Cricket, the second most popular sport in the world, has emerged as one of the most widely played international mainstream sports in the world. With the advent of newer formats such as the Twenty-twenty (T-20) over cricket, the popularity of the game has further soared, spurting out international leagues such as the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Big Bash League (BBL), over the last one decade. Over the course of more than 450 years since the inception of this sports in south-east England, statistics have played a pivotal role in shaping the structure and format of the game. Of late, there have been considerable advancements in cricket data analytics using IoT-based cricket bat sensors, advanced video analysis using Pitch-Vision, Hawk-Eye and allied technologies. From providing trajectories of the ball, to measuring the speed and impact point of the ball hitting the bat, such stellar breakthroughs have made it possible to fathom and analyze the game in a more refined way. Internet of Things (IoT) and Data Analytics can be the proponents in learning more about the stroke play of players as well as about the myriad facets of the game. In this paper, we have endeavored to discover a novel paradigm of research in cricket analytics known as the timing index, based on a real life IoT-based implementation and case study. The timing index is based on an amalgam of different factors such as bat speed, back lift angle, max. bat speed and impact bat speed. We believe that such a study can help in analyzing a player's training sessions using IoT and data analytics, thereby accurately and holistically analyzing a player's game and going beyond traditional statistical reporting, by ushering in intriguing and insightful information. © 2022 Elsevier B.V.. IoT-Based Localization of Elderly Persons

In India the number of two-wheelers is greater than the cardinal number of parking spots available, hence people tend to park their vehicles at undesignated spots and open spaces which increases the risk of damage to the vehicle. To prevail over this situation, we contemplated, designed, and came up with a solution. Park Shield predominantly aims towards providing an all-inclusive system for two-wheeler vehicles that notifies the attempts of theft and live location tracking for your vehicle with absolute authentication of the users. The uniqueness of the system is that it can be controlled using an android application with authorized users registered on the database. In case the vehicle is hoisted or hauled, the live location update with an alert notification will be sent to the owner's cellular device via the application. © 2022 IEEE.

One of the most pressing challenges in the current world is the safety of women. For women and girls all around the world, sexual harassment and other forms of sexual abuse in public areas, both urban and rural, is a daily occurrence. This reality restricts their freedom of movement, to participate in school, work, and public life. It limits their access to essential services and their enjoyment of cultural and recreational activities. This paper presents a Wearable Safety Device for women using ESP32 MCU which will help them to send location details to their loved ones in case of emergency. It will also be able to monitor various health parameters and hence can be used as a fitness band. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper presents the design and development of a complete MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) model for the autonomous part of the Navigational System of an underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV). Underwater ROVs are robotic systems that are submersible. They are used to observe the Depths of large water bodies by operators from shore. In this paper the objective is to develop a model of the navigational system of the ROV using MATLAB/Simulink. The navigational system is used for autonomous navigation of an underwater ROV. The model is useful to test and modify the various control parameters without having to perform physical tests on the ROV. © 2022 IEEE.

Multi-robot SLAM: Challenges and Solutions

Transportation services for safe travel are critical to a country's growth. The dangerous pavement surface is caused by a variety of asphalt pavement distresses. Potholes are the primary cause of pavement distress. Many methods for detecting and correcting potholes in asphalt pavement have been presented in this paper. Potholes are essential indicators of structural difficulties in the asphalt road, and recognition of the potholes is a significant issue for smooth and safe driving. On the other hand, manually discovering and evaluating strategies is expensive and time-consuming. Consequently, several efforts have been made to develop technology for the detection and recognition of potholes automatically, which may reduce vehicle damage, driver stress with a smaller number of accidents. In this review paper, we explored and reviewed the existing pothole detection systems based on sensor, vision, machine learning, and deep learning algorithms. Survey on Pothole Detection Methods

Video transmitting over wired or wireless channels such as internet is the area of research because of its fast growth. There are more chances of loss of packets in wireless medium. In existing video recovering methods, either there is a delay as packets are sending it again or redundancy of data, Video Error Concealment (VEC) is the method used for minimizing the errors in the video due to any transmission errors or addition of noise. There are different domains that are used for error concealment such as temporal, spatial, and spatio-temporal. To achieve error concealment techniques, there are different algorithms such as Boundary Matching Algorithm, Frequency Selective Extrapolation, and Patch Matching. The proposed method is a novel method in the spatio-temporal domain. It can significantly improve the subjective and objective video quality. Hence, spatio-temporal algorithm is adopted over other domains. There are many algorithms for VEC. The optimized algorithms should be used for obtaining better quality of videos. Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is one of the best optimized bio-inspired algorithms. This PSO technique can be used to conceal the errors in different formats of videos. Correlation is used for detection of errors in the videos, and each error frame is concealed using PSO algorithm in MATLAB. This was tested for different standard videos and different types and variety of errors for single, multiple, and sequential errors. In comparison to error videos, parameters including PSNR, SSIM, and Entropy improved for concealed videos, while MSE decreased. The results clearly indicate improvement in quality of videos. The errors in the video should be recovered as it is used in many applications such as in internet video streaming, mobile phone, TV, and video conference and in medical areas such as MRI and satellite transmissions. © 2022 Scrivener Publishing LLC.
