasting of adsorption besides knowhow of adsorption. Experimental statistics were investigated with the use of numerous models related to the adsorption and that includes BET model, Freundlich model, Langmuir model as well as Modified Freundlich isotherms model. Equilibrium facts are also evaluated with the use of above-mentioned models related to the process of adsorption.

Sorption of Cu (II) Ions by Adsorption using Orange Peel

Ferro-cement, also known as Ferrocement, was invented in 1848 by a Frenchman named Joseph Louis. Ferro-cement is a type of thin reinforced concrete that is made up of a large number of small diameter wire meshes that are distributed uniformly throughout the cross-section and cement mortar. It is a highly versatile material with a wide range of engineering properties including flexural strength, toughness, fatigue resistance, impact resistance, and crack resistance. It is suitable for precast structural components such as walls, floors, roofs, beams, slabs, water, and soil retaining structures, as well as repair work. It can be fabricated into any desired shape or structural configuration than standard masonry, RCC, or steel cannot. It is a low-carbon footprint, a sustainable construction material that emits less carbon than standard reinforced concrete masonry. For developing countries with a high demand for housing, ferrocement can be a cost-effective alternative to traditional construction materials. The most innovative invention in the concrete family and composite materials is ferrocement, which can conserve resources, save energy, protect the environment, and reduce human efforts. The modern ferrocement system for green housing has demonstrated high standards of energy efficiency in housing construction. The ferrocement technique can create extremely energy-efficient homes. It is seen that with thermal insulation installed as part of the construction panels, high levels of thermal performance are achieved, resulting in a reduction in CO2 emissions (Wail N Al Rifaie 2019).In developing countries where there is a high demand for housing, ferrocement can be an effective and low-cost alternative construction material. Ferrocement is long-lasting and cost-effective due to locally available materials and the availability of cheap labor in developing countries. The primary goal of this research is to propose a low-cost house using ferrocement technology, which will reduce the cost of housing projects to the point where they are affordable to people living in slums and will aid in the removal of slum areas from urban development. Ferrocement: Cost-Effective &amp; Sustainable Construction Material for Low-Cost Urban Housing in India.

The Indian construction industry still follows the primeval work pattern which generates low productivity, poor management in resources, poor waste management, lower quality, high energy consumption, over budgeting and time overrun, etc. Though the abovementioned problems need noteworthy thought and time, increased emphasis must be given to new project management strategies so the Indian growth story doesn’t meet a hasty end. As construction is a physically demanding work environment, site workers are often at risk of long-term injury. This study focuses on the poor ergonomics is likely to result in a loss of worker productivity, higher rates of lost workdays through illness, a lack of staff morale and motivation, and increase employee turnover. The ergonomics improvement process systematically identifies ergonomic hazards and puts in place engineering and administrative control measures to quantifiably reduce risk factors. The purpose of this research is to provide proper guidelines &amp; education about risk and right posture to workers is given by carrying out workshop &amp; training program on-site is necessary for workers. Use of software platforms like Ansys software for analysis.

Application of Ergonomics Principles in Construction Industry in Indian Scenario

In recent years the construction industry has adopted the method of fast track construction in which maximum possible project activity can be performed simultaneously to reduce time and increase productivity but small information inaccessibility can cause work stoppage resulting in cost and time overruns. Where the design and execution take placed at the same instance, to provide accurate documented information in the form of design drawings, technical datasheets, costing, quality, safety, contracts, materials and standards which are required for seamless progression of project a proper documentation framework is required between multiple project stakeholders. In the research paper the study is aimed towards the document generation, approval, and distribution cycle between stakeholders for seamless documented information flow with a document tracing process and digital document storage and accessibility scheme for the fast track project documentation and its management.

Recently, Government of India has decided vision of 100 smart cities in 2020, and for a better productivity (on time, within budget and promised quality of projects), construction industry should adopt new construction management technologies but due to the tendency to adopt new management technology and other more reasons almost 80% construction projects are either time overrun or cost overrun. This problem can be solved by the adoption of tools of lean construction in Indian construction sector. Last Planner® System is one of the most efficient tools of lean construction and with the use of this tool; process wastes and negative effect of traditional method can be mitigated. Expressways are the highest class of roads in the Indian road network, and approximately, 1581.4 km of expressways are operational in India. Road accidents have rose over decades and are a significant contributor towards human deaths. It is increasing yearly with the increase of road users and construction of road pavement globally. In India, more than 150,000 people are killed each year in traffic accidents and that is about 400 fatalities a day. Also, India losses 3% of its GDP to road accidents. Performance of linear and nonlinear damper connected buildings under blast and seismic excitations

Manufacturing compound weirs for exact discharge measurement has been a challenge, according to studies so far. The length of the weir crest (L), weir height, and weir width all affect the efficacy of compound broad crested weirs as flow monitoring devices. As a result, the flow characteristics of a given flume are determined by changes in weir geometry, particularly the discharge coefficient (Cd), which varies proportionally with the h/L ratio. For varying h/L levels, many researchers have maintained an average range of Cd. The experimental and Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations for measuring discharge by compound broad crested weir are presented in this work. Validation in the results is achieved using CFD FLOW 3D software. For enhanced accuracy in free surface simulations, the model uses the renormalized group (RNG) approach with the volume of fluid (VOF) method. Laboratory models were employed in an attempt to analyse and validate the CFD model. The model is fabricated using PVC material first and later resorted to additive manufacturing for targeting accurate discharges. The shape of the compound broad crested weir was modified to achieve constant Cd by comparing three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics models to experimental measurements. The performance of the CBC weir for precise measurement of a wide range of discharges is confirmed by numerical simulations and experimental measurements, with a reasonably constant design input value of discharge coefficient of 0.6. When compared to empirical methods, CFD-based weir geometry optimization produces more exact model predictions. Moreover, manufacturing this optimized model with 3D printing technology using Poly Lactic Acid plastic material has validated the weir performance with accurate estimates between theoretical, experimental and CFD outputs. © 2021 All rights reserved, Legal Deposit.

Performance enhancement in discharge measurement by compound broad crested weir with additive manufacturing

A construction project usually involves different types of activities and has number of factors affecting it. Such situations demand rigorous monitoring and fluent coordination on the project. The final output of any project must be that it is delivered successfully. In this study, the researchers have focused on application of a conceptual model based on KPIs and project constraints to monitor a real estate building project in Pune. To predict the project delivery success factor (PDSF) of a 13 storeyed commercial building, two additional parameters, project performance index (PPI) and project monitoring and coordination index (PMCI), have been defined and used. Data has been collected from on-site observations, collecting authentic documents related to the particular project, meeting various involved stakeholders, interviewing them and making a note of their opinion and expertise. It has been clearly observed through the results that the PDSF for the real estate project under study is less. Therefore, the particular project has been considered as a possible failure, and various measures have been recommended to improve the PDSF. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Monitoring of a Construction Project in Its Execution Phase Using Project Delivery Success Factor (PDSF)

The initial costs of a building are quite small in comparison to the life cycle costs, as it is estimated that they represent less than 30% of the total life cycle cost of a building. Accordingly, if we consider integration of the life cycle cost of a building into the estimation of investment values, then we would have a better and clearer idea of how much our total operation costs are during and after construction process. Did an overview of Life Cycle Assessment and Modelling tools and BIM integrated LCC evaluations. Used BIM objectives by Krieder for to generate Life Cycle Cost Analysis of the Residential Building. Findings of this study demonstrate the opportunities to manage and estimate a reliable and accurate information on a building’s life cycle in real time by considering each element and its components into the calculation, which may change the metrics for a real estate economic evaluation in order to achieve sustainable and efficient property investment.
