This increase in research interest is driven by many areas that are being worked on such as machine-based fact finding, smart over-seeing, perceptual connection, and so on. Identifying or deducing the feelings while they are on a particular task has a multidisciplinary domain involvement. Analysing human feelings by affective computing-survey

Powder-mixed polypropylene (PP)–graphite binary composites exhibit an electrical percolation threshold at 10 wt% graphite signifying insulator-semiconductor transition. Three conducting fillers such as carbon black (CB), sonicated expanded graphite (s-ExGr), and carbon nanofiber (CNF) are mixed with PP-7 wt% graphite binary composites. The electrical percolation threshold has been found to have inverse relation to the aspect ratio of second conducting fillers in hybrid composites. The aspect ratio of second conducting fillers varies in the order CB < ExGr < CNF. The electrical percolation threshold is found to vary for the hybrid composites as 2.2 wt% for CB addition, 0.75 wt% for ExGr addition, and 0.2 wt% for CNF addition in the PP-7 wt% graphite binary composites. When the aspect ratio of second conducting fillers increases, they reduce the barrier for the charge transport. The second conducting fillers occupy the interspace of graphite and alternating current studies show that the effective dielectric constant increases with the concentration of second conducting filler in the hybrid composites. The composites are characterized by transmission electron microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Melt-crystallized PP-7 wt% graphite-CNF composites exhibit higher percolation threshold due to decrease in the polymer viscosity which increases the interparticulate distance.

Polypropylene based conducting nanocomposites: Effect of aspect ratio of secondconducting filler on the electrical percolation

A critical problem to gather data in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is energy hole. Sensor nodes transmit their data towards the static sink in a multi-hop manner. Sensor near the static sink contains all data of other sensors and its own data and thus it drains their energy very fast. So balancing energy throughout the network is important. Efficient utilization of energy is the main objective in WSN for maximization of a network's lifetime. For reducing the energy-hole problem in WSN a mobile sink approach is used. Mobility in WSN contains movement of the node around the network which consumes energy efficiently. However frequently changing the sink topology, determines the energy consumption. Moving the sink node is an effective solution for improving the lifetime of WSN. There are different methods in the literature schedule sink movements and determine sink stay points. Here the mobility of sink node can be considered based on distance of the Cluster Head (CH). Here mobile sink node checks the distance from the all CHs and moves the mobile sink to less distance CH. It also finds out the intersection points of two CHs. Depending on the intersection points mobile sink will move in between and collect data from the both CHs. Hence using this approach mobility will reduce and efficiently consumes more energy in network. © 2016 IEEE.

Sink Mobility based energy efficient algorithm to improve the network lifetime

At the time of World War-II with advent of fighter planes Heads-Up display (HUD) were invented to assist pilot with their targets and navigation. Heads up display is a device which have a transparent display on which information is displayed, it is kept right in line of sight of driver or pilot. With advancement of technology the automobiles are equipped with features and machinery for making driving safe and comfortable example automatic windows, speedometer, milometer and displays for navigation etc. The equipment for driver navigation assistance are usually placed on dashboard of car. To see the information on display each time driver has to shift his focus from the road to the dashboard, which is if not fatal can be dangerous. To overcome the above mentioned problem Heads-Up display can be the solution. In this paper an economical prototype of HUD is presented which displays the symbols turn by turn with the other useful information for navigation on a transparent screen which is placed in line of sight of driver. Compared to existing complex, expensive HUD which are not in the reach of masses due their high cost, the innovative prototype of HUD is presented. The HUD proposed takes the advantage of mobile phones capability for building low cost system. The mobile application with the Arduino Uno, Bluetooth module and 2.8″ TFT are used to create this gadget. This paper also present the results of the experiment performed to check the effectiveness of system. © 2016 IEEE.

A prototype of low cost heads up display for automobiles navigation system

People are delimited by abundance use of wireless computing and communication devices that are connected via wireless technology in an overlay network. Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have gained much attention in both public and research communities as they are expected to bring the communication between humans, environment, and machines to a new paradigm. Wireless networks gradually need to self-organize and become accustomed to new conditions for ease in management and operation. In this article, we have considered an application of traffic management for smart city. The implementation of sensors for such an application needs long life of sensors. Clustering of sensor nodes can be used for energy conservation in WSN. We have proposed a framework of self-organized wireless sensor network (SOWSN) implemented the algorithm for clustering of nodes based on residual energy of nodes and node distance to minimize the average energy consumption. We will also study the effect of node distance on energy consumption. © Springer Science+Business Media Singapore 2017.

Energy-efficient self-organization wireless sensor network for traffic management in smart cities

This paper presents semi-automatic method hybrid depth map generation using fusion of monocular cues. Depth Estimation is generally done using stereoscopic cameras. It is a difficult task to estimate depth from single view camera. In this paper, fusion of four monocular cues as-Motion cue, Linear perspectivecue, Aerial perspective cue and defocus are proposed for depth estimation using single camera. Bilateral filter is used to get a continuous depth map. The results show that the present system for estimation of depth based on monocular cues achieves better performance. © 2017 IEEE.

Development of methodology for extraction of depth for 2D-to-3D conversion

The eye is a standout amongst the most critical tangible organs in the human body which comprise of pupil, iris and sclera. Eye disease is a typical medical problem around the globe. Considering the most widely recognized eye illnesses like cataract, conjunctivitis. Cataract causes a kind of blurring on the focal point prompting to diminished vision and if kept untreated for long prompts to lasting visual impairment. Conjunctivitis or pink eye is a condition where the conjunctiva of the eye is aggravated by an infection or by an allergic reaction. There are different automatic cataract, conjunctivitis recognition and order strategies accessible today. In this paper, preprocessing is done for specified eye disease images which is followed by feature extraction and classification. The image is classified as cataract disease, conjunctivitis disease and normal eye using minimum distance classifier.

Detection of Cataract and Conjunctivities diesease using histogram oriented gradients

This paper attempts to contribute to the research by suggesting 3 models – one relating the current measured on the geopathic stress zone with the body voltage of the drivers, secondly the average number of accidents with respect to the body voltage and thirdly the average number of accidents with respect to the current on the geopathic zone. In this paper the geopathic stress is one of the cause for road accident has been studied. For this, in all 50 accident spots were selected on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, the Mumbai-Bangalore highway NH-4, the Pune-Nagar highway and the Mumbai-Pune National highway.

Road Accident Prediction Models based on Geopathic Stress

Honeycomb mainly known for is high strength to weight ratio. Its sandwich structure is made of three layers, First and third layer is skin, made of metal, alloys of metal or may be from composite material like fiberglass, high pressure laminate. This light weight structure is mainly part of aerospace industries. Its high impact absorbing capacity attracted many researchers to investigate the effect of core between two skins. This paper aims to analyze impact absorbing capacity of specimen. An impact absorbing capacity of the specimen is determined up to full penetration by experimental drop weight test. The Core hexagonal cell configuration with variation in their cell size has been considered. The six specimens are tested to determine the relation between force and deformation by considering peak and puncture factors for force, deformation. The variations in cell size reveals that 40% energy absorbing capacity increase in results.

Determination of Impact Absorbing Capacity and toughness of Aluminum Honeycomb Sandwich Panel in Bumper Beam

This paper depicts the optimization of tractor trolley chassis to carry the maximum load using all design operating condition safely. To trim down the weight of trolley chassis along with strength is one of the objectives of work. The main consideration in chassis design is to have adequate bending stiffness for better handling characteristics. The maximum stress, maximum equilateral stress and deflection are the important criteria for design of the chassis. The present works shown the tractor trolley chassis modelled by considering two different sections namely C & I. The methodology developed for the selection of optimum parameters of C section using orthogonal array method. The effects of parameters such as web thickness, upper flange thickness & lower flange thickness are analyzed using numerical model. The maximum deflection and stress are determined by performing stress analysis for different sections. The experimental and computed results are shown acceptance of the nature of maximum deflection.
