The world is facing serious issue of environmental pollution and warming. Also, crude oil can become rare and faces severe shortfall within the close to future. Hence, this offers rise to researchers to seek out different fuel sources as alternate energy sources. Biodiesel is the fuel that has been thought of the best substitution for petroleum-diesel fuel as a result of it may be employed in any diesel-engine without any need of modification. Biodiesel is that the renewable fuel and additionally it's having sensible exhaust emissions as compare to diesel. Jatropha biodiesel, palm biodiesel and Calophyllum Inophyllum biodiesel falls within standard quality limits, hence they may be used as the alternative to diesel oil. The performance and exhaust emissions of Jatropha, palm and Calophyllum Inophyllum biodiesel are reviewed in this paper. Among the numerous biofuels available, vegetable oil is foremost economical in case of farmland usage, potency and productivity as it is the crop having oil carrying tendency. The problem associated with edible-vegetable biodiesel is that there's competition among oil as source of fuel or food. This makes edible oil not a perfect feedstock for production of biodiesel. Hence, more consideration is towards different non- edible oils like Jatropha oil, Calophyllum Inophyllum oil. Calophyllum Inophyllum oil may be being thought of as a possible fuel by following transesterification. However in comparison with Jatropha and vegetable oil biodiesel productions, biodiesel from Calophyllum Inophyllum continues to be in an exceedingly analysis state. Hence, long analysis and experimental studies got to be dole out previously considering this oil primarily based biodiesel as an alternate fuel to crude diesel. Keywords:

Forward Kinematic Analysis Of A Robotic manipulator With Triangular Prism Structured Links

The objective of this study was to devise an optimum force system to achieve en-masse retraction of six maxillary anterior teeth in lingual orthodontics (LiO). First, the set of equations was developed based on the mathematical computation to estimate optimum parameters of force system. Then, the computer software based on this mathematical computation was developed for the ease of estimation of force system. The verification of force system obtained with computer software was accomplished by three-dimensional finite element analysis (FEA). In FEA, it was clear that the desired en-masse retraction of six maxillary anterior teeth in LiO was achieved as observed from the vectors of nodal displacements as well as positions of undeformed and deformed models. In this way, mathematically computed optimum force system was verified with FEA. For orthodontists, the developed computer software accurately estimates the required force system according to mathematical computation. It simplifies the task of computation for orthodontists. The orthodontists can easily operate this computer software as it is user-friendly. Further, in-vivo validation of this study is required in future before clinical application.

Optimum en-masse retraction of six maxillary anterior teeth in lingual orthodontics: a numerical investigation with 3-dimensional finite element analysis

The literature review indicates that, though water has a good figure of merit, very limited information is available on the use of water as the working fluid in a horizontal heat pipe heat exchanger for air conditioning applications. This article investigates theoretical and experimental analyses of horizontal heat pipe heat exchangers for air conditioning applications using distilled water as the working fluid. This heat pipe heat exchanger study consists of 20 copper tubes of 9.5 mm outside diameter arranged in two rows with a 0.3 m evaporator length, a 0.3 m condenser length, a 0.05 m adiabatic length, and 12 fins per inch of aluminum plate fins. A comparative analysis is studied for two configurations of heat pipe heat exchangers. The first configuration of heat pipe heat exchanger consists of a single wick structure with two layers of 180 mesh of phosphor bronze wire mesh, and, in the second configuration, the heat pipe heat exchanger consists of a composite wick structure (two layers of 180 mesh and two layers of 60 mesh of phosphor bronze wire mesh). The investigations are performed only for sensible heat recovery between outdoor and return air. The experimental investigations are performed by varying the outdoor air dry bulb temperature in the range of 24°C to 40°C and return air dry bulb temperature in the range of 20°C to 24°C. The present study reveals that the amount of heat recovered by a heat pipe heat exchanger with a composite wick structure is 56% better than a heat pipe heat exchanger with a single wick structure at a higher velocity of 2.4 m/s and further improves to 88% at a lower velocity of 0.6 m/s.

Numerical Process Modeling & Analysis for Optimization of Thinning in Automotive Cup, with Two Collars

Crack is one of the measure catastrophic failure in mechanical machines so it’s necessary to detect it in early stage. In this paper proposed a method to identify crack in early stage. The purpose of this study is to describe relation between modal natural frequencies change due to crack in shaft with respective crack parameters like Depth, Location and Width. Analysis is done for Single Crack and is evaluated. Analysis reveals how modal natural frequency decreases with change in crack size. It has been observed that when shaft suffers from a crack or any damage then its dynamic properties changes. Crack causes a reduction in stiffness and ultimately reduction in its modal natural frequencies which leads to change in dynamic response of the shaft. The results of modal analysis using FEA are validated with experimental modal analysis.

Crack detection in Shaft by Finite Element Analysis and Experimental Modal Analysis

As the foundries are primary suppliers to the manufacturing industries like automobile, Pumps, transport, heavy equipment, machine tools, plant machinery, machines, households, aerospace, defence. Although lots of research has been carried out in foundry technology, yet achieving higher casting yield with the sound casting (defect free casting) is major challenge to the manufacturers. For obtaining high quality of casting which is a customer prime requirement manufacturers are making compromise with the casting yield. Which results into the increases production cost and decreases profit. In the research pump cover casting is analyzed which is associated with the various defects. Defective casting results due to improperly designed gating system and risers. For eliminating the defects the gating system components such as sprue , sprue well ,ingates and risers are redesigned using the feeding rules , gating design procedure, theoretical knowledge , practical considerations and casting simulation results . The various designs of the gating system components are made and 3D CAD model of each design is made and analyzed using casting simulation software AutoCASTX flow plus. After analyzing the simulation results if required goal is not achieved, then the respective changes are made in design and 3D CAD model and it is again simulated. The procedure is repeated until the required results are obtained. Finally redesigned gating system and risers are used to achieve sound casting i.e. defect free casting.

Analysis & Simulation of casting to eliminate casting defects

This paper discusses the use of Ejector as an expansion device as an energy efficient alternative to expansion valve in air conditioning system to improve the system performance. Expansion Process in Vapour Compression refrigeration system represents one of the important sources of irreversibility. Ejector was used instead of conventional expansion device which not only recover the expansion process loss by generating isentropic expansion process but also by increasing the cooling capacity and decreasing the power consumption. Initially experimental test was conducted on window air conditioner with standard expansion valve and then with ejector .Test were also conducted to re-circulate the liquid at the outlet of evaporator if any by using separator through valve to ejector. These act as secondary flow which was controlled by using hand valve. The coefficient of performance (COP) values for both conventional and modified ejector systems were experimentally investigated under same external conditions. Modified ejector refrigeration system shows 20% improvement in COP as compared with conventional system.

Investigation of Self Cleaning Action in an Evaporator Tube Using a Spring Insert

In a solar central receiver system, solar radiation is concentrated on a tower mounted heat exchanger (receiver) by the use of mirrors called heliostats. To compare the experimental and numerical result for getting the better Flux distribution on the solar central receiver system, a common basis of testing is desirable. This helps in the design and performance prediction of not only receiver, but also a complete system. The method consists of optical test characterization of receiver. This research presents the Focus Test on the receiver and its implementation on solar central receiver system. The test provides the size of the focus, the total solar radiation concentrated, flux distribution and concentration ratio. Result of this test gives the idea about design of receiver and choice of material. The SOLTRACE software, developed by NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory, United States) for the numerical work to find out the focus size and flux distribution on the receiver. By using this result with aiming point strategy in SOLTRACE software the even flux distribution and flux image size will be optimized.
